~A & W Root Beer Stands~

I was talking to a friend today about things that were a sign

that summer was here and the main one I always remembered

was the opening of the Root Beer stand in Iron River.. It was on

the highway just as you started out of town between the huge

Presbyterian and the stone 7th Day Adventist Churches. Girls

waited on the cars when they pulled up around the building, they

didn't wear roller skates though. They had little cards they tucked

under the windshield wiper to show that you had been waited on.

When they brought your order, which always was a huge frosty

mug of Root Beer, they carried it on a tray that hooked on to your

window.
Look at that great frosty mug, doesnt it look just SO GOOD :-)
The warmer it was outside the drippier the mug would get,

depending on how fast you drank it down, and it was ice cold,

drinking it too fast I would get one of those head freezes..But
I loved the Root Beer.. I hear the song every now and then

and it reminds me. They have A & W in cans at the stores but

its not the same as what you get at the stands.. They had one

here in town but I have NO idea where it is.. Its inside a gas

station or something..farther down the road some where.. too

far anyway for Penny to go on one of her errands.. If you see

one and you like Root Beer..stop..be worth it..

From being so sick and in bed all those days, which now seem

like forever, I have a horrible sore spot on my tailbone.. I have

put everything on it and so far nothing is working.. To get a bad

spot there is so hard cuz I cant find a good way to sit let alone

lay down.. I bet I must have sat up and down 4 times last nite

trying to get comfy and it was just NOT happening.. I did get a

call from Deborah today and she is going to try to get me a

new mattress for my bed. Of course I have to get a Dr order,

and I wont be able to do that till I go back on the 4th of June..

When I do I KNOW I will not forget that...I really do need a

better one..this one is horrible.. you can feel the coils of the

springs thru the thin plastic cover.. I have 2 comforters on my

bed that I lay on but..well its that same thing of the princess and

the pea..I can feel every little wrinkle, and those springs hurt

and make for very uncomfy sleeping..I hope tonite is better..

I didn't have lunch today as I decided I would have some more,

well the last of the spaghetti sauce and strawberries.. Sounds

good.. COA lunch, I have NO idea what it was.. Mine is better

and that's what Im gonna eat.. First my GORGEOUS WEEBLE
