~Hectic Day~
Hectic day today. The apartment manager Chris was here for a couple hours and I went over the lease with him and told him what I thought.. Of course he blamed it on HUD. said THEY were the ones that wanted all these rules and invasion of our privacy.. I think the explanation on why they HAVE to know who is visiting etc is "In case the building burns down, we know who all was here". ALways some excuse.. I told him I would sign the lease..but In no way was I going to inform him every time I had a guest come and stay for a day, week or even a month.. Was NO BODY's business.. and I will NOT tell him or anyone..Not that I DO have company, I dont, but its just the principle of it all. This is MY home. and because there are some that DONT value theirs makes it hard for those of us that do. Thats usually how it is. One or two can ruin it for everyone. And sadly we all have to be judged by just a few. He said that they are going to remove that first parking spot for loading reasons. It doesn't matter what reason, it needs gone. I told him- If some one in a chair accidentally hit a car, and scratched it, well who would be responsible for damages? Me or Hope? They had it so I had NO choice but to go there..Be nice when its gone.. My neighbor wont like it but oh well.. We went over everything that I had questions about. Hes ok.. but I honestly don't know if I trust him. My neighbor has told me some things.. and there was no way she could have known but from him. So I dunno but.. I maybe should have gotten him to sign this lease I have..that I scribbled on, so I would remember what to ask him. and that we had some sort of agreement.. You have to protect your self or its the "you dont like it-- MOVE" thing.. I did show him that garbage disposal again ..I honestly hate that thing.. I do.. Scares me. and its SO noisy, again. it was "you should hear some of the other ones" that's really encouraging same with the air conditioner.. Mine is supposedly the best here. so if mine goes..I can just suffer with it being like all the rest till they get around to fixing them.. LOL..see? I dunno.. I am just NOT cut out for apartment living maybe .. I don't know :-) A good friend was gone on holiday for two weeks I was so glad to know that they had returned safely and had a good one.. I keep saying I need one..and just havent gotten brave enough to take one I guess you could say. Maybe I'm just chicken lol. well cluck cluck then :-) NO I seriously have been thinking of doing that. -NO not turning into a chicken :-) getting brave and taking a trip alone. I want to take that train ride.. all I have to do is decide to where. Even if its just a round trip.. Ride, get there get on the train back , that would be ok too.. well it would save me a hotel stay :-) THATS where the cost is. I've called Amtrack..and I have some questions. If its a 2 day ride.. I cant stay in this chair for 2 days.. I really dont think I could..so that would mean my own compartment.. which that would be ok..it has a potty etc.. and it will have room service for food. BUT..its expensive to do that. If I took a shorter ride say east like to Boston..its cheaper..and I wouldn't have to have a compartment..as its not near as far..but its only a day trip almost.. so..the other is 4 days..if I did that on a shorter trip, 4 days that would mean a hotel..which I cant do that either lol.. Decisions decisions.. Maybe I will just get Kelli and Dawn and see if the 3 of us can go to the casino over by the lake lol.. I could win money maybe that way going there, not just spending . :-) I had one of my favorite sandwiches today for lunch.. Arbys Market Fresh Roast Beef and Swiss. no onion... Talk about a good sandwich.. its on home made bread even.. Its only $5.oo I think .. not too bad for as big as it is and SO GOOD.. I cleaned off the side of my desk today for these 2 cats to have a place to BOTH lay down.. so they wouldn't keep laying on my keyboard making my computer go nuts.. well fooey..They STILL lay on my keyboard.. Dutch laid on that enter key on the right side of the keyboard ..CRAP! my puter just SHUT right OFF ..talk about MAD~~!! lol I was in the middle of writing a post, lost the whole thing. I write it out first in my email program then bring my post here.. My email program has a really good spell checker lol...theres one on here but I don't know how to use it.. I only do the basic stuff on this blog I don't wanna make the blog gods unhappy .. :-) OH, that sandwich from Arbys? is HUGE.. and I still have HALF of it left..so :-) guess where I am headed? Well its right here ..but I need a soda ..lol. so Im headed my usual direction when I hit that publish thingie down there, got to have some thing to drink.. I dont drink a lot..didnt take long to figure out.. "drink before bed,, up during the nite" I dont get up NEAR as many times anymore.. I may be slow but Im sure :-) Nitey Nite :-) Y'all have a good one Y'hear? Luv ya and Thanks. :-) Always, Lois **** May God Bless you today, I'm so honored to call you friend, I pray the Lord will keep you safe, Until I write again... |

I went to a philosphy club Wednesday night and we talked about happiness. I kept thinking of dandelions. They are beautiful structurally and yummy to eat in salads and soups.
Roast beef sandwiches - they can be yummy also. I do not make roast beef because there is only me to eat it. I like sausages and have a special course of dinner with just sausages and related yummies.

Dear Lois,
I've caught up on your posts, now. Loved the family history and photos - thanks!
A Sexton is "an officer charged with care of a church and its belongings and with bell ringing and grave digging"
Sextant ius the word you were looking for, I think. "Instrument including a graduated arc equal to a sixth of a circle (hence SEXtant)for taking angular measurements"
I quote from The Little Oxford Dictionary, my constant companion!!! lolol ;o)
Actually, it is more likely to be a Theodolite, "Instrument for measuring angle in surveying", but, as in many semi-formal portraits, it gives the clue as to what grandfather did for a living.
Those BEEF sarnies sound scrummy - just to make you hungry, I shall have fresh asparagus with home-made bread and butter for my supper to-night.
Take care, hon, I missed reading your weblog while I was away.
Lots of love and hugs from
Raife. (Who is being anal again, as usual!!!)

Yes, that is a theodolite. Sextants are what you use primarily to find latitude on a ship.
HUS has pretty specific terms that you are required to use on leases, but I haven't been a direct HUD provider since the mid-90s.
Yes, Boston would certainly be a nice trip, but I'm biased. You could see the aquarium, Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, the Freedomn Trail, Boston Common and the Public Garden (of Make Way for Ducklings fame), and of course, the famous Boston Duck Tour.
Gave a great day.

Hi Gray,
Wonder if I could go to a Boston Tea Party while I was there? lol.. :-) Probly be cheaper hotel wise in the wniter I bet..lots of tourists in the summer. Be a nice train ride in the fall too with all the leaves, I know the train they have up north that goes to all the old logging mills. to take that in the fall is breathtakingly beautiful.
I wish I had the maps my grandfather made..I looked at the family tree and my great great grandfather was a surveyor as well..This family tree I Have is so interesting.. I may even have family there in that area. be interesting to find out.. I should get that ancestry .com ...I Have been threatening to for months now lol..
Have a good day!! I'll be back on Hoo later! :-)

Copies of maps for laying out roads, parcel ownership and other purposes that have legal implications are usually dsposited in Registries of Deeds, Land Court, and various state, county, and more rarely federal archives.

You can usually have copies made, but they do not have the attractive appearance of the original due to the kind of reproduction used.

Hi Gray, I never thought of that.. He surveyed all of the UP of Michigan for the roads up there from what I gather. Hes known at his old University MIT I think..in the UP.. good idea tho..thanks :-)
