~12 Tomatoes & Company! ~

Penny went out yesterday and counted 12 tomatoes on my

2 little plants out there.. That's pretty good I think.. I wish I

could take better care but well I cant and Penny is doing a

good job the days shes here, she makes sure they are

watered really well..As small as they are she may have to

stake them up more so they don't break off.. I hope they all

ripen.. Fresh tomato sandwiches are so good.. I like to just

cut the tomato up and put a little Miracle Whip on it..some

salt and pepper..and now THAT is really good... When I

lived out at the lake with my 2nd husband, in Indiana we had

a huge garden, plus I would buy extra bushels of different

veggies or fruit I wanted to put up..well can.. I did a lot of

tomatoes as I used them alot..I did peaches, beets, any

thing I could.. Plus I made a lot of jam.. I miss those fresh

things.. Sure brightened up a winter day to bring out some

fresh canned veggies or some good spaghetti sauce made

out of those great tomatoes... Food is so good for you..I

LOVE good food... I think that's why I like to cook and I think

that is what makes a good cook... :-)
My poor rose bush that made me so sad when I saw all the

leaves chewed off.. it is coming back to life..Look at all the

new leaves..and if you look by the arrows ..you will see there

are 2 buds on it..Its going to bloom again.. I bet if I had stopped

what ever it was eating it , it would have stayed blooming all

this time.. Whomever it was took a lot of care when they planted

all the great flowers that are around the house.. Its a shame the

condition they are in now.. specially after they all got buried in

the shingles they threw down off the roof.. Which..by the way,

what is it now 2 ..weeks..since Chris called Kenny, the 29th I

think it was..well Kenny boy still has NOT shown up to fix the

ceiling in here.. I don't know what to do about it.. But this is

already getting very old...

I had the nicest surprise last nite.. My phone rang and it was

Becky,that used to be my caseworker with APS..She and I

are still in contact as she is a animal lover and keeps me up

on the things ARF is doing here.. I wish I could help them more,

If I had a bigger house I would offer to be a halfway house for

homeless pets when their owner has passed on.. they need

a lotof TLC those pets..they don't understand.. and its hard for

them..Here its just too small and I couldnt..I sure would LOVE

to have a dog tho..

Becky phoned and said she was headed down the street out

side towards my house, she had been to Meijers..so she called

and asked if I would like some company for a little while..which I

sure did..and we had the nicest visit.. she stayed for a few hours

till she realized it was getting dark and she had pets at home

waiting to go for a walk.. She is going to go to the Centreville

County Fair..it starts Sunday, I sure would love to go... I asked

if she thought would be accessible by chair..she said yes, but

I would still maybe need some help as there were grassy spots

and cords.. I cant remember the last time I went to a fair.. I bet

its 10 years at least.. I was glad she stopped by, it made my

evening go really fast and by the time she left I really was tired

and ready to go to bed.. I don't think I even got up once last

nite..

Lunch today was COA's version of sweet and sour chicken..
Well it was sour..and it sure wasnt sweet at all, it looked awful

and I tried doctoring it up..well some things just cant be fixed.

I am hungry for my fav, a PB&J I think tomorrow I will have

Penny go and get some bananas.. Last Wednesday was

so hetic we totally spaced out going and getting the free food

they give out once a month.. with that horrible woman here,

by the time she left Im lucky I remembered my name...But, I do

remember where the kitchen is and my PB&J..and then

some TV and Im tired.. I probly wont see a lot of it.. I see

more of it when I WAke up during the night and its still on

I watch it then for a longer time till I can go back to sleep..

Time to get rolling to the end of this day... "Nitey Nite"
