~Prayers For Haiti~
Ive been looking at some of the news shows about
the earthquake in Haiti.. How sad...My sisters hubby,
Stanley, is a missionary to Haiti.. Ive not called them
as I know hes probly on the phone a lot since computers
would more'n likely not be up and running. I think that's
how he stays more in contact with his missionary friends
down there. I do hope none of Stan's people have been
hurt or killed... I am surprised it didn't set off a
tsunami like that other quake did... I'm glad it didn't !
Haiti needs our prayers thats for sure...
Haiti needs our prayers thats for sure...
Stan goes there every 6 months or so delivering things
that he collects from different churches that donate
to the people there. I think one time a company had
donated radios that ran on solar..100's of them. Not
every one down there has electricity. The news says
its one of the poorest countries in the world.. That's
so sad.
Penny and I were talking about growing up in the good
years, and how glad we were that we hadnt been born
back in the 1800's, just the thought, we both thought
it at the same time... about the pottys being outside,
in another building, the out house.. I think I even have
a photo of the one that was at my grand parents, they
used it before they put one indoors... :-) BRRRRRR....
I couldn't even IMAGINE having to do that.. the
closest I ever came to using an outhouse was when
we would stop along the highway and the bathrooms
there were holes in the ground.. I HATED those
things.. but some times you have NO choice.. :-(
When I was about 10 or so, not sure.. I had to go
when we were on one of our Sunday excursions.
Dad stopped at a roadside place that had, of course,
out houses.. Dad knew I didn't really like them, but
I had NO choice! It was that or P my pants ! :-) Well,
I jump out of the car and make a mad dash for that
out house, opened the door, and proceeded to do
what I had gone in there for.. The only light was
from shapes, cut in the top of the walls.. I didn't
like that either, I was always scared a snake or
something ugly would craw out of the hole! :-)
My dad was a joker, he liked to tease and play jokes
on people.. he was a happy man... He got me quite a
few times because I was such a scaredy. Well- I'm
sitting there, suddenly theres a LOUD BANG !
on the wall.. My first thought was something was
coming out of that hole.. I jumped straight up, my
pants around my knees and ran out of that outhouse
like it was on fire.. ! Scared to death.. I hear my
dad laughing and there he is, running back to the
car... I was so embarrassed.. there was only my
mom and sister in the car, I was SO glad we were
not on one of the WHOLE family Sunday excursions,
where all my aunts and uncles and cousins would
have been there too!! :-)
Well its time to post and go and have some left
over meat pie.. Penny just gets better and better
making them.. She says she makes a huge pan of
it for her people and they really like it... :-) The
boy called yesterday and I told him I had meat
pie.. poor kid whined and said "I cant come over
NOW! Save me some!" He said he would be
here Friday or Saturday.. I think I will surprise
him and have Penny make him his own to take
home... He would like that.. :-) Penny says I spoil
Donnie... :-) Well hes good to me and well worth
it... :-) Hes a good man...
This GORGEOUS WEEBLE is ready to eat.. so its
time for my warning of "I shall return!" :-)
Always, Lois ****
God Bless You, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...
