~Ooops!~

OOOPS~!~..I was looking at that Hibiscus tree and trying to get
a good photo of it and just at that time Penny pulled in and I got
her as she was getting here this morning :-) I showed it to her
and she didn't even know I had taken it..as you see she is clutching
her coffee and looking down.. I asked her about the tree and why
hadnt she told me it was blooming.. On this side of it growing
is another tree that is hiding the blooms from my view.. She says,
"I just didn't pay attention I go that way every time and just don't
notice". :-) we laughed.. any closer to that tree and it would have
slapped her and she then would have noticed its pretty flowers hey?
My boy came by last nite for a little while and we were discussing
Pennys van and the tranny.he thinks the whole thing is bad..She
still is not driving it today and a friend of hers, Eddie, is supposedly
going to 'try' to find the time to work on it and try to get it running..
She has his truck as you can see, a nice Dodge Ram. Penny was out
there to water, its been so hot, everything needed a drink, If that guy
across the street over there gets any more cars the city I bet will
get on to him about it..Hes got cars out in the street and you see
there 3 of them plus 2 trucks that arent there..and a little red car.
They are car poor over there.. Donnie was telling me he may know
of a wheel chair van that a quadriplegic had and it may be up for
sale.. hes going to find out for me.. That sure would be nice..You
see the nice garage I have for a vehicle.. And even if it doesn't have
hand controls so I can drive it.. be nice for if and when I do have
company and even for Penny and I to go places we could use it.. I
hope Donnie can find out some good news about it.. that would be
so great.. and to only have just basic insurance it shouldn't be that
expensive to operate..well gas yes, right now, but maybe in my life
time the price of gas will come back down to normal again..be nice
that's for sure...

I want to put it in writing how much I am enjoying my saffron bread..
I just slightly nuke it so its just a tad warm..some butter on it..and I
tell you..well not too many things better than that.. It brings back
so many memories..from the smell of it..remembering all the times
I smelled the saffron buns that my mother made, to the wonderful
taste of it.. I can close my eyes while I taste it and transport myself
all the way back to when I would sneak a bun out of the bread drawer,
thinking my mom wouldn't miss just ONE.. well if she was like I am
now.. I knew where every crumb of it is.. She knew how much I loved
those things..She kept them made for me..and the brownies for
David...along with the home made bread...of course.. The only one
thing missing but will be put in next time is the currants.. Theyre like
raisens but smaller and I like them better than raisens..The saffron
buns were passed down from my grandmother to my mom to me..
the recipe that is :-)

David, on the other hand ..my last ex, well, we were headed home one
evening in our truck.. I was of course eating one of the saffron buns
my mom had given me to take home.. was summer, windows were
down on the truck.. I was nice and offered to give David a taste, not
a lot they were my buns..I didn't like sharing them, they were very
valuable to me :-) well I broke off a nice size bite..not huge, but
David had a big mouth so..big bites worked ..no no just kidding..
:-) I had to say that ..anyway... he opened his mouth, closed it and
the next thing I knew he was puking out the window!!! I was SO
MAD! how dare he spit it out ! He said "that was AWFUL!" I
remember one time he shoved a piece of cheese in my mouth
that was so rank I almost passed out but I still ate it.. and he spit
that saffron out.. Some people, David obviously one of them, do
NOT like saffron.. But to me..well its heavenly..and now I know I.
well WE can make it..yes.. Im very pleased...

Tomorrow is a dear dear friends 50th birthday, dear Rob, in
Sweden, he leaves those wonderfully sweet comments on
here for me.. He is having a huge party with lots of family and
friends..They have already started to gather to decorate and
to cook some wonderful food I bet.. I plan to make a video clip
for him for his birthday I just hope he likes it, be a nice gift I hope.
Wont be anything MAJOR Drastic kind of video ..just me,
this GORGEOUS WEEBLE... I wonder if the weeble makers take
offense that I refer to my self as one.?.oh well..too bad if they do,,
that's what I feel like when I fall over and hit my face on the bed
or fall over cuz im bottom heavy I do bounce right back up like
one tho :-) I laugh every time I do that thanking God NO ONE can
see me do that stupid stuff ..

Well I hope the stupid stuff is done for today and I am gonna go
and find a snack and watch TV- I HOPE.. I say that every night and
I try to remember the next morning what I watched.. well you know
what I remember yes? right.. NOTHING! :-) I do remember my
way to the kitchen tho..and of course my snack is some saffron
bread..MMM "Nitey Nite"

Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and thanks.. :-)
ALways, Lois ****

God Bless you, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again.....

    Hello Lois
    Great pictures again.
I took a few pictures of were the flood water was at today...They let the people in from 10 AM to 8 PM. So I was able to take pictures. Beth came by and wanted me to take pictures for her Thursday.
Sure hope Penny can get her Van fixed without costing to much.
I never had any saffron bread that I know of.
I make a meatloft today, it sure was good.
    God bless you Lois.

    Hiya Mary!! :-)
Hows you my friend? I know how bad that has to be..I would love to see the photos when you get them if you would share with me.. Water gets into houses makes mold grow and its so bad and can be life threatening Ive heard... I hope Penny can too but the way it looks, I dunno.. Saffron bread is so good..They have a yellow rice in the stores made by Vigo, try it, its saffron, and THAT is good..with pork chops or chicken? oh yes.. I would boil my chicken, de bone it then put the rice to cook in the broth, just before it was done I would put the chicken back in..and let the taste go thru it.. VERY GOOD... . MEATLOAF?? that is my 2nd best favorite to fries and gravy.. I LOVE THAT

Good to hear from you Mary,,take good care and be sure to have some MerryMary Time Ok?
    Have a good nite..

Ah Saffron - 1/32nd of an oz. costs $3.00 here It may have gone up in price. Most saffron comes from Spain, but the saffron I have came from Turkey. In my old nabe there is a turkish enclave and perhaps the Turkish grocer has saffron.

When I think of weather, I remember going to air force propellor school at Chanute AFB, in Rantoul IL. They also had one of the only weather schools in the country That was in the fall of 1957 - time flies.
