~Jobs~

I got to wondering what I was going to write about tonite, as
far as my day went today. which I did absolutely nothing other
than to get up, feed my boys, make coffee, well my trip to you
know where, and then to turn on this computer. I chatted with a
friend for awhile, ate lunch and all afternoon, I did some mail,
and playing a few games of Majonng, wrote this..and I will log
off shortly, make my usual side trip..and watch tv till I fall asleep.
THIS was my day today. Nothing drastic, no one made me mad,
and no real mishaps..well I did spill some soda on myself when
it fell over, but other than that..well this was today. Thats really
not to bad... I didnt have to get up with the birds and go to a JOB.

Many I bet had a CRAP day.. had to go to WORK!!! lol I know
many do like their jobs..I did..when I worked I seemed to always
have a job I really enjoyed.. I loved managing the motels and
apartments.. I really enjoyed working for the crating company's
when I was in marketing, that was so interesting to see what
sorts of things got shipped overseas and all the things that had
to be done to be able to ship them.. I loved being a nurse..to
care for people, to help them get thru some rough times..its so
hard to be ill and in a hospital..a good nurse has GOT to have
compassion for that person laying there that is more than likely
scared, sad, and so upset..any kind of hospital stay is really
NOT a good thing..well it is..but..its so hard on not only the
patient but the family as well..Want to make Donnie sick? Make
it so he has NO choice but to go..like when he became grandpa..
or when one of the girls were sick..well it made HIM sick to go,
he would throw up at just the thought of having to - - even just
visit a hospital.

I dont have to get up before dawn and go off to the same job
every day and I honestly say, I really DONT miss it.. So many
have worked at the same job for 20, 30 years..doing the same
thing over and over.. I watched a show on tv about extreme
jobs.. and some of the jobs I saw on that I just dont know HOW
anyone could work them.. Well, take being a miner..those brave
men that go deep into the earth..look at the ones that climb up to
build those towering buildings..And especially look at these firemen
that go into those burning buildings. How amazing..And look at me
I sit here safe, sound, I have food. 2 wonderful companions..and
the really worst part of my day is a spill well ok maybe sometimes
a little more serious like when I burn myself..or something..but when
it comes right down to it... I dont have to do what so many others do..
yet I complain..about this little I have to do or because something is
hard to do? Hmmm.. I really shouldnt . I dont have it that bad, AND
I can get up at what ever time I want to..as long as I have my door
unlocked so Raelynn can get in or they can bring lunch..hmmm..
Me thinks I doth complain too much.. :-)

When I worked in Houston..that drive,, fighting all that traffic, I spent
more time swearing at people and cars I think than I did actual work..
I had a good job..but to get there was an hour drive if traffic wasnt
bad or GOD forbid it rained..Before I married Willie I lived in a small
town outside Houston, with a companion, in Galena Park, a small
nice town. My companion loved to fish, and wanted a boat. We found
one for sale that was quite a ways out of town and we decided to buy
it and go and pick it up one evening after work. We drove out there,
and hooked it to the back of our LeMans, the boat we bought was an
old wooden one- just beautiful. Well we had heard the weather forcast
said rain..ok. well when it rains there it can turn to flash floods pretty
fast and the streets WILL flood and if you are caught in the wrong place
at the wrong time..well you could be in severe dodo you know?

About halfway home, -now- it started raining just about the time we
pulled out of that yard where we got the boat..and were headed back
home.. the closer we got..the worse the weather got..was like a bloomin
hurricane. The rain came down in torrents, and the streets were really
getting flooded..We had the radio on listening to what it said as far as
perhaps which way would be safest to go back home..Well the area
we were in, we VERY seldom went there and were NOT familiar with
the roads etc..they had these viaducts..where if you drove under them
the roads kind of dipped down more..and the water would fill it up and
be like a small pool..and a car going thru well..wasnt possible, the
cars sank.. :-)..

We came up to one of those..and werent really sure what to do..so
we decided well- we looked around and just HOW deep could it be??
We went foreward..and soon felt this floating sensation? I looked down
and my feet were in water, it started to fill the car.!. I looked at over at
my companion..and we both said at the same time "oh oh" I looked
out to the side..and bumping up against the car was the BOAT!!! :-)
I rolled the window down..and crawled thru it..and got into it.. My
companion did the same thing.. We sat in that boat..for hours..the
car was totally swamped..and full of water.. How did the boat get along
side? Well ..My companion loved to fish..yes..but was not familiar
with how to safely really hook up a boat onto a car..which NOW was
a good thing..which going down the highway, was NOT!!! Think of all
that mess if that boat had broke loose on a 4 lane freeway? Can
you picture that? lol.. BUT.. if he HAD hooked it up right well we would
have had to sit on top of the roof of the car..we were comfy in the boat,
had cushions and we did pull jackets out of the car and we were under
that viaduct so we were not getting wet..was dry under there.. So we
just sat and floated around under there in that boat..Was kinda fun
actually..lol. The rain stopped , the POND drained.. and soon the car
was on the road again.. Of course it didnt start..but what timing to have
bought that boat when we would really NEED it, kept our butts dry..:-)

Well I need to see if its flooding in the kitchen LOL. ..its raining but
outside..good excuse to go out there though yes? lol I have PLENTY
of reasons to go out to that kitchen. Mainly cuz it screams at me to
"COME ON ...FOOD HERE..24 hrs OPEN " lol.. I know that ALL too
well. I can stay up late and sleep late since I dont have to go to a JOB.
but you KNOW whats gonna happen..yup..Hit that bed, the eyes slam
shut and thats ALL she wrote ..over and out :-) OUT I go..Nitey Nite..

Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? Luv ya..and Thanks.. :-)
Always, Lois ****

May God Bless you today,
I'm so honored to call you friend,
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

    Good Morning :-)
Yes, it HAS been VERY interesting, never a dull moment :-) I learned alot, gained alot, and thankfully survived !!! THAT was the hard part :-)

    Morning Raife! :-)
Glad you liked the story, it was kinda fun, we were even on the news, not everyone was hauling a boat in that storm lol. Im glad we were or we would have been sitting in water, the car was submerged lol. It was kinda fun :-) The boat had a cover and it was dry and nice. We were lucky.. :-)

    Morning Rob :-)
