~I Heard Clicking~
I was at my computer this morning about 7:30 and I hear this
click, click, click, like a clock ticking really loud, then it gradually
disappeared.. I thought my clock came to life for a minute.. I
thought for a second, and its still dark dark even at 7:30 in the
morning... I peeked thru the blinds.. and I saw a Amish buggy,
pulled by a horse that, was what was making the clicking sounds.
They take these poor horses all over everywhere I know, but I
was just amazed that they would be out at dark. The buggy had
red blinking lights on the back which of course it would have to,
but I was just surprised to see that out there so early and still
dark out.. Its probly the same one Ive seen before but it was
daylight then.. I truly commend the Amish for sticking to their
beliefs..amazing people and so talented.

Theres a great town not far from here in Indiana, straight south
of me.. called Shipshewana.. I remember the first time I came
up here to visit my sister. Willie and I drove up from Texas. We
spent time with my brother Frank but we stayed at Shirleys house.
The guys went off one day to do something and Shirley told me
about the 10 acre flea market they have in Shipshe, as we call it.
We went..I have NEVER been to such a huge sale.. It is at this
huge place that has an auction barn that was MOST intriguiging
to me.. I HAD to see what was being sold and I had never been
to one, so we decided to stay and watch some of the auctions.
They sold every thing from horses to home stuff to antiques.
http://www.shipshewana.com/ there is a link to Shipshe..
I had seen a box that was most interesting and caught my eye.
I had seen a box that was most interesting and caught my eye.
I have a collection of ladies handkerchiefs.. Ive had this since
I was little and how I managed to hang on to it this all this time,
I really don't know how I did, but I have it still.. When I saw
that old box was full of some lovely hankys I HAD to have it.
It was perfect timing because they auctioned it off right away.
The bidding started at 10 dollars. I bid, another lady bid 15.
I looked at her, smiled, and bid 17, we did this back and forth
until the price was up to 26 dollars.. As the man was announcing
the other ladys bid, my sister said something to me and caught
me off guard and distracted me, in just a split second I heard
"SOLD !" I looked back and that other bidder grinned at me
with a look of "haha, I got it". I was most upset.
I went up to the lady and congratulated her and told her she was
I went up to the lady and congratulated her and told her she was
in cahoots with my sister so I couldn't have those hankys, we
laughed and she reached down, kinda looked thru them, picked
out a few and said, "ok, you can have the rest of them for 15
dollars" .. I eagerly handed her the money and took my treasure
home with me.. I was ready to leave right then I wanted to go
through and see what all was left in the box.!. Instead we went
around to the outside market and shopped. Its a most wonderful
place.. Get to Indiana go to Shipshewana, its a great place..
On the ride back home I started to go through the box of hankys
On the ride back home I started to go through the box of hankys
one by one, I reached for one of them and if felt rather heavy,
and when I picked it up a locket fell out of the folds and into the
box. I picked it up and it was a solid gold heart locket, and the
inscrption on it said, "I love you". I still have it.. I was so pleased
with my find.. The hankys were just lovely some had hand tatted
lace on the edge, some embroidered so perfectly you couldn't tell
the right side from the wrong.. Lovely things..
My mother started me collecting ladies hankys. She had a lovely
pink square box all covered in quilted satin, and inside she kept
her hankys. She was NEVER without one. Back then that's what
a lady carried, not Kleenex. I have all that were hers.. the
satin box disintegrated and was ruined in the bad storage of
all my things. I'm so VERY thankful my hankys survived.. I have
a couple of grand daughters that might like to have them. I KNOW
many are over 60 years old.. and whats so amazing, I have them
from almost every state, some silk, flowered.. just lovely... My
sister started the collection first, then I took it over and luckily
she didn't lay claim to them too...but theyre mine and I really
enjoy looking at them from time to time.. just like all my lace doilies
that were my mothers, grandmothers and great aunts, the black
pansy tin basket is very old too, Ive had it since high school. :-)
I want you to know I did nothing after I logged off this puter last
nite but watch HBO and STARZ.. I watched some great movies..
That was a treat.. I do miss some of the other channels I had, I
That was a treat.. I do miss some of the other channels I had, I
really liked that TRU channel.. some good programs on there.. But
oh well I am NOT complaining and I do commend COMCAST for
fixing my account.. I sure hope it doesn't happen again I don't
think I could handle more conflict with them :-) I thought it was
very nice that Michelle even left a comment on here.. Was very
nice. I just hope this ride with comcast smooths out now.
I was up early again, 4:30 to be exact, I'm tired and ready to
get out of this chair for today and see what movies I have. .Nate
sent me a channel line up to print out but of course, my printer
ran out of INK!!! see? Always something to keep me on my toes
and prepared.. I bought 2 last time so when I ran out I wouldn't
have to wait in case I needed to print something, good thing, as
Penny had already left and wont be back till Wednesday when
we go to the doctor and hopefully shopping... I'm done for today
and need a snack..my TV is calling.. I hear HBO saying "Lois!
Come watch a movie!!" so I gotta go.. but not before I write my

When I was in Paris in 1951 I went to their giant flea market at Place Clichy. Lately, I just haven't had time to go to flea markets. Death: I have had 2 people who lived in my house die at the hosp in 5 years and another guy is terminally ill in hospital.

Hi Raife,
Yes I love them. and you dont see them like what I have. I used to give them away. When I went to church in Texas, I always carried extra, no one in this world could sit through one of brother andys sermons and not shed a tear. They look so much better than kleenex :-) Thanks sweetie..
