~Balloonin'~
Hi, I'm sittin here trying to think about something to write about,
about today, or somethin lol..and guess what? Can you believe it-
my mind is a blank..don't you say you already KNEW that either :-)
I'm surprised lol... Its been such an up and down past few days that,
boy, I mean I go from ONE extreme to the other. I did find out though,
music helps. I keep listening to those happy songs, the ones that I sit
and listen to and kinda do a little chair scootin so to speak..lol. I
only listen to those..and it helps for awhile...
I think what Rob posted this morning made alot of sense and to be
honest I never thought of that, the fact that its summer and all the
activities, things going on, (the birds that do uglies on his car) lol...
And when it comes down to it..yes I CAN go outside..but there is
absolutely nothing to see..well parking lot..or the dirty patio out by
the big room, or the garbage dumpsters that are sitting out behind
the stores we can see out there.. Since the field is gone its even
worse..
I sat out there one evening with Deb, that lived next door, down on
that dirty patio..and we saw this red pick up truck pull up out in the
field pulling a trailer... not real big trailer..wasnt as big as the truck
we both wondered what it was.. Well Deb could walk so she went
back to my apartment and got my binoculars so we could see up
close just what was going on over there..the truck was in the field..not
the church parking lot ..where he got onto the field from, it just pulled
through the there and drove out kinda to the middle, out in the open.
I looked thru the glasses and read the sign on the truck ..it said Hot
Air Balloon Rides...and the company..Deb and I looked at each other
and both said at the same time.."well THIS should be interesting"...
and it really WAS! I had seen this on tv where they have all those hot
air balloon races etc..and how they inflate them..but to see it actually
going up..slow...but steady getting bigger ..that was amazing.. the
balloon itself was like a rainbow..all the bright colors..was just great..
we watched each taking turns with the glasses so we could watch as
that flame thingie shot up into that huge thing.. they hooked that basket
up to it..I was amazed that they could hold that massive thing down
and it not pull everyone up!!
While they were inflating it..was only 2 men..and a lady..another car
pulled up and 3 people, a man and 2 women got out..and they put a
little step thingie up to the basket and they all climbed inside.. The
lady and 1 man that brought the balloon stayed on the ground... As
the balloon started to slowly raise these sand bags that hung on the
sides were dropped and that massive thing started to go up in the
air.. It was so great to see that.. I had NEVER and probably never
ever will again, see that.. Was just great to watch as they rose up in
that huge beautiful balloon.. it was evening time..not alot of air..and
it just slowly drifted off towards the east.. Deb and I both wondered
where they were gonna land.. When the balloon got pretty much out
of sight the 2 that stayed on the ground loaded up the stuff back into
the truck..the steps etc..and pulled off ..no doubt would follow the
balloon to where ever it is they land it.. It was just wonderful to see..
That field was huge..and there were no electric lines or anything so
it was a perfect spot to launch that balloon.. The sun hitting it as it
was going down it was so pretty..Ive seen balloons go over before
but not one being unloaded , filled and launched..I can just imagine
where they have those races when the sky is filled with them just
how beautiful..I know the photos ive seen are, Deb and I, needless
to say really enjoyed that.. Deb had a dog..Lady a black cocker
spaniel.. and she barked at that thing . she had never seen that before
either and probably wonder WHAT in the WORLD could that be...
I miss that field..i watched the ground hogs..i bet were at least 10 I
counted out there.. They all had different holes is how you could tell..
the hawks were wonderful..I would watch them with my binoculars..
they would be nothing but a small spot in the sky ...way up there.. as
I would watch it..the spot got bigger and bigger and that bird would
SWOOP down so fast..and HIT the ground so hard he almost would
bounce..well maybe a SHE...lol..and then take off with something,
probably a mouse or something it spotted and fly off over to a tree
where I had seen it many times before.. That was so great to see too.
The wild flowers..drew the butterflies..of all colors..blue and yellow..
white.. were everywhere... a few weeks ago the apartment people
didnt cut the strip between here and there..I guess argued over whos
it was..and the yellow wild flowers got to grow..it was just gorgeous..
the way I remember it.. *sigh* it was a wonderful field.. they should
have left it.. but like they say ..Progress..But you know..there are SO
many empty buildings with alot of land around them..why not tear
down one of those places..and build there? why take the homes and
feeding grounds of all those animals and birds.. and the beauty of
it..its sad.. but then maybe only someone like me that saw it every
day really appreciated it..I know all that live on this side of the building
do miss that field..and I know all those poor homeless animals and the
ones that found their food out there miss it too..
I think Rob is right- that could be a big part of it and too, not having
very much company, I admit.I do get lonely..thank GOD i have these
2 little furry animals here to keep me company altho sometimes they
look at me like im nuts.. but they seem to know Ive been in kinda a bad
spot the past few days..and they have loved me a little more..even tho
I WAS bad to Dutch... hes forgiven me.slept on my shoulder last nite..
and LB slept at my side..oh and the girl friend? well she was ONLY on
a corner of the bed..but she was up there too lol...
Well its time to launch this chair in the direction of my kitchen, I havent
eaten today and Im not really hungry..lol surprised?? but its saturday
nite..and well..me thinks I hear a potato calling me..and that gravy mix
I think is banging at the pantry door..and I see the deep fryer winkin'
at me too lol..so I better go quiet them down or Penny will be knockin
at my door..:-) cant be having a food riot in here lol.. Nitey nite...
Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? Luv ya...and Thanks.. :-)
Always, Lois ****
May God Bless you today,
I'm so honored to call you friend,
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

