~Imagination~

I had a conversation with a friend and we were talking

about radio. The shows we each remembered listening

to.. My favorites were Sky King and Sargent Preston

of the Yukon.. The sound effects made it seem I was

right there. That's one of the things we talked about.

How radio was so good for us. We used our OWN

imagination, we didn't need to SEE anything.. we did

in our own minds eye..kids dont do that now, they can
see anything on tv or on the computer.. Cartoons now
are even violent much less have sexual inuendos... its sad.
Imagination is a good thing.. I have a very vivid one...I
think thats why I like to write...

How this discussion came up is because of these movies

and even on TV now, how nothing is sacred.. Everything

is shown, as long as they give you fair warning I guess its

ok. Myself, if a movie has a good plot and its entertaining

I don't see why a sexual act ADDS to it.. I started to watch

a movie I thought was going to be a good one, The very first

scene was a sexual act. I didn't watch the movie.. Not that

I have anything against sex, but I think it should be a

private thing..not for all the world to see...and I honestly

don't feel an explicit sex scene enhances a movie..

When it was radio we ourselves used our minds.. it gave

us imagination.. which to me is a good thing.. I remember

all of us, my parents and my sister, sitting and listening

to our favorite radio programs.. We all enjoyed it.. My

mother, the first thing she did in the morning was turn

on the radio... how else did you hear the weather report

or know if there was school? My dad was a weatherman,

yes, but not a forecaster.. And the music.. always there

was a radio on.. listening to WIKB... I think that's why I

enjoy music so much.. I either heard the radio or my

mom would sing. If my Uncle Gordon happened to be

there it was whistling.. He had a great whistle.. Sounded

just like a canary..

My grandparents had canaries.. They had them in a cage

in the kitchen.. In fact I have a birdcage stand just like

the one she had.. A big circle on a stand..Gramma's

birds sang like they were the happiest birds anywhere.
And the more my gramma encouraged and praised the

birds they would warble louder.. I asked Gramma what

their names were and I still remember to this day..

Their names were "Pete and RePete".. :-) I think my

grandpa named them :-)

Well I have not had lunch yet and I'm hungry, I'm in

the middle of a hassle with Verizon as I sent them a

check 2 weeks ago and they havent gotten it.. Ive called

them every day and my bank and the check is nowhere

to be found. I even called the post office.. I filed a lost

letter thingie but that wont do any good.. They don't put

track stuff on letters, unless its a registered one.. So I

have to put a stop payment on this check, its for 117.oo

so I cant leave that floating around! The stop payment

at my bank costs 30.oo.. I cant win !! I just hope the

payment not there wont affect me transferring my

phone to Charter on Friday... I have more drama ..:-)

well keeps me on my GORGEOUS WEEBLE invisible

toes don't it? :-) Time to post, eat, and sew, but,

cant forget my "G'day, "G'day"... :-)
