~We Have Serious Coldness~
Our weather report for tonite is as follows according to the
National Weather Service it says;
Areas of blowing snow...mainly before midnight. Snow showers.
then scattered snow showers after midnight. Total snow
accumulation 2 to 4 inches. Lows around 4 below. West winds
15 to 20 mph with gusts to around 40 mph.
Wind chill readings 18 below to 27 below zero.
I took these photos about 1 oclock this after noon..the arrow..it
shows the empty branch there.. look behind to across the road
you can barely see it.. this was NOT the worst. the wind is the
problem..40 miles an hour which I don't know km.. its powerful
well my front porch has snow on it.. I didn't get a photo of that..I
didn't want to keep the door open long enough to do that. lol..
We have been told over the TV that we are under a winter storm
warning and have to stay off the roads..which means there will
be no traffic other than emergency vehicles and snow mobiles..
the two roads on each side of me are the emergency snow routes
through town so they will be plowed first..which if the snow starts
to fall and the wind the roads will be very treacherous. This is
a very bad storm, could cause some problems, and the biggest
of this is carelessness with heaters..that's why so many homes
If you look at the photos you will see the arrow I put in, the
top one the branch is empty..you see the 2nd there is a
squirrel..a red one, is up on that tree stump sitting..he was
running out there I saw him on the ground..then the wind got
stronger he jumped up on that stumpie..and sat there for quite
awhile..look behind the tree to across the street..you can see it
in the first one, hardly at all in the second..and in the third.
there are icicles hanging off the porch tomorrow I will see if I
can get a photo of them.. the temperature right now I just looked
To take a photo out of this new window I have to kind of sit
half on the couch and in my chair to be able to see..lol..well
ya .. the stupid break decided it wasn't gonna hold and I was
either going to do the splits or fall over onto the couch right
there..well needless to say where I went.. was no biggie. I
was pretty much over on the couch and only kept my right stump
on the seat for leverage getting back in my chair, my couch is
lower than my chair..we couldn't find the blocks Stanley made
for underneath it..or I would have no trouble getting on to the
couch behind me at all..just like before.. Only time its a bit hard
to do depends on what I am wearing..my couch is like a crushed
velvet type of material..and If I have a cotton or denim skirt on..
its hard to move..cuz it doesn't wanna and Im pulling my skirt
off if I don't lift high enough lol.. but silk..well I slide pretty good
on the couch material. I have a denim skirt on today and it
will stick to the couch so.. I kinda sat half half..I was lucky.. again..
lol. one of these times tho.. lol..
I called Dawn as she was going to come over and go shopping
and we were gonna exchange..Well with this CRAP out there I
did NOT want that girl on the road.. We have been warned off,
so she has no business out there, even though she has 4 wheel
drive.. Donnie said Kelli called her battery was dead on her truck
and he is going to see what he can do..dad is always the first to
help..My sis phoned..said "Hey, we was half way there, and said
no, we aint going no further, it was so bad, total white out, we
came back home".. She said they couldn't see a thing at times
and Im glad they went back home.. It would have been nice to see
her.. She said they are going up North to the UP to get some things
that have been donated to some missionaries in Haiti that Stan
goes and sees twice a year, he will be going again in March.. Lets
hope nothing happens this time because of something he didn't
do before he left.. I think he learned last year when she fell and
broke her leg..doesn't seem that long ago ..but it is..Im sure he
does NOT want to go undie shopping again lol..
Im gonna go shopping out in my kitchen I slept late today for a
change! I went to bed about 11..and got up about 7:45.. I did
sleep..but boy, my back was aching , I didn't move..stayed in
ONE position all that time .. flat on my back.. I sat up and ..I mean
ache? ya big time.. I could use such a good back rub..I cant ...
hmm ya..last time I was in the hospital for last amputation was
the last back rub I had.. I would LOVE to have a really good one,
THAT would feel SO good..Ok..who's a good massager? :-)
Time for dinner..and NOT carrots lol.. tomahtoes on toast. good
stuff with some parmesan cheese.. Nitey Nite :-)
Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? love ya.. and thanks. :-)
Always, Lois ****
God Bless you is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe
until I write again..

Hello Lois wow you have it cold there for sure... high wind sure make you cold real fast.
Love all your pictures you took, now don't get yourself hurt taking pictures...always play it save...we don't want you hurt for any reason.....Now Lois having no traffic after you get use to it, will keep you up for sure.
It just 21 F here right now, it been a good day for me.
I will be there at 7 in the morning to help train the new staff for Becky. She had only one day of training so far. She has worked in a nursing home so she does know how to use a lift. I don't alway like people that has work in a nursing home, they think they know it all...I want Becky taking better care of. There are so many little thing that need care twice a day and sometime more.
always take care of a small problem, so it wont be a big problem. It just take to long to heal for her.
Lois I hope you stay nice and warm my friend.
God bles you.

Hi Mary,
Yes, the wind makes it even worse..of course the people selling batteries kinda like it tho lol. I havent looked lately but I bet its gettin closer to 0 out there..it will I have no doubt..
Hope all goes well for Becky,yes..and if a place is short handed its hard to give them all the care they really need..that was a big issue at the hellhome..1st shift said 3rd needed to do more and 3rd was busy but well no one is ever really satisfied..I dont remember how many residents were at the home.. I was on B hall I know..last room on the right..by the window.
Im a slow healer too..took over a year for my left stump to heal, and I get infections very easily..too easy. hope you sleep well and have a good day tomorrow..
good nite.. :-)

Hi, Honey,
Heck, I just looked and its only down to 18 F in St Petersburg, where my Russian lady lives. Mind, it's going down to -20 F on Thursday night, they reckon. Looks like you will be as cold as they are!! Last night, here, it must have dropped to about 28 to 30 F. Had to use de-icer on the car windshield (that's windscreen in English!!) at 6.45 this morning. It's been sunny all day. I just wish I could send some nice, hot hugs to keep you warm, Honey.
Take care, L.O.L. & G.B.H. from

P.S.
40 m.p.h. is 64 k.p.h. - you divide by 5 and times by 8 to change miles into km.

We used to get hurricanes when I lived on Long Island. We never lost a tree or had any real damage. We had a gas cooker (stove)so after the storm when we might have no electricity we could still brew coffee. Guess what?! We had an electric coffee grinder so we had to borrow coffee from the neighbors.
