~A Great Old Bowl~

While I was waiting for Theresa to come by, I thought
she had said 10, but when she didn't show up I guessed
I was wrong and it was for 11... Anyway, I decided to make
some pumpkin bread. I used a favorite recipe Ive had for
well I bet 40 years.. I made 2 loaves and will gave one to
Theresa. But when I was getting the ingredients all in one
spot on my small work table that's out by the window, I
had gotten my mothers old enamel mixing bowl.. A big
sort of olive, off color tea green maybe, in color.. I use
it for mixing everything.. its just a great bowl.. And it was
my mothers. :-)

I can remember from when I first started watching my
mother cook, well I always watched, but not until I was a
tad older did I really do anything other than just talk a
mile a minute and wait to lick the spoons and bowls :-) I
know my mother used this same bowl to make her famous
breads and cookies, it was a very used bowl. Perhaps
because Its a enamel bowl, kinda metal, is why it has made
it through all these years. All the wonderful foods that I
KNOW were prepared in it they couldn't ever be numbered.
I'm glad I have this bowl.. it brings back some wonderful
memories and I hope I can pass this bowl on to my kids, so
they can use it to prepare memories for themselves ... :-)

We are under the gun again for bad weather. Snow, sleet,
rain, ice... not necessarily in that order, but any way we get
that kinda CRAP, its not good. I worry about the roads and
with the kids, and Penny having to travel them. I have to
say I am very glad I don't have to get out in it.. And if we
get this today later on, I hope Penny can make it tomorrow,
I have 2 more packages to mail.. and if they don't go out
by tomorrow, well I bet they don't get them in time.. *sigh*
but that's me, I'm always late with this kinda stuff which
as fanatical as I am about other stuff you would think I
would be about this..

Well I have a bedroom to start working on. We got the
kitchen done and I finished the living room today, still
the hall and bathroom to go but I am not worrying with
it today. I'm kinda tired.. I got up at 5, but there was
stuff I wanted to have done before Theresa came to
see this place. as of right now, I'm going to post, she
is still late..its 11:30 and I have not heard.. I'm sure
I will.. maybe I misunderstood the time.. oh well I am
not going anywhere so what ever time she comes, I'm
here :-) Time to post, and write my GORGEOUS
WEEBLE "G'day, G'day" :-)

Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? Love ya, and THANKS!
Always, Lois ****

"God Bless You", is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

    Hi, Honey,
Geez-Oh-Pete!! You ladies are all the same - you all have itchy bums - you can't sit still for a minute, no, not even a second.
Just take care, Honey, or you'll over do it again.
Ines has a china mixing bowl that her mum gave her when we got married. It is just big enough to do the Christmas puddings. That is one of the few things it's used for these days. Ines usually uses the "Kenwood" electric mixer.
She is making a Granery loaf to-night, in the bread maker, for my sister on Saturday - if we have room in the car for it!!
    Take care, Honey,
    Luv Ya,
    Raife

    Hi Gorgeous One,

Cool on the bowl. We have a large yellow bowl here that was actually my Grandmother's, then my Mother's, and now ours. Nothing fancy - just regular household bowl from probably the teens or 20's. Also a couple other pieces from the set. Kind of classic these days.

Glad you are enjoying your new place. Have fun with the bedroom - lol. Wish I could be there to help.

    Bare Hugs,

    Butty
