~HOT HOT HOT~

I listened to the weather last night and they issued a warning
about the heat index for the next few days, that it is going to be
extremely hot and that if you have air conditioning be sure its on,
and if you dont and need a fan to call different places that will help
you. I thought of the ones in here, where mine is supposedly the best
in the building. I bet alot of people have their hall doors open to
suck the cool out of the hall..well if it keeps their electric down.-Hope
Network could afford it..should be included like the heat.. lol.. But I
think of some that dont have any way to stay any sort of cool. With
extreme heat even a fan doesnt work, and HOT is not good...

I was chatting with a friend in Australia and they couldnt afford air,
very few have it there I guess. I told him what they refer to as Air
Cooled. When I first moved to Houston, and had to deal with that sort
of heat I thought I was going to melt. I didnt know what to do. I surely
didnt have air conditioning-was not in the budget. I got ice from the ice
machine, and put into a bowl and put the fan next to it, the air was
cooled. Not a huge area but enough to be around me and that really
helped.. They tried it..and were really amazed that it works, while they
sat at the computer or watched tv it kept the area around them cooler,
if they can keep a small fan in the window to draw the hot out of their
apartment would help as well and CLOSE the blinds.I dont like dark,
but Its better than the heat coming in..

Out in El Centro in that 26 foot trailer (caravan) if we didnt have
that air conditioning unit on the top..we would have cooked like
a turkey in a oven Im sure.. It got horribly hot out there. I walked
down to the little store one day and my foot slipped off the tongs
I was wearing and slightly burnt the side of my foot..now thats
HOT... To even go in the pool was not tolerable as there was just
no air to breathe and the water in the pool was really hot.. later on
in the evening after the sun went down is when most everyone
ventured into the pool, then it was pretty nice.. :-) nothin like a
moonlight swim you know :-)

I think being in a pool as a DAK would be most interesting to see
if I would sink like a bloomin ROCK lol..I have a feeling I might..that
these little legs here just could NOT kick enough to keep this lady
afloat !! GORGEOUS lady lol..:-) correction... I did love to swim tho.
although I have to admit I was leary of very very deep water..I dont
know, I think I was afraid of the fish I knew were in there and I just
didnt wanna be bait for a mad fish lol.. Some get BIG you know lol. I
heard of a girl that had a ankle bracelet on and a Northern Pike
attacked- thought that ankle chain was a lure.. Heck of a big fish to be
able to want a foot as bait I think, gave me pause for a few thoughts,
I NEVER wore any kind of jewelery swimming after that I know :-)

One of my phobias lately is this stump pain is going to come back..its
not gone and every little while it will let me know "HEY, STILL HERE!"
I have NOT forgotten. I sure dont want that back. I know its still there
but I think I found a position that helps and that is to lay REALLY flat,
seems to work, when I feel that ache go down the back side of my right
stump and that burst of pain, I head to lay down for a while. That pain
before was NOT good .. I guess with all these ups and downs of aches
and pains all this Rollin'- this chair is handy lol..no it really isnt..it does
make it alot harder..A achey back- to just stand up and try to walk is
alot different than having to drag yourself in and out of a chair, which
Really adds to it...

Dutch has just jumped up on this keyboard as if trying to tell me .."ok
time for a break" and I have to agree, my butt and hip are telling me
the same thing.. Time to click on Publish, make a side trip via the
kitchen and see what we can find and lay it down. Nitey Nite.. :-)

Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? luv ya, and thanks... :-)
Always, Lois****

May God Bless you today,
I'm so honored to call you friend,
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again

Kansas Airconditioning: In July, 1981 I was in Kansas City and the temperature said 111F 45C on a sign - that must have been in the shade. We used to cool the homes in the 1940s by opening the windows at night and turning on the furnace fan which was in the basement. During the day when it would get hot - we would close the windows and pull down the shades. to preserve the night coolness. I know in the middle of Australia, there is a town which must get quite hot. I forget its name right now. A friend of mine has an LP record of Aboriginese nursery rhymes.

    Hi Momar,
The way the weather is changing everywhere is amazing. Its not been this hot here in years. California was horrible as well as Texas for the heat, specially someone grew up in Upper Michigan.. :-) I am SO grateful for Air Conditioning :-) but ice and a fan works lol.. :-)

It was hot here too. I was playing lumberjack on Saturday- Sweat and wood chips are an uncomfortable combination.

You would not sink as a DAK. I taught swimming for years, including a number of classes for people with disabilities. Come out east and I will reteach you how to swim. I will give you safem secure private lessions.
