~Birds Outside~

I was sitting here at my desk reading mail and I notice Dutch at
the window here next to me, sitting on the bench I put there for
the boys to see outside. I noticed that his tail was twitching and
he was so excited.. I backed up so I could see what he was
looking at.. Penny had put some left over bread and crackers,
that were to me not very good ones, but I knew the birds would
love them, and the boys could watch the birds while they ate
them, I did that over at the apt too..When I looked out side
there was the loveliest red cardinal hopping around out there
just having a feast.. Both Dutch and I had a great time watching
that little bird.. In a few minutes 2 more showed up along with a
darker one which of course was the female cardinal..The males
are the deep beautiful red..

My ex mother in law had a huge deck on the back of the house
and fed the birds all winter and we used to love to watch those
gloriously red males and the lovely females eating.. I am going
to try to get a nice bird feeder for out there, I seemed to enjoy
watching them as much as the boys..just a minute after I started
to watch LB came up and the 3 of us sat for quite a while watching
the birds as soon others realized there were bread and cracker
crumbs out there, there were quite a few birds.they boys loved it.
I know the cars coming down the road could see us probly wonder
what we were doing.. I still think of that day when Dutch at the same
moment that car turned and he stood up in the window and looked
like he waved at those people..I know they have to still remember
that it was so cute to see and the timing couldn't have been better,
the lady and Dutch saw each other at the same time it looked like-
she didn't see the bird he really wanted..but it sure put a smile on
those 2 peoples faces . I saw her reach out and touch the man's
arm as they both looked at the boy waving at them.. hes such a
good kid..well sometimes..I guess I'll keep them for a while..:-)

Then again-- lol.. well as I wrote that above.. I heard Dutch in the
bedroom, of course trying to get to look out of the window probly
saw a bird or squirrel, I didn't look this time I was too busy watching
my curtain rod fall off the window!, curtains and all just hangin :-)
.. I rolled in there and sat for a minute looking up at it..knowin' not
a thing I could do about it..I just sat and didn't know whether to laugh
or cry or what :-) I just sat there and Dutch is sittin on the bed
looking all innocent as if to say "ohoh"..bad part was no one was
expected to come by today, so that meant leaving it hang..and that
means shadows on the wall even moreso tonite, which means Dutch
is gonna be runnin his little patootie butt off :-) now all I need to do
is plug in that touch lamp and wind up the clock he loves and that
cat would go totally nutz lol..no mom will be nice..but I could sleep
with the light on and that would stop the shadows..Im hoping that
Penny will be able to fix it tomorrow for me. daily reminders im a
short GORGEOUS WEEBLE :-)

LB was in my rental power chair tryin to sleep..the look on him was
"well what ya gonna do with this kid mom?" he gets up does a
few circles and lays back down with his back to Dutch and me
and the window..hes such a Garfield :-)

The photo I took today..2 things to notice I'll draw your attention
to..in case you don't see it.. look at the tips of my fingers on my
hand ...you can see how dark they're getting..that's why I made
the appointment with the vascular Dr. its the same on my right
hand but the tips are a tad darker on that hand.. Also if you look
at my left eye.. Im not winkin at ya..well I am but that eye has
gotten to where it stays shut most of the time..and I honestly
have no idea why, its easier to keep it the way it wants to be,
I can concentrate and hold it open but then it just closes when
my mind wanders off to something else..and if you know me,
It has a tendency to do that :-) I am legally blind in that eye. I
still have it and can see images out of it..but it has no lens on
it and no focus at all..I lost it back in 84.. a piece of metal
went through it..1mm from the center..If you look right into
that eye if you were up close it looks just like a cats eye.
the dark iris is not round like a normal eye mine is straight
up and down, that eye was a nightmare part of my life
back then..the pain with that was unimaginable as well..I
have had 4 surgeries on it .. and still no sight that I could
depend on if I lost my right..which over the years has gotten
so bad..I have to wear magnifiers..I wear glasses all the time
mainly for protection of my right eye which many many times
ive been so glad Ive worn as things would have gotten into
it had I not had them on.. now I wear them for that reason
AND so I can read :-)

Speakin of readin..well I thinks ive writ enough for this day,
was a sunny day tho and most of our snow is gone..we had
to change our time today and I guess Spring is springin..
Im gonna spring over to that bed and maybe get some
sleep before I KNOW this kid is gonna be runnin..:-) so its
time to say again."nitey nite".. :-)

Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya..and thanks!
Always, Lois ****

God Bless you is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe
until I write again..

    Hi,Honey,
Been busy to-day, helping Management dig the vegetable patch. Had to shovel s--t (Sorry, manure!!) and dig it into the ground. It's been a lovely, warm, early Spring day here and all the daffodils are just coming into bloom. Management did a lovely meal of roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, cabbage, leeks and your fav. veg. - CARROTS!!!, followed by English rhubarb and junket. If that doesn't make you-all hungry, I don't know what will. Take care, Hon, L.O.L. & G.B.H. from

my cats love to bird watch. The first words of English Star learned to say were *medium-rare.*

We have free films in Brooklyn. I went to an art gallery - there were about 20 people and they use a projector (DVD) and a screen and the films are enjoyable. We saw *Heavenly creatures (filmed in New Zealand in 1994)

    Hello Lois
Nice picture you took, one of the best I think. Blue look good on you.
Great service today, the rest of the day I rested. This time change does get to me in the spring,I have a harder time getting up at 6 a.m. now if I would go to bed early that would help. That not going to happen. I love the house when everone in a sleep and the house is quiet.
Bob and I love watching the birds too. Now we have two danhshund puppy to watch Doc and Sam they are brother. Sam is the smallest and he is mine dog. We have a chihuahua that 15 years old.
    God bless you Lois.

    Morning Momar,
Im going to get a nice bird feeder for out side the living room window and Im going to look for an old bench or chair, table..something for out by the garage, the boys love watching the birds..I dont think they can figure out what a squirrel is though, they enjoy it ..How is Star? did she break her little leg? poor kittie..

    Hi Mary, My dear friend...
my house stays very quiet, unless I have the tv or radio on. My mom & dad loved the birds they had houses and feeders and all sorts of books to identify them..

Dad found one that had hit the window and died they felt so bad.. the bird had a band around its leg with a phone number and he called it..the bird was being tracked to see where it went , it had travelled hundreds of miles in its migration.. was so interesting they sent him all sorts of info on it.. Birds are so great..OUTside.. Im not a big fan of Inside ones.. beautiful yes.. but .. Im a cat and dog person.. I miss not having a dog so bad.. I would love to have a german shepherd.. I really love those dogs..

Hope you have a great monday and a good week ahead.. So glad you liked the photo. thanks :-)

That really is a very nice photo, Lois. I hope that the MD is able to help you with your fingers.

I have never seen with my left eye, and in recent years the lid has followed a southward trend so that it looks partially closed. I know that it confuses people wometimes who do not know me well.

If I concentrate I can hold it open but then next thing I realize its back closed again..so I let it stay shut..lol.. just looks like im winkin.. ;-) Sometimes people arent sure which is the good eye and dont know which one to look at lol.
