~Meeting A Stranger~

I got an email from each of my sons and I am pleased.

They each have reacted differently which is to be

expected they are both different..I remember back to

the time when I met my blood sister, Shirley..I was

meeting a stranger and being told we were family,

but I didn't feel that way....at first....

I was living in Galena Park, TX, just out side Houston,

not far from Pasadena where I lived too..I was renting

a really nice house and I was outside working in my

flower bed..was a hot summer day and I was sweaty

and dirty and HOT.. plus I was crawling around on my

hands and knees! I looked wonderful... I heard a loud

vehicle and looked, it was a big motor home and it was

pulling into my driveway.. I sat up and back on my heels

and watched to see who it was. There were people that

rented the apt above the garage so I thought it was some

company for them...A man walks around the front of the

motorhome and walks up to ME! I didn't know him and of

course was wondering who it could possibly be!...

When he got up to me, by then I had stood up and said,

"yes?" He looked at me and put out his hand to shake

mine and said "are you Lois? I'm Stanley, your brother

in law, I have your sister Shirley over there in the motor

home..we came to meet you..all 5 of our kids are with us"

I smiled and shook his hand, looked over to the home and

there was my sister walking towards me smiling and holding

out her hand.. We both at the same time smiled and shook

hands and by then the kids had joined us.. She looked at me

the same way I looked at her to see if we looked alike ..

They spent a week with me and we toured all over the area,

went to Galveston, one of my favorite places and just had a

great time.. Shirley and I talked constantly as if we wouldn't

have another chance.. When the time came for them to go,

They all climbed into the motor home and it was time to say

goodbye to my sister..That was the hardest thing I had to

do in a long time.. I was so afraid to let her go for fear I

would lose her again.. We both cried and hugged, we met

as total strangers and in only a weeks time the bond was

there and we WERE sisters.. Weve been close ever since..

I met her back in the 70's ,, now she lives only an hour down

the road and I can phone or see her any time I want.. All

those years apart..but the bond was still there.. We are so

much alike its amazing.. Think I'm bad? meet my sister....

put us together? you got a fight on your hands... shes a

keeper..

But I think about all those lost years..just like the lost years

with my sons.. they cant be re made or gone back to.. all

we can do is like my sister and I did..just thank GOD we

still have time ahead and to make the most of it.. Speaking

of my sister she is on her way up to Upper Michigan to

go and visit friends. Its their 50th wedding anniversary I

think she said.. so they are going on holiday for a week.

Even with the high gas prices they didn't care, they both

needed a holiday.. I eagerly asked to go along but they

just didn't have room for me.. No I wouldn't have gone

anyway its their honeymoon.. But I would LOVE to go

back up north..go home.. I miss it..

Well lunch was half good, half bad..it was beans and ham..

butter beans.. they were excellent.. the bad part to the

lunch was it came with spinach and carrots !! 2 of my

most iccky dislikes..THEN the desert was my favorite

jello..but the put FRUIT in it!!! Lime Jello with fruit ..ICK.

I love Jello and I like fruit..but NOT mixed ICKY.... So

I'm gonna have another of my peaches for a snack and

then TV.. The boy is on his way over to go and get my

puter ..theyre going off for the week end leaving tomorrow

a race of course..somewhere here in Michigan I didn't

hear details as racing is not a fav of mine.. I do watch it

but.. I prefer bull riding to that.. :-)

Time to close this for today and I am so glad things are

smoothing out again.. These rough spots sure arent good

and NO FUN at all !!! Time for my GORGEOUS WEEBLE
