~The Grass~
cut the grass this first time then I would have to find some
one to cut it..after that.. I looked out the kitchen window this
morning and I could see a tire that had to have been to a
riding lawnmower. It was green. I waited most of the day
for Chris to phone or someone to come by and use it or
something.. You can see by the photo how badly my grass
needs to be cut..The guy across the street needs to cut
his as well..The yellow thingies are dandelions.. they are
was Chris, I went and opened it cuz no one can hear me
yell come in when they are outside. Too much traffic I
think and too noisey.. Robert, the man from the COA that
think and too noisey.. Robert, the man from the COA that
shoveled for me, came by to ask about who was going
to cut my grass.. I told him Chris then it would be up to
me.. He said we could do it 2 ways, I pay him , 25.oo
or I can have COA pay him like for the shoveling.. I had
to let COA pay for it.. Theres no way I can afford that..
When he got here he sat for a few minutes and he asked
When he got here he sat for a few minutes and he asked
who did that riding lawn mower belong to.. I told him I had
no idea that I guessed was Chris's..but why just drop it
off and not say anything to me.. Well as I write this its still
out there..and its a green rider and its a John Deere which
is a good one.. Maybe someone is being smart with me
that read this when I said If I had a rider I would cut my own.
That would be funny. Well then I would have to learn to cut
my own grass...Robert cut the grass as you can see, he
didn't do the back yard and Chris can do that I hope..the
grass is long there too.. Dutch likes the shorter grass then
he can see the birds better.. They would love a bird feeder
out there. That is NOT a dirty window, but Dutch's reflection
hes looking down at a bird. The after photo is the next one, all
the dandelions are gone ...
Donnie came by and said its a nice rider, and If someone
the dandelions are gone ...
Donnie came by and said its a nice rider, and If someone
did give that to me he was gonna borrow it. He has a big
yard too.. He said gas has gone up to 3.20 a gallon, and
his truck gets 7 miles to the gallon and he wants to go up
north in 2 weeks for a week end and go and hunt for
Morel mushrooms.. There are quite a few going he said,
trailers and their 4 wheelers and just have a good time.
They all have generators and satelite dishes so they sure
do rough it :-) But they do know where to find those morels
they are like a black mushroom.. I don't like mushrooms at
all but they say these are really good. just sauted in butter.
I still don't like them lol..He gets lots of them and puts them
in the freezer..
I think I am getting or have a cold.. I have been sneezing all
day and my nose has been running so fast I cant catch it..
Lunch was really pitiful..I think was liver..and I don't like that
either..It can go with the carrots and celery. Donnie brought
me a one pound package of his beef that he bought.. That
fresh beef is just so good..Compared to how the stores
meat tastes this is just wonderful.. I will make some sauce
tomorrow .. Penny wont be here tomorrow she phoned a
little earlier and her grand daughter fell off the monkeybars
at school and broke her arm in 2 places..They will take her
tomorrow to have a cast put on..Shes not very old..Its so
hard when kids get hurt and I know this had to hurt. Penny
is taking her to the Dr. so she wont be coming here till on
saturday...I think I will make some chicken noodle soup..its
always good for a cold lol...so they say.. then its TV and
bed and sleep and so that means now its time to say
"Nitey Nite".... :-)
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya, and thanks..
ALways, Lois ****
God Bless you is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe
until I write again..

Oh the grass looks gorgeous ... ummmmm. My advice trade the John Deere in for a couple of goats ... they not only cut the grass for nix ... but fertilize the lawn as well ... and, if it is the right kind of goat, you can knit the wool into a nice sweater ... yeah.

When I think of cutting grass with goats I think of the city bath house in st. gall, switzerland - in the summer, to keep the grass short, they DID hire a couple of goats. I forget which Swiss cheese is made with goats milk. I like Appenzell which has such a rich flavor.

Hi,Honey,
Goats will give you milk, too, though there is a knack to milking them - i know, my Mum kept goats and sometimes I had to milk them! If you cool the milk quickly, as soon as you get it, you don't get that coconutty taste that many folks don't like. It is very good for you because it is easier to digest, as the fat particles are smaller than in cow's milk.
Poor Donald!! Hell, only 7 m.p.g. What is that thing of his? A Hum-V? If it's any consolation, gas is $8.90 a gallon over here. (97.9 pence a litre) That's an Imperial gallon, which is bigger than a U.S. Gallon, but it still hurts!! I'm glad my little Subaru does 35 m.p.g.!
Maybe you could have a little goat cart? Get you to Walmart real easy!!
Take care, Honey. L.O.L. & G.B.H. from

That rider is still outside by my garage, and no one has told me one thing about it.. I would think Chris would let me know something... So much work to do out there and it could be so pretty..Goats are so funny. specially the babies..I dont think the city would approve though.. be fun to try it.. lol..
Hope Yall have a great day, so nice to hear from you :-)
