~TGIF Day~

TGIF day for most people..meaning Thank God Its
Friday. I honestly do NOT miss going to work every day.
I will be honest and admit I enjoy being at home.. I always
have. I never get bored, or have times when I have not
one thing to keep me busy. Perhaps because I sew and
do so many other things.. My computer now, that I can
stay on all the time, I have NO trouble finding stuff to do
or things to send to cram up my friends Inboxes..no no
just kidding..I DO LOVE EMAIL.. I get a lot of neat things
that I like to send on to my friends.. graphics, jokes, I
even sent a few lines to a friend that I thought might be
a good topic for his minister, no, Vicar's, sermon at some
time.. I send all sorts of things.. There are many many
things I can do and not leave here and stay doing some
thing. Ive been that way since I can remember...

I loved my sewing room.. I would get up early and go in
there just like a job, and take a break, lunch..and just
before time for my hubby to get home I would quit and
go to the kitchen to cook if I hadnt had it simmering on
the stove which I did alot..or did in the oven.. I had so
many things to do in my sewing room from knitting to
sewing to crafts to making dream catchers or what ever
I set my mind to make.. I loved to design clothes and
I had a nice business quite a few times.. doing alterations
and making clothes for large sized people with special
patterns I had..

The apartment in Green Bay, when I lived there, had a spare
bedroom of course I turned it into a sewing room. We had
friends there and Ted was a very large size man. and was
Oneida Tribe. Very sweet and talented man..could sing to
melt your heart and had hair down to his knees all black and
shiney..He had his own band, he played the drums and had
solos where he sang, he would loosen his hair and toss his
head when he played and sang , he would look so wonderful.
He had trouble getting Ribbon Shirts that fit him.. A Ribbon
Shirt is decorated with the color ribbons of the tribes.. I don't
recall the colors of his..red, black and gray I think ..not sure.
But they had to be placed on the shirt a certain way..each
tribe was different.. I made Ted some very nice ones that he
was really proud to wear.. I did make quite a few of those
shirts for him and his friends.. Also for the band.. I made all
sorts of things..

My ex brother in law was and probly is a welder now. They wear
special caps, like a baseball hat but more fitted to the head,
and the visor is longer, so when they weld, they turn the hat
back around, put on the head gear and the hat protects
the back of the neck with the longer visor. I made some really
nice ones for John..he brought me an old one of his that he
almost wore out.. I took it apart and there was my pattern..
So I made him about 3 I think at first.. I took them over there
to him , he tried them on..they fit perfect, of course, then he
looked closer at it and saw that it was also reversible, which
none of his other hats had been..then on the visor was the
opposite material than the hat. so when he wore it right the
visor was up and it looked nice with the 2 materials together.
He wore them to work and with in days John came over and
told me the guys at work were jealous of his hats and they
wanted some.. I had cards, so I gave them to him to give out
I had so many calls was amazing I bet I made hundreds of
those hats it seems.. but the biggie ..they talk about women
not wanting another woman to have the same dress or clothes
WELLL.. John wanted me to make SURE none of the
other hats I made were of the same material as HIS!!!..So!!
women are NOT the only ones with that little odd "quirk",I even
made some leather ones that turned out just beautiful... I like
to sew..I can operate about 5 different kinds of machines..
wish I had an industrial machine.. I can run one of those babys
now let me tell you.. fast.. much better than this one I have..
Industrial machines are fast and powerful..Ive sewn my finger
a few times.. and 200 pounds of pressure under that pressure
foot, that material wont budge with that foot down and neither
will your finger when ITS under there..ask me how I KNOW
about that! :-) but I still like to sew.. :-)

My old sewing machine is in the bedroom it has a side pedal
that hangs down to run the machine.. I am going to see what
Kind of adaptions I can make so I can use it.. Then comes the
fun of re arranging my bedroom so I can sew in there.. The
HARD part is.. I have to wait till someone is here to do all this.
Its so hard sometimes to have patience to wait..when I remember
that not really that LONG ago... I could do everything myself..
This isnt really what I planned.. but..well hell..im on wheels so,
I got no bloomin choice but to keep on rollin, and just be glad
I do have SOME patience.. note ...SOME.. :-D

Time for food, Im starved and its so hot in here I cant stand it..
They were sposta deliver a new air conditioner today as of
this writing they havent but their truck was in the shop..so that
may be why..thing is, its in the shop across the street!!! Time
to eat, and watch some TV and get out of this chair.. I did call
and make a Dr. appt. ...madly.. Will tell you tomorrow about
THAT little diddy..im so mad.. but Im hungry and tired and
got up early..time for the famous GORGEOUS WEEBLE
Words.. "Nitey Nite"
Y'all have a good one now Y'hear ? love ya, and thanks!!! :-)
ALways, Lois ****

ps. I wrote this at 3, posted it at 5:45..the AC is here, running
and will tell you and SHOW you tomorrow.."Thank you LORD,
I'm gonna sleep COOL!" :-D

God Bless you is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe
until I write again..

Sewing machines: My dad used to have a window-shade and venetian blind business. To make window shades they had zig-zag machines for doing the hems. I have a friend from Ethical, Adriana, a fashion designer. She has several industrial machines and a workshop in her basement.
