~What To Write About Today?~
believe it? ME? :-).. That skirt is one of the new ones my
sister gave me.. and the top is one that I had Penny get
for me.. they match so nicely.. Theresa told me I look good
in red..that it was a good color for me.. Red is my favorite
color really, in clothes.. then black.. To get the true lighting
is hard.. specially when there is so much light coming in from
the 2 windows in the living room but you can see the "heavenly"
glow.. Just Kidding! :-) behind me..that's from the bedroom
windows :-) If I had the ceiling light on..it would make it another
color too.. the reds look orange. or lighter or darker than what
they are.. But its a pretty set, she has good taste, but shes
been buying my clothes for years now..she knows what I like or
quote "I JUST COULDNT RESIST IT"... when she knows I will
like it too..and then she finds fault with something.. the neck was
too low, or the sleeves were too tight.. then she brings it to me..
Lots of times the tags still hanging on them.. She shops at a ladys
shop for larger size women called Katherine's.. They have some
of THE MOST beautiful clothes.. I don't think they are up here but
I KNOW theres one in Ft. Wayne, IN.. Ive been in that place.. Some
of the MOST GORGEOUS WEEBLE clothes I have seen anywhere !
If you look close at both my hands, you can see neither one looks the
best.. What ever this is.. is on my left as well..Im trying a new creme
that is a antibiotic in hopes it will help.. If I don't see improvement,
which I have..its not as red..Once the creme works in the redness
seems to go away.. I honestly have NO idea what it could be from..
I know we havent changed anything..and this rash that's on my right
I know we havent changed anything..and this rash that's on my right
hand I think is from the rash I had when my elbow was bad.. I know,
I know.. Everyone says.."GO TO THE DOCTOR".. I am giving this
creme a chance.. I wont take chances with my hands or arms by
any means.. but to make a trip out in this crap.. if I can do it here.,
that's what Im going to do.. I know this creme will take a while to
really take effect.. and I honestly do see an improvement.. altho I
would like to know what it is and what from...
I still havent heard from Visiting Physicians..over 2 weeks now
since Sandra said she called them the first time..and last week
she said she would call them again to see what the deal was..I
havent heard..so I guess tomorrow being Monday I have to call
Sandra again to find out.. If VP wont take me as a client.. then I
will call and make an appointment.. I just wish I knew what day
that there wouldn't be any crap outside that I would have to roll
through.. as it is right now, the roads are clear..but there is snow
between me and the road and to where they would load me up.
If I have no choice I will go.. I have to protect my hands and arms,
I cant risk any damage to them.. I know I have a power chair but
I need these arms and hands to transfer..I would HATE not being
able to do that my self..Then I would have to live with someone or
someone live with me.. then it really would be those words I almost
HATE to say.."would you help me?"
I think a lot of disabled feel the same way, but very few admit it.. I
will..cuz its true.. I think..these are MY thoughts. but I think its nice
if I am around someone..or with them and they think ahead to what
is coming up..to open a door..or to pick something up for me, to
push my chair..even help ME to push it.. Those things I rather enjoy.
When Ive been asked "Lois, can I push your chair?" hey.. GREAT!
saves the wear and tear on me! and I don't have to ASK. Ive
discussed this and Ive been told some are afraid that they may hurt
feelings if they steady OFFER to do something or HELP.. sometimes
that would. but if you just DO IT. I don't think anyone would mind. To
me it shows caring.. and the want to help make it a tad easier for me.
and boy I appreciate that.
Well its after 2, and I havent eaten anything but had a cuppa coffee. I
sure like my little coffee pot..only makes 2 cups.. Ive been wanting
some Hawaiian coffee so bad.. I love it.. but apparently Penny says
Meijers just doesn't carry it.. So I know Krogers and Martins does
by my sister.. so I will call her, I know my nephew Steamer loves it
too . so she will ask him to see if he can get it.. Its as good as that
Lousiana coffee with chickory. THATS really good.. I only drink 2
cups at the most in the morning .. but sometimes about 4 or 5 I can
almost smell coffee.. and makes me make a cup..But I only have 1.
I don't need anymore reasons to have to make potty calls during
the night !.. Time for food, TV, and knitting.. and of course.. my
GORGEOUS WEEBLE "Nitey Nite".. I sure appreciate all of you
that read this and let me know.. sure makes me feel good.. :-)
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya.. and THANKS !!!
Always, Lois ****
God Bless you, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again.....

