~Cold Stumps~

Ive noticed this winter that my stumps just
seem to stay cold.. the ends mostly but some
times the whole thing is freezing cold. It
bothers me at times cuz it spreads and ALL
of me is cold then.. I usually wear 2 to3 sweaters
anyway.. if not 2 tops and my shawl work. I
have turned my thermostat down 2 degrees
and I'm hoping that will lower my gas bill.. I
just cant handle the utilities doubling.. puts
me too close to the line.. I could get them
paid if I let them go to shut off, but I hate
to do that cuz it makes ME look bad..So I
just have to keep re adjusting.. I notice
this morning that Dutch's little feet are still
cold..he keeps trying to crawl into my lap..
I still may make them some slippers :-)

I don't have any thing planned for today.
I might do some sewing later. I talked to
my sis the other night and Stanley is doing
great after his bypass, the doctors have
even released him to drive.. Shirley is glad.
She was driving him everywhere he wanted
and needed to go when she wanted and
needed to be home sewing ! :-) I will never
forget what Donnie said when he had to
stay in cuz of his burnt ankle .. "Now I know
how Jerky (dog) feels, why HE's so glad to
get out after being stuck inside all day"...
He would wait at the door just like the dog
for Dawn to come home and take him OUT!
Stanley is very hyper too and for him to be
stuck inside.. He would have to be tied to a
chair if he wouldn't have been released to
drive himself...:-) My sis is VERY GLAD :-)

I got my chair all charged yesterday.. I get
very nervous when my power gauge gets too
close to the red.. If the power went out I
would have to get into my manual if it stayed
off too long. If I couldn't recharge I would
have no choice.. I look down this hall and how
FAR it is into the kitchen.. and.. well I'm most
grateful I have this power one.. I never used
it that much before, mainly when I went out
side at the apartments.. was too hard to get
back up the ramps and open the door to get
back in when I was in my manual one.. I keep
it here in my living room covered with a
quilt.. looks like a regular chair. :-)

I had forgotten to tell Donnie it was my wheel
chair and like a doofus I had forgotten to set
the brake before I covered it.!. So- Donnie is
backing up to sit in it.. his leg hit it.. it went
back.. Donnie almost sat on the floor!!! I make
very sure the brake is on at all times.. I would
hate for my sis or someone to sit in it and it
move and they hit the floor.. This is thin carpet
all through here and then is a concrete slab..
So falling and hitting this floor COULD cause
serious injury if you hit it wrong.. Knock on wood,
I hope I never find out just how hard it is! :-)

Ive felt pretty good this past week, and needless
to say I am VERY happy... My tail bone isnt hurting
and I noticed this morning while I was laying there
doing my daily body scan that the feeling of my
invisible legs felt like they were almost normal and
there ! My feet werent off to the side or turned,
the left most times... the foot is bent or turned
and the invisible leg seems turned towards the left.
That's 99% of the time.. when I actually take note
of how they feel.. Sometimes there is no feeling at
all.. which I really enjoy.. then other times.. well-
those phantoms can be really bad... I can say tho..
ive not been bothered with bad phantoms for awhile.
THAT I am MOST grateful for...

Well this GRATEFUL GORGEOUS WEEBLE is gonna
post this for today.. I ate my whole pasty yesterday
so I will have to see what I can find out there for
my SatDay lunch.. I always find something :-) I
hope you have a warm, safe and good weekend... but!
remember.. I shall return!! :-)

Always, Lois ****

God Bless You, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

    Hello Lois
Would a heating pad help to get them all warm up or a water bottle...My son Leon came in this weekend, never enough time to visit with them...
    God bless you.

Maybe you could train the cats to come nestle down in yo lap to keep the little beauty stumps warm ...

My guy has a Swedish PerMobil electric chair it goes up and down - currently the up-down switch is erratic and he doesn't want the dealer to take the chair to repair it. If your stumps are cold - put a bathtowel around your stumps. I keep my temp at home at 68 (20C) - and it feels cool.

    Hi, Honey,
Latest fashion accessory - Little Leg Sox. These are hand-knitted in a variety of bright colours (Sorry, colors!) in heavy weight wool or acrylic and are guaranteed to keep little legs cozy and warm on the coldest days!!! Or there are special ones in Arran patterns that are particularly warm for really cold days.
    Take care, Honey,
    Luv Ya,
    Raife
