~Guess What I Got Today?~ :-)

I had a pretty good day today, Penny came, did some shopping
for me since it is the first and my food stamps are in..Now I can
stock up on the month.well no. not for meat, etc, I don't have a
freezer that can hold much of anything, I sure miss that big one
I had that I really used a lot.. I kept all kinds of good food in it.
I don't know whats in the stores, all I really see are the ads in
the paper or I look online too..Meijers is online..Some of their
stores will deliver to you. Not here tho..well that I know of..
Pizza Hut and Howies are the only things here that deliver, I
did get some Pop Tarts..they are so good. I used to get them
all the time..good for a sweet snack specially the brown sugar
and cinnamon ones..Hot out of the toaster with butter .... Yes.
Highly recommended.. and very good .. :-) some good news:

I made that phone call yesterday to Chris, he phoned today
and said "Lois, your gonna be home?, we'll be over in just a
little bit" hung up..and about half hour or so..theres a knock
and this man walked in named Lewis, said "Im here to put
in your new windows" . I looked at him smiled and said to
"please~! come in ! " He was so nice..did a great job..and
I have a new window in..that top one is looking out that new
window to the left..you can see part of the ramp..and the porch
and part of the mailbox..That place across the road is where
that angel man was walking..( in the very top photo) That 2nd
one is looking straight out of it. if I turn around here at my desk
and looked out the window that is what I would see..

You can see the road that goes down the side over there the
extension of the one that runs over here on the west side of
my house.. Notice the branch down..The trees here are in
dire need of work..Do you notice the pretty yellow Humvee
parked across over there? Seems Lewis's brother works
for them and he paints them! You can barely, through the
tree (cedar)see that there are a couple big semi trailers by
that builing on the right..you can see a bit of a red sign on
one..They must work a 24 hour shift, those big trucks are in
and out constantly, that's why its so noisy on this street..
what is down the end of that street I don't know..I think it
might be the river..I have no idea..ive not been down it..

Lewis was such a sweet guy and so nice to chat with, which
we did the whole time he was here.. Hes very young I would
say 20's.Single too and VERY handsome..VERY.. and hes
just that nice too.. Hes an advid outdoorsman..loves to fish
and hunt..I showed him the photo of my Northern I caught and
we chatted about my ex and how he hunted,,and he and
David..well a lot of the same likes.. he LOVES Those mush
rooms..Morrels..they grow wild all over here..and many-Donnie
included, have their private places they go to find them..I say I
don't like them..but I have never had one in my mouth so that's
not being fair. I ve tried those soft mushy kind they put in every
thing now it seems.those... I DO NOT like at all..But he did a
great job on the window and we discussed this FLOOR!!

Apparently he put this carpet down..I asked him.."whats under
this carpet?" the smarty says "padding"..and smiles..lol. brat..
"I KNEW that..its under MOST carpet..duh.. I said FLOOR" he
said there is linoleum and its ok..the people just wanted carpet.
I told him Chris said I could take it out.. so he said he would
check with Ken, Chris' Dad..the big boss.. and also about the
bathroom floor.. But well NOW I just have to make arrangements
to get this carpet pulled up.. I bet If I had my power chair I could
do it my own self.. I can move this stuff, the only thing would be
hard is my desk..but I bet I could figure out a way to move that too
if I plan long enough exactly how to do it so I don't pop a cork or
something if I try lol..We talked quite a bit about this house..I was
right about a leak..and seems that it is not really fixed when he
checked out the spot in the ceiling.. I told him I need the paint and
this place finished.. he told me too that Ken owns at least 80 or
more houses.. Lots of work..but he buys and sells..rents them till
they sell or sell to the renters..

