~Happy Easter!~ :-)
Happy Easter! Its a beautiful day here today, yesterday it
turned rainy and windy and cold all afternoon.
I was glad to see that its a nice day today, so
many have big plans for egg hunts and family
dinners.. :-) I can remember many of them
 when I was young...
That photo was from one Easter and you see
how nice it was.. but I can remember one Easter
Sunday going early early, for the Sunrise Service.
I would guess now, I don't remember, but I bet
we were there by 7 am.. It was snowing lightly a
small covering on the ground.. I can remember my
dad saying to my mom.. "looks like we might get
some snow today Vi".. Vi was short for Violet,, my
moms name.. Mom's reply was "I hope it waits till
we are out of church Stubby"... Which was my
dad's nickname, it really was Ralph :-) But everyone
called him that.. I still don't know, to this day, why
my dad's nickname was Stubby.. I know he was a
small man.. perhaps only 5 foot 6, if that.. My mom
was only 4foot 11.. a shorty too :-) But they matched
 perfectly for 56 years.. :-)
After the sunrise service we all went to Sunday school,
then after that to the Easter Sunday church service..
No one looked outside.. By the time the service was
done, which was about noon.. it had snowed big time
outside and everyone was snowed in! Cars had NO hope
of getting thru everything.. The church was on one of
the side streets.. and even though they plowed.. it still
meant digging all the cars out.. AND the parking lot
 was not plowed at all..
Some of the church members, my dad, had plows.. but
of course AT HOME! We lived in a little town on top of
the hill and the church was in a little town at the bottom.
My dad phoned my Uncle that happened to be home and
had a plow.. My Uncle Ernie.. moms brother, he was 7th
day Adventist and they went to church on Saturdays..
:-) Well to make a LONG story shorter.. My Uncle came
and got us.. took us home.. then he and my dad went
back down to the church to help get the others out.. I
think from the time we got to the church and out , we
got over 6 inches of snow.. :-) Was a memorable Easter!
All these years later, and I still remember it.. :-)
I also remember getting home to the wonderful smell of
All these years later, and I still remember it.. :-)
I also remember getting home to the wonderful smell of
ham and scalloped potatoes and all the trimmings waiting
for us.. By the time Dad and Uncle Ernie finished plowing,
we waited dinner for them of course, we had a great
dinner.. Uncle Ernie had brought my Aunt Gladys and her
mom Aunt Tillie and their 3 boys with him.. The boys
went with Dad and Uncle Ernie to help shovel.. Aunt Glad
and Aunt Tillie stayed and helped with dinner.. Was a
great time :-) One of many :-) I know I don't have to
tell how good dinner was, since my mom and aunts were
3 of the best cooks in Iron County :-) I can still see
and taste the lemon meringue pie.. MMMMM... :-)
I have no plans for today other than to watch the kitties
outside and the critters.. A couple of the kitties are getting
used to me .. one of the orange wont even run when I open
the door.. I bet soon he will come to me..Well if Dutch doesn't
scare him off.. :-) All of them eat like they are starved.. And
they all take turns.. they don't fight.. which is nice to see.
I feel so badly for them if they really don't have homes or
I feel so badly for them if they really don't have homes or
anyone to pet or love them.. We ALL need lovin.. and SOME
one to love us ... kitties are no different.. Well maybe they
know by the food and water out there that someone DOES
 care :-)
Time to post this and enjoy this day.. I hope you are having
a nice holiday.. Travelling please be careful.. I have loved
ones on the road and I'm sure many do.. Stay OFF the cells
while you drive PLEASE.. so many talk and are so NOT good
at multitasking . :-) this GORGEOUS WEEBLE says "Happy
Easter" and.. "I shall Return!" :-)
 Always, Lois ****

God Bless You, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
 Until I write again...

Hi, Honey,
What lovely memories! Ines makes a wonderful lemon meringue pie, too. When I was teaching, the Domestic Science teacher told me that it was just as quick to make a LMP from basic ingredients as to use a packet mix. Ines tried it and has never since been allowed near a packet mix!!! Her Yorkshire puddings are good enough to make a Yorkshire Lass weep with envy!! I feel SO sorry for the poor souls who buy them from the freezer in the supermarket. It's so easy to make good Yorkshires, when you know the secret. Even mine come out pretty good!
We had a wonderful Easter Communion service. The church was full, 100+ in the congregation. The ladies had done a wonderful job, decorating with spring flowers and there was some super art work by the children in our local First School.
Take care, Honey,
God Bless you,
Luv Ya,
Raife

P.S.
Great to see from yesterday's pics that your chair has not shrunk at all, rather that it is getting bigger!!! How lovely to have a new pic of my fav. Weeble, even if it is a bit small!
