~Stick Out Thingies~ :-)
I have these 2 protrusions I guess you would call them,
since they stick out about 2 inches in front of this power
chair. Well.. these are causing me serious problems as I
forget and mis judge and well... I put a hole in the wall...
I know, now I'm in trouble.. Donnie will fix it for me I'm
sure.. These 2 stick out things are what the foot things
attach to.. and if they didn't stick out, well I could get
even closer! I noticed a slight scratch on the dishwasher
as well.. I HOPE I didn't do that but.. well, this chair is
very powerful... I make sure every time I stop and stay
still for a while that its shut off.. when I go to transfer
to the other chair I make sure its off.. Ive gotten into
trouble a few times when I havent..... I think they can
be cut off...
In the apartment I was up next to the sink.. and it was
one with nothing under so I could get close to it.. Well,
I didn't shut this chair off, well- not this chair but my
other one and I did something and hit the joy stick and
went forward and got stuck under the sink! The joy stick
had gotten broken off and the end was wedged tight under
the sink.. I had to sit and push and rock back and forth,
it took me forever to get loose, but I had to... Maybe if
I yelled someone out in the hall could hear, but the door
was locked too.. I didn't have my phone with me either.
Things can happen so fast and I try to foresee any sort
of bad move, but sometimes things happen...
I got up during the night the other night and the power
light on the joystick lights up with this VERY BRIGHT
light.. drives the boy nuts... but when I just wake up and
then turn this bright light on , well I'm blinded for a
minute.. I turned the chair, I thought enough but the
light blinded me and I missed the door and hit the wall.
Well.. PUNCH! and those stick out thingies knocked a
hole about the size of a quarter... I was SO MAD! But,
that again is the joys and naturally hazards of being in
a chair.. I only keep the speed on 2.. on 3? my hair
blows back when I hit that hall way.. DONT ask how I
know either :-) 3 is too fast.. 4 or 5, I bet I could race
a car ! :-) I wonder do they have power wheel chair
races? they have every other kind.. I bet that would be
fun.. Nikki would race down the hall at the apartment
and was guess who? My sister, Shirley, wanting to know
what dress I had on ... :-) NO, that's what I THOUGHT she
said.. She did say whats my address now...She and Stanley
came to bring my Christmas presents :-) As bad a day as it
is, I was surprised, but Stan, well he can drive in anything.
Penny was going to come today and I called and told her to
stay home and get better and be safe.. There is no reason
that she HAS to go out on a day like today.. we're sposta
get 4 or more inches of snow and I believe it too... Hasnt
stopped since I got up...
My sis brought some great goodies all useful stuff like TP
and paper towels and laundry soap, candy.. stuff she knows
costs me extra.. and this is a great help.. She brought me 2
as in TWO.. BOLTS of lace material!!! one in a beautiful
blue and the other is pink.. LACE.. I will make my kitchen
curtains.. When Stan got here I asked him to check out
the draft in the kitchen.. well he did.. the window above
the sink was open at the top! I bet they did that to air
this place out.. Stan checked every window for me and
every one of them was open... He fixed them all and I can
tell a big difference in here already.. The furnace isnt
clicking on near as much.. That's a relief.. We had a nice
visit was so good to see them..They both look good.. And
they enjoyed playing with Dutch and his lazer light... They
stayed quite a while but the snow was and is still steady
coming down.. They both were very impressed with my
new house and commented on how nice it was.. I'm glad
my sis got to see it then she will know what to look for
when she goes shopping :-) She always picks up stuff
for one of us.. Me, or one of her kids, shes good that
way and I am most grateful .. Shes a good sister....
Well Ive had a nice break and I need to get some more
done before this day is done.. I am so very thankful for
everything the Lord has blessed me.. Such great family,
and some of the best friends a woman could have.. Life
really is good.. :-) Time to post, have lunch and get back
to work.. First this GRATEFUL GORGEOUS WEEBLE
has to say "Nitey Nite"... :-)
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and THANKS!
Always, Lois ****

Hi, Honey,
Ask Donald to bring his hack-saw with him next time he comes over. I think if he turns the blade through 90 degrees (you can do that on most hack-saws) it would be easy to take those two bits of tube off. He might even have a pair of rubber plugs to tidy up the holes.
It's no good, I am going to have to come over the pond and sort you out!! ;o)
Take care, Honey,
Luv Ya,
Raife

Lois Dear,
Ask your helper to put 1/2" or 3/4" foam pipe wrap on those foot holders... don't saw them off, it will wreck the chair..
Love to you,
Will
