~This CHAIR~!!! ~
I think this new chair is defective..I do ! lol.. I think every day I
complain about it. It doesnt seem to steer right.. and the
brake thingies just flop...it makes a weird kind of creak
sometimes..its hard to explain..like something is giving
way. Its just so stiff...It seems to be taking for ever to break
this chair in..I've had it now for a while too...Ratz,, I cant
think of when I got it now..but its been long enough that it
should be loosened up.. I've threatened to go back into my
old chair and I just might do that, this one is so aggravating.
When I am in the kitchen and I carry something in my hand,,
what I do is turn around get my tires straight and push off
really hard from the counter and I can usually go far enough
to hit the end of the linoleum and I am by the dining room table.
I grab on to that..give another good push..and I can make it
to the door way of the bedroom..Then I just grab the door
frame and pull into my bedroom..and a hard push.and I can
get up to my bed.. I do this..rather than keep changing hands
when I carry what ever it is, a drink or something I can keep
in one hand and carry.. If I have soda, and food..then I get my
tray table and put every thing on that and just push it in here
in front of the TV and eat..I guess its like having a dinner
companion other than the cats..Although Dutch does have
to have a taste of what ever I eat...Or at least a sniff..He
usually will eat or taste everything I have..he HAS to check it
out.. LittleBoy will sniff if I offer him a taste, but very seldom
does he eat people food..The ONE thing LB likes tho is
coffee grounds ..before I put them in the coffee pot.., just
out of the can..raw i guess..I put some in a spoon and he
licks it..he loves that ..Every so often he has to have a
coffee fix.. My boys are very spoiled..Ahhh they live here.
so why not..I would really be lost with out them ...
But I am seriously thinking of switching back to my old
chair.. I do like the black outer wheel on this one tho..My
old one is silver..or chrome- what ever it is...silvery looking..
and I like the black..One thing I have to say is I do hate these
spoked tires..those spokes are a buggar to clean.. I bet
whom ever designed them didnt think about cleaning them..
Seems everything sticks..and IF you splash stuff on them..
Seems everything sticks..and IF you splash stuff on them..
they get sticky and any kind of dust..or cat hair that is
around sticks to these spokes..It is NOT easy to clean my
chairs .. Takes me forever to get those spokes clean..
Jane cleaned mine last time... I f I do it my self..I have to get
out of it and get on the bed...and then reach down and wipe
each spoke that has 4 little edges in it hard to explain, but there
are corners on it..and its not easy to clean..then when I have to
reach WAY underneath..well its NOT easy if I do it myself..Then I
have to lift the chair to move the tire to another spot so I can clean
all the spokes and there are..hmmm lets see-9 spokes..and quite
long..involves alot of reaching..stretching to get at them.I am glad
when I dont have to do it ...The joys of living in a chair..
MORE things to clean..lol..My TO DO list just keeps growin lol...
I have not eaten today and I am totally starved. I think Iwill make
some quickie spaghetti, I am SO hungry for it...So thats what I am
gonna do..then eat..and call my sis and see how she is doing..
Shes had some rough times bless her heart... So I am gonna hit
publish and I roll this stiff chair into that kitchen lol...:-) I hear it
calling me :-) nitey nite ....
Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? luv ya & thanks...
Always, Lois****
May God Bless you today,

Dear Lois,
Hi, I'm back! Went to a Big Band concert in a nearby village hall last night. Was surprised at the VERY high standard, especially at a small village function. Not quite Stan Kenton or Billy May, but very, very good, some great sax playing and the young drummer was absolutely in the top rank.
Is LB related in some way to Garfield?? Try him on lasagne!! lol ;o)
Could you get the powers-that-be to change your chair for one with plastic six-spoke wheels? The price of them is the same for plastic or spoked wheels. Maybe it would be a way to get a chair that runs O.K.?
Take care, my dear, lots of love and hugs from
Raife.

Perhaps the wheels on the old one fit the new chair. I know that there are manny kinds of wheels available, though they are not necessarily interchangeable. It's such an important part of your life that it seems really essential to get have the right chair in good working order.
I hope that you have an absolutely wonderful Sunday. I am spending the day doing gardening and filling our financial aid forms for my daughter's school. It is so nice outside that it will be hard to stay inside.
