~Music, Music, Music~

I was talking to a friend today about music.. being Christmas time all the
songs you only hear once a year.. and we never seem to get tired of them.
There are lots of new Christmas songs I've heard some really cute ones.
we still go back to the old favorites..they just are the best... and I dont think
will ever fade or that we will ever get tired of hearing Silent Night or Joy To
the World..I love Over The River and Thru The Woods.. how many times I
have sung those songs... and still do...

I find no matter what mood Im in or what time or season of the year there
are songs that can make you cry and some..well you just have to tap your
feet to.. I still tap my invisible ones.. I can listen to a good rock and roll
oldie..and I can get this chair to rockin now, let me tell you..I LOVE good
music.. this chair will move back and forth and I just have a good time here
listening to all these songs. I know so many good places to go and find
them.. I prefer wavs.. as then I can put them into my email and send to any
one.. I like to put music into all the letters I send... I enjoy that.. why I enjoy
the Incredimail email program. I can put music into all my letters and I DO
LOVE to get MAIL lol.. *HINT HINT* I will answer if you write to me you
know.EVERY one I get I answer as soon as I can, I like to write but I bet
you didn't know that did you? :-)

Its amazing how some songs I play I find my boys even like.. I have some
with some bird sounds..and they will look at my speakers..and just tip
their heads lookin at them ...I know Dutch is thinkin "hmm birds in there?"
Hes so funny he jumps up on the window and tries to catch them when he
sees them outside I put bread out for them and both LB & Dutch love to
watch the birds.

I used to love to dance.. I would go every week end that i could .. to hear
the bands or even just the juke box.. and just dance my feet off lol..was
fun.. If I couldnt find anyone to dance with me I just sat and danced in
my chair..well I guess I am doing the same thing now. I dance in my chair.
I remember when I lived in Pasadena..TX..the home of Mickey Gilleys.. I
have been in there many many times. I saw Willie Nelson sing there, was
THAT a treat.. That man can sing.. his Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain? well
that song can make you . does me.. tingle ...:-) he can sing to me ANY
time he wants to.. Or Randy Travis..He HAS a voice now.. what a guy, I
just saw a concert of his that was on one of my 120 channels..Lord, this
cable is such a blessing too...see? they are just EVERYWHERE. :-)..

When I was little I remember all we had then was a radio..and till the day my
mom died..she had a radio in every room of her house.. Even in the bath
room when you walked in there, turned on the light the radio came on and
would play the whole time you were in there.. However, was ONE rule.. DO
NOT change the station ! I can still hear my mother singing those old hymns,
In The Garden, or her favorite It Is No Secret, What God Can Do. Precious
Memories, how many times she told me thats what they did when they were
young how music was a good part of their lives, when a wonderful evening
consisted of the whole family together listening to the radio. I think it is for
everyone.. and it can lift you up when you are so down... . even when it can
make you cry..it can still be a good thing..after the tears stop.
you do feel better.
..
Speaking of tears I think my tummy is cryin...Lunch was cancelled today as
we have OVER a foot of snow..and more on the way.. Poor Jane called
said "Lois..I think I am snowed in.. I will try and let you know". I told her not
to worry about it and enjoy a snow day.. I got up--no- I was WOKE up at
4:30 this morning to the sound of snow plows..sounded like they were out
in the hallway.!. But the snow came down so hard last nite, we got 2 inches
a minute it said or something like that no, i think an hour - a minute? No, lol
wow we WOULD be buried lol All I know Is we got alot .. I bet Donnie is
having fun.. He has a plow on his truck and loves to plow..so I bet hes doing
some driveways of his neighbors, I KNOW they are glad he moved in by
them...He just got a lovely new home on a lake I am so pleased for them..
but I admit I am a bit jealous.. on a lake..how wonderful..Hes worked hard
to get it and I'm so proud of him..he deserves it. Donnie is one of my
dearest blessings. I've enjoyed him being an adopted son for almost 23
years now, wonderful man.

I watched a concert last nite a symphony..saw a 3 year old little boy..play the
violin named Akim..what a wonderful child he is.. He made so many people
smile last nite what an amazing boy.. The conductor of the symphony and
evrery one had tears in their eyes watching this little man play so beautifully
what a treat that was .. and I just happened accross it on our PBS station..
See? Music....and only 3.. and on that note. I think I hear my kitchen singing
Come & Dine... :-)

Y'all have a good one now y'hear..listen to the music..its so good for you..
yes AK, Momar, Raife? I know you all love music... :-) Luv ya,, & thanks.!
Always, Lois ***
.
.
May God Bless you today,
I'm so honored to call you friend,
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

I grew up with radio - I have 4 or 5 radios my favorite is an aiwa boombox. If it is on I can push one button and switch stations. I have a sirius satellite radio which has a lot of channels for a news junkie like me. There are 2 npr channels, one BBC, one world radio network channel and Sirius just added 5 cbc channels from canada. I could stay home all the time and just listen to the radio. As it is I watch 3 hours a day of tv - news.

Momar, what are you doing up at 2:20 in the morning.?. You are as bad as me for a sleep schedule :-)

I remember alot of my favorite radio shows like Sky King and Sargent Preston of the Yukon. We all had our favorites but we all would sit and listen together, Things have so changed, now everyone each has their own, in their own rooms. they dont realize what they are missing, the togethnerness.closeness of family.

Ahhh thats why you are up at that early hour listening to the radio,
I dont watch very much news, I get seriously depressed when I see alot of what is happening its gotten so bad. .

Color me like an ostrich with its head in the sand, I dont want to know . . I can only deal with what is happening right here where I am..that is plenty, and sometimes WAY too much!
Have a good day my friend,
    Always, Lois***

    Dear Lois,
We are so lucky here in the U.K. We have "Classic F.M." that plays classics 24/7. The disc jockeys are great guys and gals, each with a style of their own.
Mozart is my great fav. Listening to his symphonies feels like falling in love all over again - a lot of the same emotions.
I love singing carols at Easter and Christmas, too, just as you do. Jamie Crick, on Classic F.M. said this morning that carols come up fresh when we hear them because we only hear them for one month of the year. Guess he's right.
You can log on to Classic F.M. on your 'puter, they will even play your requests on some of their programs.
Love and big HUGS from Raife.

They can give us fits, but SO much pleasure..Brings the WHOLE world right to your home, what a blessing.

My boys wont sing along with me sadly, they seem to hide when Mom starts singing LOL... :-)
