~Was Yesterday Saturday?~ ;-)
Last night from all the commotion you would have thought
was saturday nite at the bar..! About 2 am I heard a scream
of "HELPPP" I mean, scared the CRAP out of me, I sat right
up in bed..the noise came from next door right thru the wall..
This has happened before.. But hadnt again in quite a long
This has happened before.. But hadnt again in quite a long
time.. I laid back down, and again another yell..then I hear these
loud bangs and doors slamming, yelling in the hall...I mean talk
about wake someone up!!! By the time I got into my chair, I
bet I did in record time, and peeked thru the door I saw police
running towards the door. I heard nothing after that.. All was quiet
again...This is NOT a good way to be woke up... I havent heard
any of the details but I am sure I will soon..word just has to go
around a bit..But I heard really aLL I wanna know.. There has
been nothing but trouble with that apartment next door since he
 moved in..Hes a DAK as well..older man..and has a care
provider all the time I think... A retired police officer im told..
I was in my sewing room when I had my computer in there and
I looked up, this was about 7:30 at nite still daylight.. and I saw
3 police cars pull up in the apartments across the way right
here.. I sat there and saw 3 men get out of each car and start
walking slowly towards this building.. I almost did ALL kinds of
uglies in my chair I got so scared.. The one cop pointed at my
door and the other shook his head and pointed NEXT door...I
Just sat there looking totally dumbstruck.. as the cop passed
my window and saw me he just kinda waved as if to say "its
ok" I know I had to be totally GREEN... This stuff goes on all the
time.. Fire alarms, or someone tries to burn down the buiding.
some moron set the couch on fire down in the community
room and luckily the one resident that wanders the hall listening
outside everyones door saw it and called 911 lol.. well good
thing she WAS snooping that day you know? This whole place
could go if its built like those new ones I watched them build
next door... I worry about fires.
I know how easy it is to start one I found THAT out the hard way
when I melted all my kitchen tools that were in that big crock sitting
on the back burner of my stove, when I turned the wrong burner on
and didnt know it until the smoke detector went off ... scared me...
smoke was really THICK in here..what I had done was set a wooden
box on the back burner ONCE..and did the same thing..that box was
in FLAMES...and that smoke alarm thing goes off for just the slightest
whiff of smoke.. and LOUD too..My boys run just terrified..when there
is smoke in here LittleBoy hides under the bed and just HOWLS pitiful
this horrible FORLORN ...MEOWWW .. and he wont stop till all the
smoke is GONE!!! He will Not stop..Dutch just sits and looks at me.
as if to say "umm Ok..what do I do?" waiting for me to do something..
So anyway I know how easy it is to have a accident in here.. I got
smart tho..and I put tape over the knobs.. I could take them off but
then these little pointed things stick out and if one of the boys would
jump and miss they could get hurt on that..so I left the knobs on and
just taped them... Doesnt look the greatest but stops their stupid
mother from burning the place down too... I should get a fire thing,
theres one down the hall.. but.. what If I couldnt get to that door? I
should have Donnie find me one.. With the turnover of people here
and some..well bless their hearts.. I do worry, but I am glad they
are way on the other side of the building.. But its scarey when all
this stuff goes on specially in the middle of the night.. Now you see
why I have seriously considered moving.. But to be totally honest
I dont think as far as an apartment, I really could find better, other
than the kitchen counters. only way I think I would get a better
location is if I had my own house..and there is just no way that would
be possible that I could buy one and I know for what I pay here I
doubt very seriously that I could even rent one... So kinda leaves
me not alot of choices. I guess this is just the joys of apartment
living which is honestly the first time I have ever had to live in one..
Ive always had a house..rented or buying.. so when this weeble
did this restart there were ALOT of whole new things for me to
try out.. and apartment living is NOT really high up on my list as
 a favorite thing to do...
Well I hope no one gets the impression Im careless in the kitchen.
as far as fires.. lol...I dont burn myself on purpose either.. But I
THINK I may be eligible this year for an up grade on my power
chair..if I am.. I could possible get one that raises up..WHAT that
would DO for me in my kitchen!!!! Boy...would I LOVE to have one
of those.. So I am going to find out, I am sure I wont be able to for
a while tho...month or so... but when I am.. I sure am gonna try to
get one.. I saw one in a magazine..sure was nice...solve alot of
my problems.. I dont know how much higher they go.. If I read it I
dont remember...anything higher than this would be a treat, make
it easier to use my appliances? make some bread? MMMM I
miss not doing that.. That Hawaiian Sweet Bread now ..MMMMM
I see the food they sell on QVC...and I WILL vouch for it.. I have
miss not doing that.. That Hawaiian Sweet Bread now ..MMMMM
I see the food they sell on QVC...and I WILL vouch for it.. I have
gotten stuff from them.. Steaks once..burgers, and some fish
patties.. and good? MMMM... They just had food on again the

Police and ambulances do drive up on an emergency basis often next door. It seems there is a young child who has sleep apnea and is on a monitor to prevent sudden infant death syndrome.
In our house - we sometimes have an unattended pot get scorched. We have been lucky so far.

That was a very unnerving experience. I hope that it does not happen again.
When we are away on a trip my wife often develops an unquenchable fear that something hot has been left on- the oven, a burner, the toaster oven, the iron, or the like. This has never happened, but it can quite ruin her time.
I had in interesting conversation with a DBK friend last night who is about to have surgery on both knees and then will need new legs made. She is facing at least three months in a chair, and then weeks before she will be able to walk full time. She is a philosophical about the having some of the same day-to-day mobility issues you have for a while- nothing new since she is a congenital amputee. But she hates being in public with her chair or without her legs on, and being treated as disabled. We had an interesting conversation about how she wants to adopt a persona of pride in who she is and how she wants people to simply see her as "normal," but in an alternate format.
Anyway it reminded me of all the things that you go through every day on a more permanent basis.

Morning Gray,
Fires are always a fear of everyone...
Sorry to hear about your friend. I dont use prostethics. I dont mind going out with out legs, and I would think taking pride in yourself would mean accepting yourself as you are..not something you arent.. shes an amputee... its not something anyone should feel ashamed about. but to each their own...glad we arent ALL alike..Normal in an alternate format..hmmm interesting..
hope your having a good day...
Always, Lois ****
Ps.. Exactly WHAT is normal?

She's not uncomfortable with her appearance, but she has an extreme dislike for being treated differently and for prejudice, especially at work. She's a boss in a very male environment.
