~Rain Today~

RAINY DAY! But I like them. As long as nothing floods. I

think about that sometime as low as this house sits and

just 2 blocks down the street are 2 huge, no 3 HUGE
lakes! Penny said down the end of this street that goes

in front of the house its really nice. Its not really a lake,

but a big river I guess and then at the bridge they have

the damn that controls the river that goes into Palmer

Lake, then down into Long Lake and then I think back into

the St. Joe River.. Ive never really studied it on the map.

I would think being above the damn that this wouldn't flood

like below would.. The ones Ive asked if its ever flooded

here they have said no..but then they said they never have

electric outages either and since I moved here there have

been 2 as in TWO.. Even Steve and Lisa laughed and teased

me about that, so kinda makes me worry :-)
But I really don't mind rainy days, if its a nice steady rain,

NOT a storm...no thunder or lightening.. I was looking out

the door and saw the granddaughter over at the black kittie

house, come flying out of the door and out in the middle of

the yard do a cartwheel and a sort of little dancey circles

around the yard, I could even hear her laughing .. then made

a mad dash back into the house.. Ive done that.. its such a

nice refreshing feeling.. specially when its a nice warm rain.

Was so nice seeing that, she was happy and it made me

smile.. :-)

When I was growing up, still in school, the only time I got a

ride was when it was raining.. Snow, I walked in that.. but

most times my dad would be waiting in the jeep across from

the school for me.. He would always say he was on his way

back from town, and decided to give me a ride.. Which I

KNEW he planned his trip in time to me getting out of school.

As much as I loved being outside, when it rained it meant I

got to stay in and play with all my indoor stuff.. One of my

favorite things to do was to play paper dolls.. Usually, Pepper

and I would get together at my house or hers and play.. Of

COURSE mine had THE best wardrobe, which was all part

of playing with them.. My two best dressed ones were Liz

Taylor and Doris Day...They had GREAT clothes. and if I

didn't like them I would alter them so I did .. Or get them

from another one that I didn't like the doll, but I did like

the clothes.. :-) Guess you could say I did kinda paper

alterations :-) It was great fun.... I liked clothes back then

too :-) Even my paper dolls were the best dressed ..:-)

The boy came by yesterday bearing gifts ! He brought me

3 green tomatoes and 3 cucumbers :-) I am MOST pleased.

He fixed the light cord for me, that was hanging by the

stove driving me nutz AND he put a screw in the door so I

can hang my welcome sign up :-) I put him to work. It took

him all of 10 minutes to do it.. He kinda sorta fixed the

door to my camera for long enough to take HIS picture, then

soon as he left I got one pic of HumHer and the door fell

TOTALLY off.. I don't think it can be fixed.. RATZ!!!!!! He

tried.. he came in the jeep it wasn't his week end to have

custody of Jerky.. :-) As hot as it was yesterday he said the

ride wasn't even cool with the heat of the road hitting him.

He loves that jeep ... I do too.. That's what I learned to

drive in.. one like that.. :-)


Time for lunch and to post this.. I am almost done with the

quilt.. I cant work on it very long as my arms start to ache

so bad..and my hands kill me.. So I can only do it in spurts..

Worries me sometimes but guess that's all part of this

stuff. This GORGEOUS WEEBLE hopes you had as nice a

week end as I have.. Was great.. But fair warning! "I

SHALL RETURN " :-)
