~Picnics~
and came across this one.. That's me of course, and that's
my grandparents, my dads parents.. Ruby Deliah was my
grandmother and they called my grandfather I.N. His name
was Irwell Newton... great people.. Look at the look on my
face as I look at my grandmother..shes telling me to look at
my mother that is taking the photo.!. :-) I examined the table
contents..look at the old milk bottle..and see the coffee pot
on the end? I still have it..its in the kitchen on my bakers
rack.. I have 2 old milk bottles from a dairy that my family
once owned and it looks like that one there on the table...
Whats so neat about the picture is you see we are on a picnic,
was planned you can tell by the tablecloth etc...Look at my
grandfather...hes got on a beautiful hat..and hes in a suit
and tie no less.. Look at my grandmother all dressed.. They
were very influential people and always looked their best.. I
have ONE photo of my grandfather looking like just anyone
else..but he was a very fussy man.. I loved him dearly but he
was very stern and to the point..he loved me I know, but he
still intimidated me.. I wrote a story about my grandfathers
desk its on my bravehost site.. if you look at the side, it says
My Stories..click on that and it will take you to my bravenet
site, there are 2 storys there, how I got my name, Butterfly
and a story about my grandfathers desk that I wrote.. I
think theyre good storys but I wrote them :-D...
Well, miracles never cease, did you know that? My phone rang
Well, miracles never cease, did you know that? My phone rang
this morning and guess who? BigDaddyKen.. I called him again
last nite to remind him about the basement..He phoned and said
he was bringing Diane over to wash and paint it... About noon
Diane walked in the door carrying 3 cans of paint and an extension
cord AND a huge bag of stuff to wipe down the walls.. About 3
Ken came and picked her up and asked "Did you get any paint on
the walls?" she had paint all over her. about 1 or so I yelled
down to her and asked if she needed a soda which she sure
did.. she came up and sat here with me for a while and we
chatted ..shes VERY nice.. and I did ask for permission to
put her photo here..Meet Diane..
Ken checked it out down there and informed me that the smell
is gone..for a while at least, I thought that....:-) but I also did
mention the tree outside that's dead.. his reply to that was,
"yes I saw it but we get our weather from the west so if it
comes down it will hit his house or the other neighbor"....
so hes done nothing.. If we get a storm..that one being dead,
has no strength.. it will come down like a house of cards.. I
explained to him I DO know trees.. I do know when work
needs done..I told him the shape these trees here in my yard.
well theyre NOT safe, they need thinned out and deadwooded,
we get a storm and a tree is too thick that wind will get up
in that tree and trying to go thru will twist around the tree
thus making the tree turn and loosen and BOOM! its on
the ground.. My ex was up in the bucket truck and saw a
tornado coming.. he hit the down on those controls and by
the time he got half way down he saw it was THERE, he
pole vaulted over the side and almost broke his leg but
he made a mad dash in to the house as that tornado
took out not only that tree he was working on but 1 other
as well !!
I'm late posting today and it is my sons fault.. I was chatting
to him on Yahoo, hes in the UK you know..and we just have
the best time.. Hes such a sweet kid.. and I am PROUD to
say.. hes JUST like his GORGEOUS Mother :-D.. Its almost
scarey we are so alike... I LOVE IT!! :-) well busy day and I
am content.. I got a lovely letter from Raife, and I hate to
be mad at a good friend.. Hes apologized and I know he
was just defending his friends honor when I attacked.. I
wont go into details as its all over now.. I am hoping he
will come back and read my blog and leave me the nice notes
as he did before.. We're all so different and differences of
opinion are bound to happen.. and when someone like me is
on one side of it well.. good luck to the other person :-D..
Time for a snack and to get out of this chair for today I'm
ready for some of my Dibs.. so that means its time for my
GORGEOUS WEEBLE "nitey nite"..
Y'all have a good one now , Y'hear? love ya and thanks :-)
Always, Lois ****
God Bless You, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend"
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
until I write again .....

Good ... Happy to hear Raife is back. At our age ... at any age ... it's a shame to loose a friend.

Family picnics in the summer. In the 1940s we used to have family picnics for Sunday breakfast. then the family would go to the olympic sized pool in the city park. I remember some relatives even came over from France. to visit. After the swim, we would go to a sunday movie. Then in the evening the summer theater for 50 cents a ticket.

Lois you had very nice grandparents, you are blessed. And lot of wonderful memory of your past.
Bob is feeling better today, he even fixed my filing cabinet...and done a few thing outside.
The weather here has been on the hot side. 83 F right now.
