Amputee life before and after...

~Joyce Visit~ :-)

Joyce came and cut the grass this morning.. When she saw me
in the door way she stopped the mower and we talked for a few
minutes.. I asked her if the birdhouse was in her way, she assured
me it wasn't a problem to cut around it.. She thought we had put
some grass killer out there on that cement.. its covered with some
stuff that has fallen from that pine tree out there...Its the messiest
kinda tree there is next to a weeping willow tree..This stuff on the
ground I think is what was covering the new pine cones that are
growing and next to cover the ground out there.. I told her to go
right over it and blow it off :-) She did..

Joyce told me the guy in the ramp house across the street from
her did pass away.. She also relayed some info about her brother.
Hes 72 and just had his leg amputated above knee.. Poor circulation.
Like me... She said he is doing ok but has some serious heart
problems.. He had his first heart attack at 35.. I had my first one when
I was 42...I had my triple bypass at 55..Too young.. I hope he does
ok..This sure isnt an easy life..Not when you are up in age and have
to deal with this.. Younger I honestly think its much easier to handle
and deal with...

I know of quite a few daks.. all different ages..and of course the
young women are more active that some one in their 50's, 60's
or older..But I think the older are more easily to accept this happening
to them and able to deal with it better..The young see it as YEARS
and YEARS of dealing with this.. which us being older .. I only have..
well hopefully at least 20 more years to deal with it ! I hope I live that
much longer.. I worry sometimes though having lost 2 sisters already.
But ..time marches on.. and all I can do is hope I'm in for the LONG
haul :-)

I slept ok last night and to that this GORGEOUS WEEBLE says
"THANK YOU LORD!"... I bet I say that at least 20 times a day..
I try to at least a few times when I manage to do something that
is kiinda hard or tires me out.. It seems to keep me going :-)
Specially when the pain stops. Trust me ...that is the VERY first
thing I say..:-)

Time for me to post this and get some lunch.. I think I may make
a sizzler steak sandwich.. Penny went to Meijers yesterday, before
coming here and got some hoagie rolls.. Some sauteed onion..
and maybe a slice of Swiss cheese.. Sounds good to me ! Post
time ...First ...Remember..I SHALL return! :-)

Always, Lois ****

"God Bless You" is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you 'friend'.
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

    Hi, Honey,
Amen to that! I'm SO glad you got a good night's sleep. Makes you much fitter to face the day, doesn't it?
Ines's birthday to-day. She laid 2 tons of gravel between the raised beds, just to celebrate!!
    Take care, Honey,
    Luv Ya,
    Raife