I can already feel a big difference in here..He said he will be here
tomorrow to do this one on the side of me..that will be great then
I wont be looking through that screen when I take photos out that
window.. Lewis even cleaned off that glass for me..went and got
the Windex and paper towels and did INSIDE and OUT! now is
THAT nice or what.. he put everything back just like it was too.
THats the way you evaluate a good job.by the end product and I
sure can NOT feel that draft on my back now..Im pleased.. :-D

I also am tired.. I have been getting up at 3 am every day the
past few and I have NO idea why .. then by 10 im ready to go
back to bed.. Penny will be here tomorrow too and were going
to transfer the canned stuff to the metal cabinet in the bathroom.
I sure miss that freezer.I could make some good stuff. I may send
her back to the store tomorrow..I was in a big 'sleep mode' when
Penny was here and I did a quick fast list.. just the basics..and I
did forget some.I need paper stuff..TP and napkins etc..paper
plates I could save money and not buy them..but I use them to put
the boys food on..saves on dishes..I hate to do dishes..one of the
joys of short arms..and having a caregiver. I don't have to do them
now lol.. I always got stuck drying the dishes and I got tired of it..
My sis always got to wash..she would get so mad when I kept
putting stuff back in the water and tell her "its not clean" she would
yell at me and grab the towel and say "go away your making me
wash things 20 times each"and they say blondes are dumb :-D
bed time for me..well after a blue berry doughnut Nitey Nite :-)

Y'all have a good one Y'hear? love ya.. and thanks :-)
ALways, Lois ****

God Bless you is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe
until I write again..

    Hello Lois
So happy you got a new window in, but it was real cold in there for a while for you.
    Nice pictures you took.
It will be nice when they get everything done that need to be none there.
When we get the house finished painted this spring, I hope we can do the inside next. This house is old and needs lot of work done on it.
If the pad is out from under the carpet your wheelchair will roll better...the carpet help keep the cold from coming up from the floors.
In Becky bedroom, we didn't put a pad down under the carpet...she could roll around real well on the carpet that way. The carpet need to be pull real tight too, to keep out the wrinkle.j Now if you got a thick carpet you might still have a problem.
We still didn't get any snow today, hoping Fri will be the same.

Lois drink some warm milk, and put in some honey in it too. It will help you to sleep.
    God bless you Lois.

    Hi Mary,
I cant drink milk or have any kind of dairy products..I can but my stomach tells me other wise..

This carpet is thick..and you are right about keeping the floor warmer,
since I know the basement isnt heated. I wonder should it be since we are due to have some very seriously cold weather they have warned us over the weekend. below zero ive heard..but then you never know..

Its so much warmer in here already I can tell if I get these other 2 windows fixed and the door ..will be toasty warm. lots of work needs done with this place too..was very neglected ..so sad..to damage a home, and not take care of it..sad..

I drink hot chocolate but not made with milk..i guess its in the mix but that doesnt bother me too bad if I only have 1 cup lol..

I hope you sleep good too Mary..and what kinda rolls was they ? not cinaminamon was they? I love those ..In fact thats the kinda pop tarts i have :-)

    Hi,Honey,
I'm SOOOO glad you have got those windows in.
It would be great to get that carpet up and give your poor hands a break, BUT, do not even think of doing it on you own!!! Carpets are very heavy things, with a mind of their own - ask one who knows!!! You should not find that the rooms are that much colder with the carpet up. I would guess that, though it is unheated, the air in the basement is pretty still and should not carry much warmth away anyplace. The important thing is to give your dear hands a break!
    Take care, Hon. L.O.L. & G.B.H. from

    Hi Raife,
No, only got the one in..sposta come today but its 4 pm so I doubt if he will be here. I hope he does tomorrow.. We are sposta go way below zero is the warning for everyone.. I know people are already thinking of dead batteries in the morning. :-)

THe basement isnt heated at all and Lewis said there was nothing wrong underneath the people just wanted carpet.. It amazes me..they have had this house 5 years or so..and its in this condition..It would NOT be that hard to fix up and be so nice..easy to navigate too..well cept for that hallway..I have nicks out of the corners. and my knuckles lol..

Hope you had a good day today..
    Take care :-)
    Always, Lois ****
