~About Me~

Since its so close to St. Patty's Day, I thought wearing green
for todays picture would be pretty good... Nothing spectacular,
it just GORGEOUS me lol...:-) I hope you like it though.. Same
rules now...If you take it.. It goes ONLY to your computer..NO
where else !!! oki doki? :-)

I've been asked quite a few times what it was that I did before,
when I worked, during all these years..Well..I've worn MANY
hats...so to speak..I've done alot of different things.. I think the
one that I have steadily done since I was VERY young was sew.
I've had my own sewing business, as a seamstress and crafter
since I left home I think.. I realized that all I needed was that sewing
machine, thread and material and I could make money.. and I
always did. I Love to sew..to take just a small piece of material,
and turn it into something useful, warm, and beautiful...I enjoy that.
I think that is why I enjoy clothes as much as I do..why I like to wear
skirts, dress up more or less. By sewing and making my own
clothes I knew..NO ONE would have what I did..I would never see
anyone else with exactly what I had..and I liked that :-) I started to
put pieces of material together and make doll clothes when I was
very young, 10 or so...and I still LOVE to sew...and material is one
of my favorite things

After I graduated high school I went to Nursing School..and became a
LPN..or Licensed Practical Nurse..I enjoyed that alot. I worked on
and off as either an LPN ( I was only licensed in Michigan) or as a
Nurses Aide. I enjoyed meeting all these people and taking care of
them when they were all so sick and needed the TLC. I have so many
funny stories of patients and things that happened during my nursing
experiences.. During these nursing years I lived in different states...

While I lived in Texas, and married to my 2nd husband.. I worked as
a bartender, waitress and ran motels and apartments and I worked as
a executive secretary for the president of a Export Crating company.
When he broke away to start another one I moved into a marketing
office and worked as a Marketing Support Specialist and Sales
Coordinator..I love that..While there I had my sewing business on the
side as well.. When we moved from there to Indiana to live closer
to family we started our own Tree Service.. Taking out a stump on
one of the jobs is how I lost my left eye from a piece of metal that
came off a steel wedge. Thats why I am blind in my left eye...

When this marriage dissolved I went to work as a industrial sewing
machine operator.. I think I can operate about 4 or 5 different types
of machines.. Its really amazing at how many different types of
sewing machines there are.. Some are even stand up machines
that I HATED..and I refused to sew on them.. Some machines are
totally programmed and run by computer..but you still have to have
someone put the material under the needles..and make SURE
you move your fingers out of the way!!! Ask me how I KNOW that!
I think I Have sewn my fingers or got the needle stuck at least
5 or 6 times..and was my own fault..Never look away from the
needle while one of those machines are running...they will get you.
The pressure under the foot of one of those machines is over
200 pounds..can easily make a finger tip explode..yes I KNOW..
The tip of my pinky finger got smashed...blew the end right out.

If you get the needle thru your finger it really doesnt hurt..the needles
are so hot..and go so fast..it doesnt even bleed...as the heat seals
it off.. NOW..an hour later or so? yaaaahhh buddy , that thing DOES
hurt like crazy..lol...I was using a back tacker machine..that will go
back and forth over the same stitches to tie them off...well, I did that
little number on my index finger...that really hurt..since it does it 3
times...does NOT feel good.. But the speed of those machines..once
you get used to them, to use one that is for the home is so hard..I
would go home and sew on mine at night and go nuts cuz it just
seemed so SLOW....its another comparison of the caddy to the
jalopy..lol... Only thing I would get tired of is making the rod pocket
for 200 pairs of the same curtain material-that got monotonous but
sure made me sew faster lol...:-) I wanted the stuff gone and to move
on to something else...:-)

Speaking of something else..well its that time again..I am SO glad
I have some left over meat pie.. I made it but M M M it is SOOOO
good I wish I could put a bite here for y'all to taste it.. Its filling and
it even tastes good cold... ITs really a form of the English Pasty.
My grandmother, and mom made them but the original was made
as Individual ones for the person.. they were made for the miners
to take in their lunch years ago.. Raife can tell you...lol...Hes from
the UK... They are so delicious.. I make the same thing but I
make it as a pie..with a crust on the top and bottom...its really
good that way as well. I LOVE them.. Donnie would be here if he
knew I made one..I didnt tell because I usually make 2 lol..I got
lazy....I will make one for him tho.. I am so glad they have those
already made pie crusts they work GREAT ..
.
My meat pie doth call me...so its that time..nitey nite...
Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? LUV ya..& THANKS !!!

Always, Lois****

May God Bless you today,
I'm so honored to call you friend,
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

Yes, you look just great in that photo, Lois. U like the green top, and of course I love your skirt. Thanks so much. I guess Dutch missed being in this photo.

Green will be a big deal here in Massachusetts on St. Patrick's Day. The Commonwealth labels it "Evacuation Day," and state employees, unlike me, have the day off.

Thanks for telling us about you work. You have done a LOT of different things. I have watch people who are good at sewing, and it's really impressive to me. The skill involved, the knowledge of fabrics, and the three dimensional thinking are amazing to me.

See you later, and thanks again for the lovely photo.

    YOU MY HERO

    I'm an everyday super hero
    I've no fancy cape
    No bullet prove shield
    Or hi-tech gadgets
My name will never be in lights
    You'll never see me spin
    Or fly through the air
    I've no invincible powers
    To help me fight.
    But I've been to hell
    And fought my way back
    Looked death in the face
    And lived to see heaven
    Westled my demons
    One by one
    I took on the devil
    And I won.
    I've got super human strength
    Courage that goes through fear
    Confidence not to give in
    Pride that cries tears
    Hope that finds peace
wisdom to believe in who I am
    And knowledge to know
    What I can become.

    HELLO LOIS,

UR PICTURE IS NICE. IT IS NICE TO READ ABOUT UR WORKING EXPERIENCE DURING UR LIFE.

I HOPE THAT U ARE NOT TAKING TOO MUCH WEIGHT AS U FREQUENTLY EAT MEAT PIE.

WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT St. Patrick's Day.

I HAVE NEVER HEARD ABOUT IT.

EVERY WEEK WITH UR NEW PICTURE, U MAKE ME WANT TO SEE MORE OF U AND U ARE MAKING ME TO HAVE THE DESIRE TO SEE SOME OF UR SKIN NOW.

I HAVE NOT UNDERSTOOD SOMETHING FROM UR PREVIOUS MESSAGE. DO U WEAR PANTIES. OR U WEAR ONLY SILK PANTIES.

IF U DO NOT WEAR PANTIES, WHAT DO U WEAR INSTEAD.

HOPE THAT U ARE NOT OFFENDED BY MY COMMENTS.

    TAKE CARE

    BYE..BYE..BYE..BYE

Hello Yashvin, If I should get offended by your comments Yashvin, I will delete them lol. As to your questions.. I am not sure about St. Patricks Day its more for the Irish people. But every one likes to take part in celebrations.

As to the inquiry about my wearing panties, silk or otherwise.. NO I don't. They are a bother. As for seeing more Skin..Well I don't think you will see any more than what you have seen in the photos I have put here.. :-)

Hope you have a good day :-)
    Always, Lois****

    Dear Lois,
Great pic, thanks. You KNOW it is safe with me!!
How about making dolls clothes? I bet there is a big market out there and if you couldn't manage an electric machine, with small clothes it mit be viable and not too slow to make them on a hand machine. I've made a "Snoopy" that way, for my daughter. Had to make the pattern, too, as none are available commercially.
Is there a book there, in your nursing experiences? Youre writing stile and sense of fun could make it a winner!!
Take care, my dear, lots of love and hugs from
    Raife.
