~Risers and Movin Photos~ :-)

That's my couch, oh, and that's one of my kids standing there..
Margaret, its a doll that Donnies mother made for me..I change her
clothes for the seasons.. she wears kids clothes.. Anyway,
you see under the couch on the corner there, that's the riser.
This one is really too high..you can see all the junk I have hidden
under it.. my keyboard for one..its plastic..I got them for my bed
but then got this other bed so we put them under the couch to
raise it up.. My sis loves it, she can get up and down easier on
it.. Many say that.. Poor Lori her feet don't reach the floor when
she sits on it! Pennys don't either. ..The risers come in 4 inch
or 6 these are 6 inch..
I want you to know what I had to do to get this photo now..lol.. I
had to bend in half..move all the stuff away from underneath
so I wouldn't look like a total slob..and then fold in half and set
the camera on the floor.. You can see Margaret's shoe..she wears
Nike's you know.. So you see how the leg of the couch sits in the
riser..It raises the couch up to just a slight tad higher than my chair
which is ok..cuz the cushion sinks when I get on to it.. NOW.....
these photos that are next were taken off the video clip I offered
to send out.. So some parts as you see my head is in that one, it
is a tad blurry, and I cant help that.. I was moving and also its
cuz its a video..but I am just a tad lower than the couch pulling
right straight up to it.. I lock down which you can see the bar across
that black line..that's the break..and we NEVER NEVER do any of
this kinda stuff with out it being LOCKED securely...
It takes a few seconds to get my skirt situated so I don't pull
it off..If I don't lift up the front it drags and then pulls me forward
and then I fall over face first ..:-) you can see the end of my
stump there up next to the edge of the chair.. I havent moved
any closer yet..
When ever I make a transfer I always start out with my left stump.
Its longer and gives me more stability when I make that swing to
pull all of me over on to the seat of the couch..or where ever I
am doing this kind of transfer. Its different if I use a board.. I guess
I could make a video using my board..and since I do have 2 of
them that are totally different..might be interesting.. I hope if you
find this interesting you will let me know..or if you have questions..
and want to know about something.. I have not ONE single thing
to hide.. Its all right there in front of ya.. in all her wonderous
GORGEOUS WEEBLE glory.. :-)
This is the final push over onto the couch.. and then its
still a few more scoot arounds to get all situated.. its on the
video that it can be seen easier.. but this gives you some
idea..its got to be in stages that I move onto this couch or
my bed.. maybe because I have short arms? :-) not that any
other parts of me drag or anything you know.. :-)
There , I have swung my 'skinny' :-D but GORGEOUS Weeble
butt finally OVER there on the end of the couch..
TADA!!! see? I did it! :-) ahh butt you KNEW I would..Its
not really hard to do.. By pulling right up to the couch or bed or
what ever its a lot safer..to me anyway, as there is really only
one way you will fall and that's on to the couch or bed or where
ever... When they said do a side transer..well I would have had
to go over the wheel..you see it there..well I would have to pull
the arm out..this one doesn't just tilt..I wish it did..no I have to push
a button in in front..then in the back of the arm is a lever that swings
around to release it..major thing to do..so you can imagine by the
time I got to make the move..well..not easy.. and that leaves the
whole side open..one wrong move and you could easily fall onto
the floor..and with my accident hanging up proneness I would be
the only one in history but I bet I would fall out.. That's how it goes
for me..

Anyway, I thought this might be a kinda different way to show a
transfer and not being on a video.. Maybe one day this week I
will get my board and take a video of it and then get some snaps
of it like this.. Then if you want the video..just ask... like for this
one..now you see what half the video is like..the rest is better ,
trust me lol... Ok..food time and Im starved.. I played on this puter all
day debating and getting info about going to Chicago next week for
a few days.. I don't know anyone there but I sure would love a tour
guide while If I go ..Plans arent definite yet.. I have a drs. appt
that I am going to see if I can change it.. I think be fun to spend a few
days in the windy city.. "Nitey Nite"

Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and THANKS!!! :-)
ALways, Lois ****

God Bless you, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again.....

Transfers are the most dangerous thing to try. I once had a large man with alzheimers who weighed about 170-190 lbs when he would fall when I was not there his wife would call 911 and the emergency techs would check him for broken bones then pick him up.

Lois I love how you did the tranfer to the couch, you made it look so easy. Becky is not able to transfer herself at all.

Hey Margaret is also my little sister name.
Pam had a little boy doll that was given to her...she like it for a while...
Have a nice day Lois...God bless you.

Wow … My dear DAKie darlin’, you lead such a different life. The sequence of you bopping over to the couch is just fabulous! Yeah man. You make it look so easy and natural. If they had the Olympic event: couch hopping … you’d easy win a gold medal. I’m anxious to see the next “event” slide board sliding. Best wishes and God’s love to you.

    Hi Momar,
I worry that my arms give out and I cant transfer myself like I do.. I would be most upset if that happened..

Ive had Margaret for a long time. Its fun to change her clothes, Penny enjoys it..legally playing with dolls again as we put it :-)

    Hiya d..
nice to hear from you and know you liked my little transfer display lol.. Its not easy but its doable..I will dig out..no no PENNY will dig out my white one..my board is never far from me either..

Good to hear from y'all hope you have a great day today!! :-)

Those you see doing it easily are in lower chairs if you notice.. probly younger too! Not that im old..but.. well I just dont do floors hon, on them or cleaning them lol.. thanks for the kind words.. I like bright, but I also look good in black too. :-) hope your having a dry day, raining here.. :-) im glad the plants need it...and the lawns..
