~Guess What???~

I woke up HAPPY today ! Now isn't that just great??
I don't know how this happened, but I sure am glad! I got
alot of sleep the past few days .. I wasnt up for very long
periods of time and I guess I just need the rest..I think
when I do feel good like today, then I try to do too much,
and poop my self out then I still feel good the 2nd day,
and keep going, then by the 3rd I'm ready to sleep & rest
for 3 ! Only thing I can figure out.Its not spring yet So I dont
think I have springfever.. I used to drive myself nuts every
spring wanted to change things around, you know clean
real good and move the furniture around, change the
curtains, maybe move some wall stuff..Spring CLeaning ..

I moved in here , hmm whats the date today?. Jan, 11th
2002, I moved in here, TODAY.now isn't that co-incidence?
I know I can remember when I moved in.. I had the bare
essentials Mona from a disability center helped me get
this apt, and she had EVERYTHING set up for me to just
come in.bed made, food, everything on... even found a
nurse and care giver for me. I was set to go. just needed
to get my things that survived out of my sisters garage.
And I woke up happy today wonder if thats the reason?

I would give anything to have my apartment "spring
cleaned" things redone, walls WASHED..or repainted.
4 yrs.. I know the wall stuff has been the same..only
thing moved ONCE was the couch and just across from
where it is now only 2 walls it can go on.Its a nice size
living room.. I'm no good with measurements but I asked
my ex how big my living room was. he said maybe 15x15
or so...nice size.but one wall is not there it is wide open
to the kitchen..only difference is in the floor.. the wall
opposite that is another door. So the couch can only
occupy 2 walls. But its time to move to the other side.
The couch I have, that miraculously survived was my
mothers.. and it honestly, looks as good today as it did
when she got it new, I bet..25 years ago, at least I had
it cleaned when they brought it out of storage.
And its just as comfy...But good furniture never dies....

I can move it myself ya, I know. but I use my power chair
and it moves any thing. But I cant get the blocks of wood
back under the legs, I've tried. lol..well, I wanted, it done..
so I HAD to wait, anyway, My sis came & Stanley, he put
the blocks back
under Well. I get impatient and want things
done yesterday.

My mom was like that, do it, get it done and over with and
its finished, move on. so thats how I am.. I can see things
that she did, that I didnt KNOW then it left an impression
on me.As I get older I see alot of her, and she was NOT my
birth mother, but she IS in me.I can see alot of how I am.that
she put there. I think the same is VERY true of my dad, I see
alot of the way I am, how I react and the courage maybe?
that I KNOW i got from my dad.. How to really LIVE my life..
that I can do anything.. I CAN do it..

I STILL would LOVE to have my apartment SPRING cleaned
YESTERDAY lol I'll figure out something.. It is time it was
done.I think there is a guy over at the COA that will do
heavy duty cleaning etc . I should check it out and see
what he charges...I wonder if he does closets :? lol...

Well that explains the happy today,, I was just going into
the kitchen and looking at my sink.. well its empty now ,
with my shelf gone.. I forgot to ask Donnie to put a nail
in that wall for me I was going to change it around where
I have my pen & ink drawings I did back in the 80's they
are really nice. I did 2 of them. and I have some very old
pictures up there and a nice clock,, not a chimer, just a
ticker but was specially painted for me with a snow scene,
really nice so I thought would be cute above the sink. Now
I just have to think of a way to hang it up there. I wonder
if Penny would come over and do it..I hate to ask,

I want you to know,, Donnie picked up his cabbage rolls.
Halupki's I dont know if I spelled that right.. I think is
Hungarian, My 1st husbands mother was Hungarian,
married to an Italian. now talk about some good food?
ya. I learned some GREAT cookin. I can make some killer
pasta too .Anyway, I asked Donnie to let me know how
he liked them. My phone rang about 45 minutes after he
left all i heard him say is "M M M" I think he liked them.
I have to admit they really were good I told him I almost
didn't give him his pan lol.So now you know,I AM a great
cook..Donnie will give me reference, so will Dawn all she
said was " M M GRAN "well worth the time making them.
Took a good 3 hours to make-, including baking time of
2 so say 4 half and gone in 10 minutes LOL.
good food does that to ya..

I saved one of mine. wont be out there for long. thats
where I am headed, wish I would have taken one out
of his now lol...oh well..I can make more, I'm taking
applications for a spring cleaner :-)

Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? Luv ya .. & thanks..
ALways, Lois ***

May God Bless you today,
I'm so honored to call you friend,
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

ah cooking and eating! In NYC there are a few good hungarian restaurants. The Austro-Hungarian empire produced great food and great cafes. I lived for a while in St. Gallen, Switzerland and some of that cooking drifts all through Switzerland. Rigo Jancy is one of their best pastries. It takes about 4 hours to make it. In better restaurants they have a separate pastry chef. I once heard of a man who made a special flight to Vienna to get some rigo janci. The Hungarians have great music - think of Bartok. We once had a Hapsburgh princess stay overnight at our house.
