~Rainy Sunday~
Its a rainy Mother's Day today. Did you know birds go out
in the rain? I was sitting and looking at my now empty bird
feeder and there were birds all over it.. Even my Gorgeous
Cardinal was by this morning.. It was raining so hard I could
see the big splashes as it hit the top of the feeder.. The birds
did NOT care.. I know I see them in birdbaths and that they
arent afraid of water, but I honestly never paid attention before
that they do go flying around even when its raining.. I have seed
all over the ground out there and Penny will have to go and get
some more seed to refil it.
I looked at the morning glories Penny planted by the bottom of
the fence and I bet they are an inch high already.. That flower
bed needs cleaned out so bad.. I could do it if I could get out
there.. My rose bushes are coming along really good, this red
one by the window is doing great.. I noticed that my new
impatients that are in the box seem to be liking the rain.. They
are protected a bit by that big cedar tree out there. That needs
trimmed, but well Chris doesn't seem to think so.
I have a very good friend that is still in the tree service and I am
debating on calling him to come and check out these trees. I
have so much dead wood out in the yard that has come out of
these trees and that's NOT good.. I don't expect him to do any
of this tree stuff for nothing so Im going to see how much it is
then give the estimate to Chris..It would be to his benefit to
take care of these trees or he will have another house like he
did last year that a tree fell on because it needed work and he
didn't do it.. I sure don't want these trees coming down on this
house, as bad as some of our storms have been It could easily
happen...
Last summer we had tornado warnings, and Donnie and Dawn
live west of me about 20 miles maybe, not far. We were having
some serious wind and the whole 9 yards of this storm.. I was
sitting on my bed watching TV and the phone rang, was them.
Donnie says "Gran, the storm is really bad, Im in my basement,
where are you , you need to get to your basement" I laffed at him
cuz he knew I couldn't get in the basement.. I told him " Donnie,
honey, I think I would rather sit here on my bed covered with
pillows than kill myself rolling this chair down those basement
steps!" .. he laughed.. I had no place to hide, and here I have
a huge basement down there.. oh well.. all I could do was just
sit and pray and watch TV till the storm passed, it did and no
damage, that's the joys of summer though.. Bad storms..
Ive not done anything today and I was surprised when I looked
at the time, where did today go? I havent eaten anything and I
am hungry but I have no idea what would taste good.. My
appetite has diminished a lot lately..Even Rebecca and Theresa
say I have lost weight! Now, that's great!.. I don't see it..but
if they do that works for me.. my work is in the kitchen, so its
time for my GORGEOUS WEEBLE "nitey nite"... :-)
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and THANKS!! :-)
Always, Lois ****
God Bless you, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again.....

Gorgeous one,
I'm back for a few days. So glad you are doing so much better. You look great in the photo - is that a new one?
Thanks for keeping us up to date on the birds - we enjoy watching them here. And yes, they do come out in the rain - they have to eat no matter what...
You take care. I'll be catching up with you.
Bare Hugs,
Butty
