~Snow Again~
Awoke this morning to snow, and 10 or more inches is
expected today, needless to say that Penny did not
come today. Tomorrow is the food basket pick up and
she will go there to get mine for me and hopefully the
roads will be clear enough and I wont worry about her
on them... The landlords maintence guy came and plowed
the driveway, I was glad since Ive not seen or heard
from the COA one, but they are closed today because
of the snow and ice and rain that is still expected..
I am glad I prepare for these, the boys and I could eat
I am glad I prepare for these, the boys and I could eat
and survive I bet for a month at least if not longer with
what I have here. Some places are without electricity
I heard.. think of the flaw that will put into Christmas
baking.. I keep flashlights and candles and a battery
radio at the ready all the time, just in case, and at times
its proved very helpful... This may not ease up and Penny
may not make it here tomorrow either, I learned the
hard way about keeping food on hand, plus plenty of can
stuff in case we lose power.
I got the last two boxes ready for my sons. I know they
wont get them in time now, but I tried. With the weather
like it is and Penny only here 3 days a week I should have
planned better and got things around sooner, but with this
move and unpacking, then getting sick, I still don't feel up
to par, I get very energetic, then suddenly it fades and I
have to stop.. I guess re-energize :-) I sent the boys each
a watch that belonged to my dad and grandfather.. The
wristwatch was kind of hard for me to give away, but it
needs to be passed along, I wore it for a long time and I
am glad I can pass it along. The pocket watch was my
grandfathers, a Elgin, dated 1922. The jeweler here had
it to give me an appraisal on repair, and I just couldn't
swing fixing it.. But I sent it to my oldest son, as it was
my grandfathers, and the wristwatch being my dads I
sent to my youngest son. I hope they value them as much
as I do, I feel good passing them along...
Well, I have quite a bit I want to do yet today before I
totally give out.. I want to have some lunch and a cup of
tea and hopefully find time to answer some emails that I
have neglected.. being busy is no excuse not to reply to
someone kind enough to write to me, so I need to get that
done.. As bad as I nag about "kids" not writing to me I
should do better myself ... I will.. :-)
Lunch break, post time, and back to work.. nice lazy easy
wintry day and I am enjoying it.. This GORGEOUS WEEBLE
says "G'Day, G'Day".... :-)
says "G'Day, G'Day".... :-)
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear ? love ya and Thanks !

Blizzard mentality: In NYC the transportation system functions pretty well. A 25 inch snow or a 3 inch rain can shut down portions of the system. Our electrical system is mostly underground. I DO keep an over supply of foods.
I had a Matthey Tissot watch since about 1947. I gave it to my daughter - I also gave her some antique cameras.

Yukkk on all that snow Gorgeous.
Lot's of rain here yesterday - and about 35 degrees, which is miserable, but better than snow.
Nice and warm inside - fire in the fireplace :)....
Finally getting the tree up today i think... Hope you have a good one!

Hiya Butty,
Its fun putting up a tree, or used to be, now I just pull it out of a box, and plug it in.. beautiful thing.. :-) times have changed, my dad used to go out in the woods and bring us a tree.. that was nice.. the smell was wonderful..now my only pine scent is in a can :-)
Love N'Hugs!