Hi, Honey,
What a Gorgeous Weeble. You're right, red suits you, but then you have SUCH good taste in clothes.
That independence thing is SO important to disabled folk. That's why it makes me so mad over here when people say things like "Oh, we can't put a wheelchair ramp to the door of the bank (Shop, Museum, attorney's office - you name it!) or an elevator inside - it's a Listed Building". They can stick an ATM in the wall of the bank but can't put a wheelchair ramp. "Oh, the sidewalk's too narrow", At 20 feet???
Health & Safety is another excuse for doing nothing for the disabled.
Anyhoway, that's my two-pennuth!!
Take care, Honey,

Very nice pictures Lois, you look wonderful.
It the eating places that are not big enough for a wheelchair to seat at a table and not block the walk way.
We do have two places that are easy for a wheelchair and room to walk...
Becky favorite place Taco Mayo remodel now it is a big pain to eat there, it did have two places for a wheelchair to fit nice, now none without the wheelchair being in the way... Taco Bell is set up nice so we go there now.
East Gourmet has lots of space for all kinds of wheelchair, we use to meet Patsy and Jim for Lunch a lot there.
With our Angel Food here we had long lines, when it was time to pick it up, a long line with our car and they brought it to our car for us...but if you missed it you lose all the food you paid for. That upset me to think that could happen to anyone.
Have a good day my friend, and God bless you too.

Dearest dear one!
I get sad reading about your struggle with life! I feel ashame being where i am , having such a good life after all! I wish i was near you to help and be a sort of good gost on your shoulder, who allways was there to help you with everything. Take you to stores and shop clothes, help you with your chair and eat with you cook with you, and get the doctor for you. Look too your hands and rest of your body. To give you massage, and put cream on the spots that itch and ache.... This is what i would like to do, but just now i cant! You have to live there alone, and i live here... BUT i hope you can feel my thoughts both day and night... Allways that is where you are... In my thoughts and heart!
Kiss on you

Coffee: I buy a colombian espresso which is a contract brand and is probably not available outside nyc. It is not harsh or bitter like Bustelo or Medalio d'oro. I have 2 pots one makes 15 oz of coffee on the stove and one is an electric 8 oz. counter-top machine. I drink about 20 oz. of coffee a day, and I would have to chek the metric equivalent.
Take care of those hands.

Hello Gorgeous One,
Well - that is a nice skirt. So nice that your sis gets things for you. And red is also my fav color - and with black it's cool.
Well - you do need to look after those hands. Hope one of the creams does the job - but if not...well... you know!

Hi Raife,
These caseworkers know all this stuff but dont tell us..we have to on our own.. No one told me hardly anything until I really started to complain..
Hi Mary,
Yes, thats one of the rules..as most of these distribution places dont have the means to store frozen things or stay there for but a few hours, its all done on a volunteer basis, If the lines are too long perhaps someone needs to suggest that another church be a distribution point..2 churches working together to shorten the pick up lines?? To pay money and not get the food isnt good I agree..but maybe they can find a solution or some one can recommend something to solve the problem..I hope you have told them..If no one tells them they wont know or be able to fix it.
Hi Rob :-)
Your so sweet and thank you for your concern. Life is hard on everyone I think though. If it was too easy we wouldnt appreciate what we have had to work for as much :-)
Hi Momar,
Living in Brooklyn you have so many different cultures to get some really good stuff.. I bet its very interesting there. Your very fortunate in a way, but its kinda crowded there :-)
Hiya Butty,
Yes I wont take any chances.. I need my feet and legs LOL...well ok my replacement ones lol..
So nice to hear from y'all I hope you had a good monday..
Always, Lois ****