In the summer, I eat a plate of cool food so that I do not have to cook. I usually have a meat course - with mustard then this plate of anti-pasto. I make my own potato salad and have various picles, olives, fish, 3-bean salad etc.
Lunch I have 3 sandwich halves.
The BBC world service interviewed some Mexicans at 45th St and 5th ave in my old nabe. That is the 2nd time they were in my nabe. Recently they interviewed some Pakistanis about sending money back home.

Dear Lois,
Thjere's only one thing better than watching one of those hot-air baloons being inflated, and that's going up in one!! I had a freebee some years ago. a guy launches them from my bro'-in'law's farm and owed him, so I got a ride. It was GREAT. Yes, dogs hate those things, and of course, you can hear them from the balloon.
One problem in the States is that you still have lots of land. Over here, we try to "recycle" our land as much as possible, like you suggested they should do with the land near you - but it's cheaper to build on a "green field" site than on what we call "brown sites". As usual, Money!!
Take care, Hon, lots of love and hugs from
Raife.

Morning Momar :-)
Well MY question to YOU Momar is ..WHEN am I invited for dinner? lol..You have a great menu. Between you and Raife..well I bet you 2 could have one hell of a good restaurant !!!
I would be your best customer too :-) If I provide the desert tho ..can I eat free? :-)
Hiya Cherry Pie!!! :-)
That garden of yours will be great..Your in the UK..Raife is too and he and his wife have THE most GORGEOUS Garden. Birds and all. I just sent him blueprints to make butterfly houses for out side for them to nest in..theyre gorgeous things.. and the butterflies LOVE them .. I used to make them myself.
I can send you the plans too hon...
perhaps Dad can make one of them for
your lovely garden..lol.Lucky girl . Im so glad for you Cherry..and SO pleased Mum is doing so much better.
No Raife.. naaa I'll just admire those balloons from the ground..The sound from up high is the same as when you are out in a boat.. surprising what you can hear sound sure travels well :-) I found THAT out the hard way taking a very private pontoon ride down the river one late evening lol.
Yes, you are right Raife, its just sad isnt it.. That could have been turned into a wildlife spot for all the birds and animals that lived there. for 3 years I watched as the canadian geese landed there to feed, wonderful site..they havent been back..sad loss. Needless to say Dutch LOVED them lol...
y'all have a great day... so nice to hear from you..gee this may be a HAPPY DAY :-D... Luv ya's !!!
