~Little Things~

Isnt it just great how just small little things make you
smile? Just a single flower today made my day.. I looked
out my kitchen window, like I do 50 times a day and this
morning was a most lovely surprise.. Do you see her? Miss
Bluey... A blue morning glory.. Those are what I had at my
condo before all over my trellis.. you can see how much
bigger they are than the reddish ones.. There are quite a
few of those out there too but are hidden... It makes a
person feel good to see the fruits of their labors.. I know
Penny will be pleased, shes worked so hard out there for
me so I can look out and enjoy all her efforts and I sure
do appreciate her.. My girl does good work... I'm very
will be covered, as Penny will put up some more of the
wire to help them climb.. She said the ones she planted
at her house are just going nuts and growing every
where. Its a good growing year I think..all my wonderful
flowers are doing good.. My rose bush is coming back for
her 2nd bloom... Again I say, like I do every time I look
and see the great job whomever the planter was that
put all these flowers in the ground.. I should ask Big
their photo.. Sometimes the flash goes off and it
scares them.. There were about 5 up there when I
grabbed the camera..but of course the boy had to
see what I was looking at and scared the others away.
I think some of the birds and animals are just used
to us staring at them thru that window... Its great to
have windows to see out of.. but better yet its just a
great blessing to be able to see isnt it? I know I sure
appreciate it being blind in my left eye...
I lost the lens and sight in my left eye back in 84. We,
Willie and I had a tree service and had I known, I would
have worn safety glasses.. But you just don't think those
kinds of things can happen and they do. We were taking
out a stump, Julio and I, Willie of course was off on one of
his frequent trips to Florida, supposedly to visit his brother
Beau, no.. was to visit his ex wife and stay at her house., I
didn't know this till after we divorced,,, lucky for him, and
her I didn't know... :-) Julio used a wedge, as he is pounding
that in, a piece of metal..1/4 inch ...came off that wedge,
flew thru the air, I was at least 30 feet away and at an angle,
that piece went thru my eye, 1 milimeter from the center,
as it went thru the eyeball and rested in the socket behind
it, it tore the lens off my eye, it had a barb on it, like a fish
hook has.. The result was 4 surgeries later I ended up with
very very little sight.. I can see shadows, and colors.. but no
detail at all.. If I lost my right eye, I would be in serious
  trouble...
As the years go by I notice how drastically my sight has
As the years go by I notice how drastically my sight has
steadily gotten worse.. I wear glasses constantly , just
the cheapie magnifier kind.. When I went through all that
with my left eye, I started then to wear glasses as the Dr
said it would be wise, just to protect my good eye.. I was
driving down the highway one day, with the window open,
a piece of dust or something got in my good eye and I was
instantly blinded.. really freaked me out and going down a
4 lane highway.. thank God I was on the outside lane, I
pulled over to the side and had to wait till I could get what
ever it was out.. I didn't have glasses on that day, I always
wear them now.. Being blind in one eye causes problems in
driving this chair too.. I get to rollin kinda fast and head
for the door way, I hit the side of it because of the no
depth perception!...I still havent learned to slow down.. :-)
I can go to put something on the table and If I am not
VERY careful.. more than likely I will miss and it will hit
the floor.. David was always teasing me.. tossing things to
me and watching how I NEVER caught it.. I finally learned
that I can only catch if THEY throw it into my hand.. :-)
Well, its that time. I have some green tomatoes in my fridge,
so ... 3 guesses what this lady is gonna do? yup.. slice them
babys up.. bread them and gently fry them, in virgin olive oil
of course, and not a lot.. Teflon pans you don't need to ... My
girl Dawn brought them to me the other day when she was here.
She got them from Mikes garden, I'm glad they made it out of
their house, but I don't think they really like fried green
tomatoes.. theyre great ... So was the movie by that name :-)
I'm done for today, hope you like the photos and that you
had a nice Sunday... I did... But I need some of those maters,
and that's where this GORGEOUS WEEBLE is heading... but
first my grateful for this day "nitey nite" :-)
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and THANKS !!
God Bless You, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
 Until I write again...

Suddenly there is a cancer epidemic in Brooklyn. Bill, a photographer I know. Sal has cancer of the lung and spine. My brother in law in Maryland has it. May all with cancer live many years until there is a cure.
