~Power Rental Chair~

There is a photo of my rental power chair, that was delivered

yesterday. If you remember my other one..do you see the big

difference in this one? no wonder I cant handle it.. I had enough

trouble with 4 tires..do you count 6?? I do..and whats cute.. I

took the photos I have a couple others too..and Not until I took

them and was going to take one of the cushion did I notice it..

that there were 6 tires!! Ive never seen a power chair like this..

No wonder I cant drive the bloody thing.. when I turn it unless

I have the speed up.it turns slower than a turtle.. it does!! lol..

Is this a special kind or something? ive not seen one like

this at all... my new one better not be like this.. I don't like it..my

old one had 4 tires.. Guess who that is up there on the chair..

3 guesses lol.. :-) ya..the boy..has to get in it.. I missed the

really cute one he was peeking thru that arm rest area lol

You can see the left handed joy stick..that I still am not used to

at all..Im right handed..and its like learning to write all over ..

plus the joy stick in the back next to the armrest you can see

a tiny nubbie sticking out if you look closely..that is the speed

and the toggle switch to turn it off and on.. Well when I am at

my computer..I use my mouse with my right hand..my left arm

I usually lean on it.. well when I do..it hits that toggle and will

turn it on Ive found.. also. that joy stick sticking out like that

I cant get up close to my desk, have to sit farther back.. I

sound so ungrateful but Im not really.. I have this I will use it..

but not constantly. I really cant I have to keep my arm

strength up.. I have to.. or im in trouble.

I tried to get a photo of the cushion so you could see the well

that is there to sit in but being black it didn't really show up..

so was no point in putting it here.. I just deleted it. The cushion

is a gel.. I cannot do gel cushions. I don't care what they cost.

For the gel to expand when you sit on it you have to have the

room for it to move to ,,the only way to get that extra space

well area..is to put extra cover or material in this case plastic.

to do that you have to make creases in the material or folds

so it has the room.. these folds are right under the butt area,

well that means wrinkles.and someone that sits for as long

as I do..even though I do move around a lot and get off to

potty etc..its not enough.they are still there. and a wrinkle can

make a sore spot on a tush fast as anything.. they are not

good..for me.. I don't know about others but that's how I am..

maybe I just have a sensitive butt? lol..

it seemed to be ok as far as wide..I wasn't croweded but

the length of the seat front to back is shorter by 2 inches

and that is not comfy either but if I sit a tad sideways..and

pull up to my desk a bit that way so that joy stick is out of

the way its not too bad for a while..trust me I have checked

out this chair.. and personally? I don't like it at all.. My new

one I hope is not like this.. I talked to the guy that delivered

it for quite a while about the chair and he left me a brochure

said any problems to call 24-7 which is a good thing..He did

say he would make a point to tell Rob, the case manager at

Wright Phillipis to make sure mine is a right hand drive.. I

plan to call him Monday to ask.. I have a photo of the one I

am supposed to get ..I just cant find it..this chair also has a
wider turning radius which to get into the kitchen to go into
the bathroom I had to move my table..those 2 back tires
i need extra room to turn~!~

The delivery guy..said..this new chair..because it will raise

up.guess the cost he said? I almost fell out of my chair .. I

was astonished..couldn't believe it..my old one..was over

$6000.oo dollars.. this new one? well I almost feel bad to

even want it.. he said..now I cannot guarantee this is true I

didn't ask YET.. he said between $25,000.oo and $30,000.oo

I almost lost my breath I was so shocked.. Can this be true?

I dunno if I can do this.. that kind of money, spent on a chair?

I honestly?? honestly...would prefer if the really want me to get

around and out more? well take that money and put it towards

a vehicle.with a ramp of course.. I would go more if I had that

than I would that new chair. I cant believe costs that much !!

I feel so gulity accepting that.. I honestly do! that's outrageous..

A new van even with a ramp, would it cost that? I could put that

in my garage..then if someone came I could have a definite way

to go.. I don't know..I will find out Monday when I call Rob..If
I can get this carpet out I wont need to use a power chair that
much..I do need one yes.. but..I dont know..wow.. Im floored.

To make a point about me having a way to get places with my

own transport..I called COA yesterday about a ride to my Dr on

wed.. well what is Wednesday? don't y'all forget either. you have

a sweetheart, don't remember your in trouble! its VALENTINES

Day.. well I guess lots of people with the senior center (COA) have

dates to shop or hair or something, when I called she wasn't sure

she could get a ride for me. I called thursday..and called again

yesterday to see if I could get one.. Ive found out I need to let them

know just because of stuff like this..to let them know the minute I

make an appointment to be somewhere. She said yesterday that

she wasn't sure they had a driver that would come up to the door,

help me out and push my chair to the van..usually they only push

you up on the ramp then in..I have to have help right at the door,

so the boys don't get out..and to lock it etc..so she says " Kenny

doesn't do that and hes coming all the way from Sturgis to take you,

let me call him and find out". well ratz.. So I wait and she came back

told me Kenny will have a new driver with him a volunteer that is in

training and will be with him so he doesn't mind pushing your chair..

can you believe this? lol. I mean ALWAYS something. Well is set

up and Kenny and his apprentice will be here at 9:45 am.. and I

will go to the Dr.. IF.. IF the weather permits. Im not going out if its

bad. no way,, I don't wanna get sick.. I hate being sick lol..

My sis and Stanley came by late this afternoon and she had some

treats for me as usual..they didn't stay long as they had a list of

stuff to do and some was up this way ..she brought me THE most

beautiful shower curtain. white with pink and mauve ribbon daisies

on it..cloth just beautiful..it will be pretty in the bathroom I should

have asked Stanley to put it up for me.. he would have.. He looked

so different. hes growing WHITE beard and mustache. well ok

GRAY.. its for the Passion Play for Easter at his church..hes in it..

hes gained a lot of weight as well he looks good.still super active.

He had a good time playing with Dutch .. hes still leary of Stan, he

remembers when he picked him up by his tail . I know I DO!!! lol

She brought some cute tops for me as well I am anxious to wear

them. Tomorrow I will try them on lol.. photo day tomorrow maybe

in this borrowed chair.. lol.. but im hungry and its late.. Im late

tonite cuz they were here and Ive not eaten all day.. I think just a

baked potato sounds good..You see I have POWER lol..
