~Meet Shirley, My sister~
I'm sitting here smiling..and wondering if I should have put the
photo She's the one I talk about, my sister Shirley. I don't know
when it was taken..a few years ago..shes maybe a bit heavier..
and a bit more gray..but that's her..I didn't ask for permission..
but as soon as I post this ill call and tell her lol. well she can yell,
I don't think she will..its a very nice photo. its too late anyway
I already put it here lol... :-)
She and I had fun when we lived in the same town..we would
go shopping together..she would come and pick me up..we
would go and do what she needed..and stop at some yard
sales lots of times..talking the whole time..laughing at each
other .. shes so funny ..she thinks I am too..well we both just
laugh a lot really..We would always stop a restaurant for lunch.
She ALWAYS bought, would never let me..Usually we would
go to different places ..what ever happened to be closer to
where we were, it didn't matter, we just enjoyed our time with
each other..
Shirley and I are a lot alike..we both like to draw..we both are
quite skilled seamstresses.. we both do crafts.. are good cooks.
Yet we were separated when I was 10 months old..and raised
by our adopted parents.. She and I didn't meet till I was about
in my 30's? I lived in Galena Park at the time..before I married
my 2nd husband. so its a few years..yes. I would say 30's..I was
working in my flower bed.. A huge Winnebego (travel bus) pulled
into the driveway..I could not imagine who it was..then guessed
perhaps the people that lived in the apartment above the garage
had company. I looked up to see this man taking long strides
towards me..smiling..and he said.."are you Lois? I have your
sister Shirley in that Winnie over there, we came to meet you,
I'm Stanley, your brother in law". I smiled..I was totally caught
unaware and needless to say after being out in the flower bed
crawling around I sure didn't look my best either, but isnt that
always the way? when you look your worst is when you meet
someone? lol..I think its a rule lol....
I got up..and went to the bus to see Shirley..and one by one all
five of her children stepped out of the Winnie..I honestly didn't
know what to do.. I just sort of stammered and smiled and said
"Hi..I'm Lois, come on in".. I felt no different other than a bit
excited..but to meet a perfect stranger and be told its my sister
well you cant have instant deep feelings..they grow.. and they did.
When Shirley and I would have lunch or other people were by us
we would try to confuse them..see if they could figure out..why we
had my mother..her mother..and OUR mother lol.. some, sadly,
didn't figure it out ..lol.. It amazes me though not raised together
how alike we are.. She is VERY outspoken like me..and temper?
well. I think I have worse..but we are close.. Neither of us take
CRAP lol.. and she is like me..shes not a quitter .. We both know
the word TRY.. well five kids? 3 girls and a set of twin boys? lol..
Shirley and Stanley have expanded in more ways than one..lol..
Shes gained a few..but.. they now have 17 grand children..2 are
great grands.. the third great grand is due in a few months. I
say they have done their part to expand the census. Im glad we
found each other.. I have 2 brothers live down the road by her
matter of fact..but I havent seen one in over 10 years..and the
other..hmm last summer I think..no..spring.. no..I dont know..way
too long..ive tried to be closer..and it only works for a short while
I dont know why..maybe cuz theyre MEN .. :-) well its harder for
a man to get close to someone cuz they feel they HAVE to.. ;-)
One of these days..I wish I was as close to them as I am Shirley..
Well this is a whole new year so..who knows ;-)
I got a pizza last nite from Pizza Hut and some of those excellent
cinnamon sticks. I have been nibbling on those all day.. Im going
to nuke a couple pieces of pizza and finish a game of spider
solitare ..Penny called today shes sick.. I hope shes better by
tomorrow..been awhile since anyone was here.. I don't like to go
too long without someone here..few days at the most.. its the
first and I got my food stamps and check ..I need to make a list..
lol heaven forbid should I forget something :-) Nitey Nite..
Y'all have a good one Y'hear? love ya.. and thanks.. :-)..
Always, Lois ****
God Bless you is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe
until I write again..

Hello Lois
Nice picture of your sister Shirley, thank you for sharing the picture. Wonderful you are a like in someway.
So sorry to hear Penny is sick, hoping she will be all right soon.
Got a little more painting done today, still working on the from porch.
And that only the bottom part of the house. Wish I had a long paint brush, the roller has a handle that we can put a long rod to it to make it longer to work with.
You have a great night Lois, God bless you.

Here in Brooklyn, since we don't have many yards, we have stoop sales. I bought some china at a stoop sale and a year ago or so, I bought a Bialetti stove-top espresso maker. They usually go for $45.00 and I think I paid $5.00 for this one. I sure have made a lot of espresso with it.

Hi, Honey,
Like the pic of your Sis - she looks a very determined lady - I would not like to cross her, any more than I would you!!
Hope the pizza was good - I had beans on toast for tea, and a couple of mince pies, left over from Christmas.
Take care, Hon. L.O.L. & G.B.H. from

Good Morning Mary,
We dont resemble each other very much I dont think..She looks more like my brothers..My sis that died on my birthday , she and I looked alot alike. Painting is NOT easy.. I know lol..
Hi Momar, I was given one of those cup ata time coffee makers when I was in the hellhome..I really like it..only takes a minute to brew..And its a fresh cup everytime. I like that better.
Hi Raife, you make it sound like I am a big meanie..lol.. i'm not..only when provoked..lately seems someone is steady poking at me..lol.. My sister is a big softie.. very generous to me... My leftover pizza was really good..so were the sticks.. still have enough for today lol..
Hope y'all have a great day :-)
ALways, Lois ****

Hi Gray,
Shes a keeper..Im lucky to have her.. We were 6 at one time.. all given away.. now we are 4..I am the youngest then Frank, then Shirley, Rose, thats gone, Kenny, and MaryJane, that died on my birthday 2 years ago..She made sure I didnt forget her..She knew I wouldnt tho.. I wish I had known her better but she stayed in the UP of MI,
where the rest of us left... all 6 of us given away and my birthmother had 13 brothers and sisters.. none took us..was a shame..we lost family heritage..I still am not sure of my nationality..I was told American Indian..Chippewa Tribe.. I dont know.. I sure would like to tho..
Careful going home and have a nice evening Gray..nice to hear from you.
Always, Lois **** :-)
