~Tree Workers~
There were some guys across the street today doing
some tree work.. I heard the sound of that chain saw
and immediately knew what it was, when I heard the
chipper start up it was like old times... At one time we
had all that stuff. By 'we' I mean my 2nd hubby,
Willie...we had a tree service the whole time we were
married, in Houston and ELkhart. Was interesting work.
I watched the guys over there and none climbed, they
I watched the guys over there and none climbed, they
used a bucket truck. The guys we had climb for us,
Julio and Chris and Robin, they preferred to climb-
rather than use the bucket.. Willie now, he used the
bucket.. he was a climber too but the bucket is safer
and a lot easier, plus he was a lot older than those
guys.. when he was younger he did. If we had more
than one tree to take down on a job the guys would
race to see who could climb up faster...usually Julio
was the fastest. He was Puerto Rican and a very dear
friend as well..
When Willie had gone back to Texas to do some work
I ran the business and helped.. The day I had the metal
go through my left eye, Julio was the one hitting the
wedge. He felt awful that this had happened to me and
every trip I had to make to the doctor which was almost
every other week, he took me. My sister offered but
when my sis drives, unintentionally, she would swerve, or
make the car do a sudden move.. I would get so nauseated
that I just couldn't ride with her.. So that's when Julio
stepped in and agreed to take me... He has his own tree
service now, with his son Jr. I would love to see him.. He
was little the last time I did.. They say hes over 6 foot
and is in the tree service with his dad.. Time sure flies..
Penny came today and we were talking about our grands.
Her grand, Jaylynn, was born just before my greatgrand
Alex. It will be a year next month. Where has the time
gone? Its already March...time sure is marching.!. pretty
soon AGAIN I will be saying I need to start for my
Christmas list.. :-) Be easier this year since I am sewing
again...
We are all clean and we did good, wasn't a big mess for
Penny, she did laundry and went to the store.. She does
good when shes here. She bought herself a sewing machine,
and took my slippersock pattern home. I made a pair of the
new small pattern I made, she said it fits her 2 grands
that are 4 and 6.. Penny has 6 grands. She is going to
make some socks for them now she has the pattern. I
had a TON of thread and Ive shared some of my supplies
that I did salvage. Shes sewn before but just basics, now
with me here she watches what I make and I give her
tips on things to make her sewing easy and to help prevent
her from making mistakes and have to rip out.
Time for lunch, meatloaf today, and needless to say I AM
HUNGRY! :-) as usual. :-) Penny makes excellent meatloaf,
HUNGRY! :-) as usual. :-) Penny makes excellent meatloaf,
I will nuke a potato and I'm set! I got up later today I am
most pleased to say.. 7:30.. but I did wake up 3 times...:-)
once at 12, once at 3, and once at 5... :-) but I kept my
butt in the bed and I fell back to sleep.. I feel pretty

Hello Lois
I used to climb trees when I was a kid, climb on everything I could in those days...My children never did a whole lot of tree climbing that I knew about.
My cable box is not working right, going to take it in for them to check it out...My daughter Beth came over to check it out for me too...and she said it not working right.
God bless you Lois and keep you safe my friend.
