~Visitors~ :-)
I had a surprise visit yesterday from my sister Shirley
and Stanley. :-) Was so nice to see them. We talk maybe
once a week, depends if we have news. They come up
for a visit about once a month or so too. They had a very
fast paced and hectic 2 week trip to upper Michigan.
They were on missionary collections for the people in
Haiti that Stanley goes to see. He will be going again in
September with things for the people there. They
collect clothes and things the people need. A place
down south ships the good to Haiti free of charge,
which helps, all they have to do is get it there, with
these new flat rate boxes might help with costs.
Shirley brought some thread for Penny to make a doily
for her and she brought some material I had asked
about.. one piece is camouflage the others are batman
and of course power rangers. :-) I havent decided what
I'm gonna make out of it yet. I might make a pair of pj's
for Tyler out of the batman fabric. He might be tired of
Power Rangers by now, well no, I kinda doubt that :-)
Shirley is having some severe problems with her feet
and legs. She can barely walk any distance and she cant
stand for long. Its neuropsy. Which is what I had. When
I finally got out of Elkhart hospital after the heart surgery
and then the abdominal bypass that got infected, plus the
leg bypasses I went to Elkhart Rehab. It was not bad
at all there. Crowded, but some really nice people. By the
time I got sent there , was.. I'm not sure, I know was still
summer, lets say August, I know I was out of there by
thanksgiving, I was already in the hell home and that was
November. But I was in a chair even when I had legs...
but they were not dependable and I fell a lot. I worry for
them.
We talked about my brother Kenny and Frank, neither one
of us see or hear from them. Shirley and Stan went to visit
Kenny, hes the 2nd oldest, and said he doesn't look good.
Hes aged so much and can barely walk too. Kenny has severe
diabetes, which so does Shirley and Frank. I'm not diabetic.
I worry for Kenny too. Could you imagine 3 or 4 in a family
losing legs? I hope that this doesn't happen to them. But
its a possibility, specially being diabetic. A lot of amputations
are due to diabetes, I had never heard of PVD or PAD they
call it now, even in nurses training, I had not heard of it.
All the amputees in the hellhome were from diabetes.. and
there were... at least 6 of us there ...
They stayed for a few hours and Stanley gave me a big
hug and WHISKER RUB.. hes so good at that, and hes
strong so you cant escape them cuz he holds you so tight...
but he got me really good I bet my cheek stayed red for
an hour :-) He didn't bring his guitar, apparently Shirley
said "naaah, don't bring it". She hears him all the time...
so she probly didn't want to listen for awhile as he took
it up north and played at all the places they went ! But
he did promise to bring it next time. Hes very talented
when it comes to music.
The music I hear right now is the lunch bell :-) I didn't
eat much yesterday and I sorta woke up hungry I have
NO idea what I want but I always find something :-)
This has been a nice weekend, hope yours was too.. :-)
Time for this GORGEOUS WEEBLE to post this, but...

Hi, Honey,
That was nice, to see your Sis and Stanley. Had my Sis over to-day for Sunday dinner.
I guess a lot of diabetes is due to folks being over-weight and eating the wrong sort of food. If it seems to run in the family, perhaps it would be wise to keep the weight down? A lot of folks over here are over weight. Mostly lack of exercise, I guess. I know, with an arthritic right knee, I have to be careful not to put on weight - I don't get to walk as much as I should.
Take care, Honey and mind that chair don't shrink any more!!
Luv Ya,
Raife

It is always nice to see people unexpectantly. In 1961, I was just sitting down to a scandinavian dessert when the doorbell rang and it was my friend fred just in from Keflevik naval air station in iceland. We had a good laugh when I offered him some rote gruetze as it is called in German.

Honeydear!
So good to read about an ordinary, as it seems problemfree day... With guests in your nice home. I wish it was me that had visited, but it was nice you had a chance to meet your relatives. Well as you know i am diabetic... I hope i can manage many years before they begin to cut my legs... Well everybody doesent get those problems, even if many does... There are far more worse things than loosing legs, as heartproblems as an example. I think my danger is more on that level, with my belly and all... And kidneyproblems is another one, and eyeproblems... Hmm have had some eyesurgerys so that is done, but there are other things to wait for... Lets hope it comes (if it comes), many years from now.
Take care dear!
kisses until
