~Need A Motel Here~

There are 3 places in this town where a visitor could

stay.. I called all 3 as I have some friends that would

like to come by and wanted to stay at a motel.. None of

them answered the phone, one I left my number .The

closest are in Coldwater or Three Rivers that are OPEN

now that is... I called the Palmer Lake Lodge that has a

really nice site but its apparently not open in the off

season, which is what winter is.. Some people that are

NOT used to snow and don't like the cold don't stay

here in the winter and go south.. just like the birds,

that's why we call them snow birds...:-) But this town

needs a motel that is open all year!

There is just as much to do in the winter as in the

summer anymore.. There are 3 lakes here, I KNOW

there has to be some fish in them and I bet they

freeze over, and ice fishing has gotten to be as

popular as summer fishing.. My ex, David, before we

got our 14 foot boat, he loved the winter, when the

lakes froze, then he could fish anywhere on a lake

not restricted to shore like in the summer. And the

snowmobiles? They are a big sport.. There are special

roads just for them.. Donnie belongs to a group of

guys that maintain the snow mobile trails... Up north in

the winter they have a snow mobile run.. All the guys

or women too that enter go from place to place to

get tokens to show they have been there.. Most of

them are bars... By the time all the contestants get

back most are totally smashed and didn't care if

they won or not.. they wanted the free beer ! :-)

It was dangerous if some of the entrants got too

drunk.. they had some serious accidents that if

they had been sober wouldn't have happened..
Only happened once though.. They did learn..

they didn't give them free beer and changed the

token sites to gas stations, not bars ! :-)Which up

north if there is anything in a town its a bar and

a gas station... :-)

Beautiful day today, not too cold, in the 50's and

its nice and sunny...I have no real plans for today

either. Tomorrow is a busy day with phone calls

etc.. Penny comes tomorrow, Travis on Tuesday,

Penny Wednesday, Rebecca Thursday, I have a

full week.. Plus I have to make a few dozen phone

calls about this medicaid crap.. I just don't under

stand it.. I got 2 letters Friday one from DHS

and one from SSI and they have TOTALLY just

left me in the dark.. I have to get that straightened

before it drives me totally insane :-)

But right now this GORGEOUS WEEBLE is very

sane and hungry.. I think I may make some spaghetti

sauce.. Or a nice big juicey hamburger with some

sauteed onions.. THAT sounds good :-) Time to post

this and warn ya... "I shall return!" :-)
