Amputee life before and after...

~Post 930~ :-)

I have been seriously thinking about having my own van.
Not necessarily to drive it..but to have it here so someone
else could take me.. like Penny, we could go shopping and
take my van that would have a ramp. Theyre easy to open
and use. Then I wouldn't have to change appointments
because I couldn't get a ride, then have to wait for 3 more
weeks to get a new appointment.. I have a garage too..
Well its got Donnies stuff in it right now but If I needed it,
he would get that out im sure.. But I have seriously thought
about this since I have had to re schedule appointments,
and book a ride and they not write it down. Im debating.
With gas as expensive as it is right now, I probly wouldn't
use it that much but it would be nice to know I had a ride
any time I wanted one.. If I had company it would be a way
for me and them to tour around or go shopping too..Be a
good thing I think... Plus, Donnie is an excellent mechanic,
so I know it would stay running good :-) ...He keeps all 3
of his and Kelli's running great !

Beautiful day today, I had the door open and I watched this
man go by on a power chair.. he wasn't an amputee, and
his was like a scooter type..had a basket on the back and
his feet were on a base.. He rolled down the street and he
seemed to have a good time, this was a beautiful day to
be outside. I had seen 2 people go by a while back both
were in power chairs..They looked rather young though,
they were chatting and rolling side by side down the side
walk...when they came to the corner it was like only one of
them was in control they were in perfect time, stopping
at the same time and starting again.. They were going kinda
fast but it was a nice day then too.. Just 2 blocks down the
street are all the main stores, Wal Mart now and Meijers
and Home Depot is down there, plus that little strip mall
with Walgreens new store as well.. That's why there is always
someone walking down this street to all the stores down
there.. Just cross the 4 lane highway and your right at
Meijers.. I cant see me rolling across a 4 lane highway
in a power chair.. I would have a problem doing that.. It
would be my luck I would be right in the middle of the road
and hit a hole and tip over in front of God and EVERYONE,
I have NO doubt.. :-) I don't plan to do that though EVER..

I have an appointment with the cardiologist tomorrow at 10
am.. I havent ever seen this guy before.. I am hoping he will
have those test results from that stress test they made me
take when I was in hospital.. Took 2 hours for it and was
totally boring and very uncomfortable.. People were nice but
wasn't that great an experience.. I have had one before..Ive
had all kinds of stress tests for heart and for arteries.. The
doctor said the test wasn't good it wasn't clear..yet the nurse
said it came back positive so what that means I don't know..
so maybe tomorrow I will know more of what is what..better
not be anything or I will be most unhappy... I will know after
I see this guy.. think positive :-)

Well Im positively hungry that I know.. I didn't eat lunch as it
wasn't the greatest .. So I have some leftovers that I know
are still good and I will reheat them for tonite.. Then its TV
and bed.. I went to bed late last nite and got up early so I
am tired a bit.. But GORGEOUS WEEBLES have to have
their beauty sleep so.."Nitey Nite".. :-)

Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya, and THANKS!
ALways, Lois ****

God Bless you, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again.....

    Hi, Honey,
That sounds a great idea, to have your own van. You can get some real economical Renault, Citroen or Peugeot small vans that can take a wheel chair, facing forward. They all make diesels that do about 50+ miles to the gallon. Would the state or a charity give you help with purchasing and running cost?
I am SO VERY GLAD to see that your hands are healing. That is indeed great news and must be such a relief for you.
    Take care, Gorgeous Weeble,
    Luv Ya,
    Raife

    Hello Lois
Well I got a few more stitches again, bottom right side...they clean the bone again and took out part of a chip tooth.
Sure hope this will end the DDS visit once and for all...there might be a problem top left, time will tell.
A Van would be great, sure hope you can get one.
It was a nice day here, it is 69F right now...
Going to bed early, got a few thing I need to get done Wednesday.
    God bless you Lois.
    Mary
