~Early Roofin~

Was a quiet morning, until 7:30 am.. I was sitting at my desk,
doing email and I hear this loud BANG!.. and scared the day
lights out of me.. was Kenny, he put the ladder up against the
front porch.. I know he said early.. I didn't even see him pull up
in the yard .. I found out real fast he was here! I do that every
day though with the mail.. I know the mail comes about 3 every
day.. and I look at the time, and think about it even, but when
that lid slams down on that box. I jump every time! The cats don't
any more :-) Kenny left and I have no idea what the status is on
the roof..what stage its in..I will ask Penny when she comes in
tomorrow. We are going to start working on the stuff in the base
ment.. Its really bothering me all that material down there and
its not protected..

Im going to have Penny get some good strength plastic bags
and transfer it from the box into a bag..be a lot easier..and so
much safer for it.. I have such a fetish for material..my sis does
too.. we could spend hours looking at it and touching it..thinking
of all the things we could make out of it.. She is moved into her
new house and the first room she worked on to get things put
away of course, was her sewing room.. I know for a fact that she
could steady sew till she dies and not use up the material she
has shes got so much.. I have a lot.. Mine is mostly Silk and
Cotton.. that's what I mainly use...Material will soak up the odor
from a basement..like the smell of a fire if cloth is in it.. the
smell will never come out.. a special chemical has to be used..

When I had divorced my first husband I moved into a small
one bedroom house something like this.. I woke early in the
morning to intense heat , opened my eyes and my kitchen was
totally engulfed in flames.. like looking into a furnace when
you opened the door.. I barely made it to the outside.. When
it was finally out and the fireman were gone..they told me not
to take anything out of it..that they would put a chemical in it
and that would take out the burning smell.. I don't remember
a lot of the after, I was in such shock and just devastated, it was
awful.. the feel of that heat and not be able to escape and you
feel your lungs just not getting any air..its a horrible feeling...

I had finally managed to get the door unlocked and ran across
the street to the neighbors and sat and watched as the firemen
worked on putting the fire out..was faulty wiring..my dishes that
I kept in the cupboard used to get so hot sometimes from
being in side there.. When we walked back over there to look
at the damage, the whole inside of the house was gutted..there
was nothing left untouched.. My TV had actually melted into a
pile.. my lampshades were just wires there.. I saw an old picture
that was on the wall.. I remember thinking how glad I was that it
had survived.. as I reached out to take it down to take with me,
it crumbled in my hands..and fell to the floor.. I looked at it laying
there, and looked around my burnt house, everything gone.. and
I cried.. my first thoughts.. like they were that night I looked down
and saw the empty space where my leg had been.. "What the
HELL are you gonna do now?"

Its been a trip let me tell ya.. not too much I havent really felt or
seen or gone thru.. A lot.. nothing I regret..because I made the
decisions to do what I did, so was my choice..I made the wrong
decision sometimes though.. but that's life and living and I did
learn from those wrong decisions.. I guess I learned pretty good,
Im making it thru one of the biggest challenges ive had so far.. I
say so far.. I hope I have no more ahead..but well..if I do..which
Im pretty sure I will.. All I can do is like I have been ..pull up my
invisible pants legs and just step over the crap and just keep
on rollin.... works for me.. :-)

Speaking of rolling.. I have some leftover pot roast.. and I am
hungry..lunch was a salad, I ate the tomatoes and hard boiled
egg and that was it.. Ohh I want you to know.. I have 2 ..as in
TWO tomatoes out there hangin..yes I do!! and boy.. I am
watching them too..Kenny get too close, well he would rather
do something ugly and fall in it than damage those plants
with that stuff hes throwing around out there.. I have plans for
those beauties.. I am patiently waiting.. Time for some dinner,
time for TV and some good relaxing, I had a most wonderful
visit with my company that left me feeling very good, we had
such a very very nice visit...friends are a wonderfulthing..
Im really fortunate to have such great ones.. "NiteyNite"

Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and THANKS !!! :-)
Always, Lois ****

God Bless you, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend";
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again.....

    Hello Lois
Sound like you got a lot of work to get done in the basement.
My arms are so sore from painting the ceiling on the porch...sure will be glad when this painting is all done.We have to repair something before we paint it, and that does take time too...we started painting in cold weather and end in cold weather I think...
    God bless you my friend.

my parents were fire prone. Chairs would catch fire - the stove would catch fire, and some workmen burned the back porch off the house. When they moved away from this one house all was ok - BUT the next house had a furnace fire after we left.

    Hi, Honey,
My poor Love. You have been through SO much. The remarkable thing is that you have come out such a Gorgeous Weeble and lovely person after going through it all. And always a smile and a joke and a look on the positive side of things. We can all learn such a lot from you.
    Take care, Honey. L.O.L. & G.B.H. from
