~A Great Bike Parade~ :-)
I was sitting at my kitchen table and saw people across the street in
chairs, some standing, I wondered if there was going to be a parade.
A few minutes went by, and a police car came thru, slowly, lights
flashing and siren... I kept watching, and that white truck out there
stopped, I looked down the street and there were the motorcycles.
1000 at least it seemed to me.. I watched I bet for at least 45 minutes
as they went by.. if not longer, there were so many.. was great...They
are part of the Sturgis Toy Run.

There were so many different kinds of bikes, some had single riders,
men and I saw some women as well. I saw one lady on a hot pink bike,
she looked wonderful.. There were 3 wheelers.. Some were so loud,
you KNOW that they were Harley's ..you can tell the sound of one of
the people that were waving at them they waved back, the man in
the truck every so often would blow his horn.. This ride was for such
a good thing.. And to sit and enjoy this parade of all these wonderful
people I enjoyed that so much.. I took so many photos it was hard
to decide which ones I wanted to put here..As I watched these bikes
I thought that I bet I could still ride one of those. Some of them I saw
I know I could..specially the side car one.. :-)
Most had flags, the single riders for their passengers had huge
Most had flags, the single riders for their passengers had huge
stuffed animals.. This bike ride was to promote toys for children at
Christmas..to show that bikers are NOT bad people at all.. Ive
known many and Ive found them to be loyal, honest, dedicated and
good people to have as a friend..I have a friend is a lawyer has one
of the most gorgeous Harleys..almost as GORGEOUS as me :-)
Some of the bikes were older ones..and the colors of some were
Some of the bikes were older ones..and the colors of some were
just wonderful.. I wish I had thought in time to take a video..but I
was so pleased to see this that half the time I was too busy watching
and NOT taking photos.. I enjoyed this..Every so often the sound
got really loud and the cats would step back..was cute to see them,
I bet they wondered just what they were :-)

The people next door stood out in front of their house, one of the
bikers pulled out of the line and rolled onto his grass, stopped
and got off his bike, ran up to the man and they hugged and laughed,
they must not have seen each other in a long time.. He had a great
so the boys could see too.. I am afraid to let them out there its not
been kitty proofed and I fear they could get under the ramp and get
stuck too.. I cant see the sides of it.. But I hold the screen and they
sit there too..we all 3 enjoyed the parade today.. Ive never seen
that many bikes at one time..was great... Look at my flowers there
on the right..They almost bit the dust they got so droopy.. Penny
had forgotten to water them ..they're perking up..

The home nurse came by today to do an assessment to see if I
really need a home nurse, usually for just blood pressure readings,
they dont..she was disturbed tho by the fact I don't take an aspirin
a day and am not on any heart meds.. She took my blood pressure
with her monitor, it read 169/97..which is good for me..So then she
says, lets take it with yours.. so we did..it read, 197/94 ..arrrghhhh..
so then we do the right arm.. it reads.. 204/97... so I dunno.. she
was surprised at how it went up and down in just his bit of time..
we didn't take these right one after the other..there was time in
between.. So anyway she will let me know whats what.. I still had
a nice time watching the parade...
Now Im going to go and have the lunch I didn't have because I
watched this parade.. I think the Sturgis Toy Run has a site on the
net.. I read about it in the paper, I didn't know they were coming
down this street tho.. im glad they did...Hope you had a good SAT
Day..I did.."Nitey Nite".. :-)
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya, and Thanks!! :-)
Always, Lois ****
God Bless you, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again.....

The only bike I ever rode was a BMW - which was like a rolls royce. It purred. The driver was a Delta air-line pilot a friend of my aunt's who also worked for Delta.
Here in NYC we have monthly rides on bicycles called Critical Mass. They must have 10,000 bicycles.
