~10 Days~
What a day! I have been on the phone most of the morning
still getting things set up.. I now have most all done except
for my SS and bank. All the utility companys are different
but I had no trouble setting up service in my name like I am
with CHARTER CABLE... I called them today about where it
is I have to go, which they knew that but when I asked if
they were sure this place is wheel chair accessible no one
knew and didn't know who to call to ask.. I think most places
are but when your in a chair its best to make sure before
you travel 50 miles, one way to go somewhere. I would be
most upset if I couldn't get into their place after all I had
to go through to get a ride.. It took 3 phone calls alone to
set it up.. Its not that easy.. I have a ride set up for 9:30
Friday morning.. so there goes our packing day.. and I only
have 10 days to pack the rest of this...
I think that was Nicoles problem.. the inspector from Keystone,
and like that lady told me once about how she couldn't see why
I just couldn't "scoot across" into my caregivers car to go to
the store myself.. Well.. until you have YOUR butt stuck in one
of these chairs no one really knows.. That's why I DONT like
going out because of all the crap I have to go through.. To just
"scoot" like that lady said, I don't scoot... Id like to see HER
try it... Its not that easy besides being very dangerous.. If you
put that transfer board across to the car seat and when you
go to slide across if that board moves and falls down YOU hit
the ground.. And if you are NOT strong.. how are you going to
pull your self across? They don't think of all this when they
don't allow lenience for someone in a chair and I think that's
really crappy.. I have to say I have YET to call one company
that had any sort of compassion or better rates or any kind
of variance for us. I even called the ACA and they said, "you
have to do as they ask there is nothing we can do to get a
company to give you any kind of dispensation". I wish they
would just realize how hard this is...
My problem I realized today that is facing me, well lets say
ANOTHER problem I have to solve. On the 22nd when we go
to haul all this stuff up there, how will I get there? I cant
get in Dawns Blazer or Kellis Blazer, Penny has to work and
COA doesn't run on Saturday.. So... now what do I do? I
guess it will be up to the boy to not only load all my stuff but
me as well, which no one has ever lifted or carried me and,
well I guess I may have to dress a little more that day..:-)
Id hate to scare anyone! :-)
I only have a couple more things to pack here in the living room
and Penny came today with more boxes and she packed the
bathroom and part of the kitchen.. I think our biggest thing
and hard for me is the basement as I don't know where or
how things are down there. I will have to send Penny down
with the camera to take pictures so I can see whats there
and what needs left and what needs prepared to go.. I talked
to Joe yesterday and in the picture of the back of the house,
there are 3 garages all together .. He said he keeps his boat
and his pontoon in there along with his maintence mans boat.
He is sure some of my things can go in that until the Histerical
Society comes and gets their stuff. So that's a relief...
I woke up not feeling the best this morning and as soon as I
post this I am going to lay it down for a while.. I went to bed
very late last nite, no, I guess I should say I went to couch ,,,
:-) I didn't sleep but a few hours at a time.. This couch is
not good for me.. I cant move on it very easily its too soft and
my hands sink and I get no leverage to move.. A bed or a chair
I'm sure will be a lot better. Plus I have a really sore tender
spot, well- right at the very bottom of my spine.. I could be
more specific, but, use your imagination :-)
I'm ready for my 5 and a snack.. and then back to packing some
more. First my GORGEOUS WEEBLE "nitey nite"... :-)
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? Love ya and thanks bunches!
Always, Lois ****
"God Bless You" is my prayer today,

Hi, Honey,
If your laws on disability are anything like ours, they are obliged to make "reasonable provision" for people with ANY kind of disability. With a bit of luck, the wheelchair access will be courtesy of two strong hunks lifting you and your chair into the building!!
I suppose, to get there on 22nd., they could just wheel you into the back of the truck and tie your chair down!!?? - perish the thought!
I am sure it will all work out O.K. in the end, Honey.
Take care,
Luv Ya,
Raife

Wow Lois
Is there anyway for someone to take a few thing over there for you to be able to spend the night there...
Then you would have a way there, just a thought...
My stomach a little upset tonight.
God bless you Lois

Hi Lois dear,
Just wish we lived over there to help you out a little.
Moving home always causes so much stress for the best of people, but you sure can do without it, & you should be able to get help being disabled.
I am so amazed that the the "disability people or services " over there in America , do not have to organize the the Move of all your things for you.?
This should not happen to anyone disabled in any way.
Grrrrrrr!!
Well dear we are thinking of you & hope & pray that things begin to go better for you & soon you will be in your new home & be happy & find peace once again. You so deserve it Lois.
Will be n touch again soon Hun Bun.
