~Happy Birthday To My Son~ :-)
Today is my oldest son's birthday, Richard's.. He
is 45 today... I was trying to remember what time
of day he was born.. but I don't remember.. Evening
I think... His father named him.. I said I wanted to
name him after my dad and grandpa.. Ralph Sidney.
Danny disagreed and TOLD me his name is RICHARD!
I got to pick out his middle name which is Daniel...Its
I got to pick out his middle name which is Daniel...Its
a good name, but hurt my dads feelings because he
has a brother named Richard and thought perhaps
he was name after him.. which he most certainly was
NOT. I think I only ever remember seeing my Uncle
Richard but one time.. My dad had 2 brothers and 2
sisters...Richard and Lawrence and Helen and Deliah..
My aunt Helen was a secretary for one of the presidents
for a while I was told. I know she worked in Washington.
We never saw her very much.. All of my dads siblings
moved away, the closest was Lawrence, they lived in
Ironwood, west, in Michigan but over by the Minnesota
border..
Well... I got off the subject didn't I? :-) I warned my
son I was gonna put a photo of him here and gave him
the option to decide WHICH one.. He did not give me
an answer before I posted this.. so I got to pick ! :-)
This is one of my favorites of him.. He was 3 years old.
Cute kid hey? And a good one too.. He and his brother
were close, best buddies, but they each had such
different personalities it was amazing.. Richard was
quiet, easy going.. very smart.. Mark was very smart,
but he was very active, always antsy, wanting to do
something.. And it took a lot to keep his concentration
on one thing if he wasn't enjoying it.. But they were
both good boys...
I wish I had all the photos I know I HAD.. over the
years they have gotten lost or stolen ... Most of these
I have were ones I had sent to my parents that I
kept when I had to give Gayle the photo albums...I'm
glad I did.. I look for any excuse to go through my
photos.. then I make a mess and havta clean it up.. I
have 4, no 5 albums and 4 tins .. The albums seem
to have kinda emptied themselves out into the tins..
the tins I mean by tin boxes..with lids.. I keep saying
I'm gonna put them back,, but I never do.. I want
to get my VCR tapes put on cd too.. I dunno how to
do that..
I have 3 spools of old 8mm tapes, movies my dad took
years ago.. very old ones.. and I LOVE them.. My sister
had them transferred to VCR tapes.. so I have both
versions.. but I would like to have them put onto cd.. I
think they would be safer.. Ive heard its better to
have the old 8mm .. Id love to get some of the photos
off of it.. :-) My dad was as bad as me for constantly
taking snapshots or movies when they got the movie
camera.. Mom was the snapper one :-) I had to give
Gayle all the photos... :-(
Anyhoway.. Rebecca phoned... she was sick last week
and will be here tomorrow.. So will Penny :-) Not a lot
for Penny to do .. I'm trying to stretch things as this
is really a 5 week month for me.. which means I have
to tighten up a tad to get to the 1st :-) Joys of being
on a strict budget.. Not easy sometimes.. but .. well...
I do the best I can...
I downloaded 57 photos this morning but I'm not
gonna put them all here .. I had 2 of the kitties here
at the same time.. Was cute.. I got quite a few of
them.. The gray bad eared tiger and one of the orange.
They respected each others space... I was surprised..
I would have hated to see a cat fight :-) I LOVE my
I would have hated to see a cat fight :-) I LOVE my
backyard :-) Takes so little to amuse the elderly :-)
hahaha... :-D
hahaha... :-D
This GORGEOUS WEEBLE is NOT elderly by any means..
well some days I DO feel 90.. :-) but all in all I have
been feeling pretty good lately.. "Thank You Lord!" :-)
Time to post.. and find some lunch.. Happy Birthday
Richard :-) Remember.. I shall return !!! ;-)
Always, Lois ****
God Bless You, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

Hi, Honey,
There's bound to be a firm somewhere not too far from you who could put those 8mm films on disc. I've got a few that I ought to have done, including an animated cartoon I made when I was training to be a teacher. I'm lucky enough to have a really good Canon scanner that does transparencies and B & W negatives. Works SO well with a Canon printer. I get real, professional results.
Your Richard was a real, good looking kid, wasn't he? Guess he took after his Mom!!!
Take care, Honey,
Luv Ya,
Raife
