~Snowin ALL Over the World~

They's snowed in ! :-)
Ines is clearing off her green house...Their dog, Holly is a happy dog
with the snow :-)
Shovel, shovel, shovel.. joys of snow :-)
The weather is changing all over the world. My
friend Raife in the UK said they got 7 inches of
snow where he lives.. The roads are so narrow
over there I cant imagine one of our big plows
going down one of their country roads.. If you
keep some heavy stuff, I used to carry cat litter
and a cement block before I had my rear wheel
drive Reliant.. The weight in the trunk helps with
traction.. Penny has both in her trunk... Plus my
snow shovel :-) Cat litter works great ifn you get
stuck... They arent used to this kind of snow over
there like we are.. South Haven got DUMPED on
big time.. they have over 2 FEET of snow.. BUT
they are used to it and have all the necessary
equipment...Just like every town that deals with
a lot of snow... The pictures are of Raifes yard
in the UK. He needs a snow blower !

Winter is a fun time.. They have snow mobile
races that are quite dangerous sometimes.. Up
in Eagle River, Wisconsin, which isnt far from
where I lived in Stambaugh, well Iron River now.
We went to the races when they first became
popular.. But upper Wisconsin and upper Michigan
to live there year round you have to be an out door
person.. Ice fishing is MOST popular.. David, my
last ex... LOVED ice fishing and I HATED it... I
was NOT happy when he went... yet I got him his
first ice fishing pole and equipment because I
just didn't know what to get him for that Christmas
we lived in Green Bay... He didn't ice fish when we
lived up at home... But David LOVED to ice fish.. I
cannot handle walking out on the ice at all...

David wanted to ice fish a river he knew had lots
of fish...his buddies had told him about it and
where to go... So we went one Saturday.. He parked
the car, got out ALL his stuff, by now he had a power
drill that did the holes, a portable shack and I KNOW
at least 4 poles... The first time he got his power
drill , its like a big drill bit with a motor on it... he
came home and told me he didn't fish at all... He was
having too much fun drilling the holes for all the other
guys that didn't have one.. I think he said he drilled
over a dozen of them.. :-) Men and their toys :-)

Anyway, he parked by the side of that river and David
wanted me to go with him, I refused.. I was NOT
walking out on that ice.. I just couldn't do that.. I have
a huge phobia about deep water, that I knew was
under that ice.. No.. I was NOT going.. I sat and watched
as David dragged all his stuff out there all alone with
no company... the longer I sat there the guiltier I felt..
It took EVERY ounce of will power, but I started the
longest walk I think I ever took in my life and I KNOW
it had to be the worst.. Every step I took towards
David, the more my stomach flipped over.. my knees
got really shakey and I started to get really nauseous,
PUKEY in other words.. After a few more steps, I
went down to my knees, I hear David yell at me "Boo!
are you ok?" I raised my head and waved my hand at
him as if to say "ya, I'm just pukey great".. :-) I
continued the crawl out to David and had to stop
every few crawls to throw up.. I would look down
at my hands on that ice, see the cracks, and that's
all it took.. :-)

By the time I reached David, he was trying to be
so calm about it.. I could see he was smiling.. Cant
you just picture a woman crawling on all fours
across a frozen river puking every few feet? I
was SO glad there were no other fishermen , I
didn't see any... He told me "You didn't have to
come out here, the fish arent biting anyway and
I'm ready to head back in".. That's all it took..
I jumped up and ran like a scalded ape back to
shore and the safety of LAND!!! I did NOT look
back and I didn't even WAIT for David... :-)
I did NOT accompany him again on a ice fishing
trip.. One time.. was enough.. I tried.. NOT for
me at all :-)

Well .. what IS for me is to post this and get
some lunch.. Roast beef today with some of
my good fries.. I'm gonna make my own roast
beef Manhattan sandwich.. MMMMM But
just so you know.. This GORGEOUS WEEBLE
will return! :-)

Always, Lois ****
God Bless You, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

    Hi, Honey,
Gave Holly her cup of tea after she got back from her "walkies" this morning and then her breakfast. She took two mouthfuls and then I opened the kitchen door. She left her food and rushed out. That is VERY unusual behaviour for a Lab. I guess they were crossed with pigs way back in history!!!
When she got back indoors, Holly kept looking at me as if to say "C'mon, Dad, throw me some more snowballs!"
I got the Subaru clear of snow later, that's the one on the left, and went down our lane and around the village and back again O.K. Thank goodness for four wheel drive!
    Take care, Honey,
    Luv Ya,
    Raife
