~Better Print?~
The other day I wrote in bigger print like this..do you
find it easier to read? No one has said anything so I
am curious...I can see it better, but then I'm blind in
one eye so don't go by me :-) Penny came today and
we are all squeaky clean. Lucky woman got her tax
stimulus check..I should get mine next month.. I hope
I do anyway.. She got 900 cuz of her 2 grands she
takes care of.. I told her to hide it from Eddie :-) I cant
wait to get mine, I don't think my check book will know
how to act being WAY in the plus.. That's something I
have NEVER done, hang paper as they call writing a
bad check...
I used to work for EDS, owned at one time by Ross Pierot,
I think hes sold it.. I worked for them when I lived in Green
Bay, one of the best places ive lived. EDS is a company
that really takes care of its employees and you are paid
well to do a good job. Where I worked was a bank clearing
house. We handled all the banks in Upper Michigan as
well as northern Wisconsin. They were delivered by courier
and once we got them we had 4 hours to get them back out
the door and back to the banks. At one time this process
took days, now with such advanced computers its done in
hours. Before if you wrote a check you could figure 3 days
till it clears and goes thru your account.. NOT SO!! You
have over night...
The pace at EDS was so fast that I stayed on my feet the
whole time.. we got these big trays of checks that we had
to make sure all were facing the same way and they were
not damaged or it could mess up the computer when they
were fed thru them.. If there was a mistake the girls that
did all the checking when the computer threw out the bad
checks it was their job to find them.. then we had to put
them all back into bags and send back to the bank.. All
the info for the checks is put on the micro fische, you can
look up checks back to when you first opened your
account. Many don't know that.. They tell you it will take
days to find out anything if you need copies of back
checks.. NOT true..when they hang up that phone they
go to where they keep the films, find it..put in the machine,
make a copy and its just that fast.. That was what we did
too if someone needed a copy of a check...
While I worked there, was when I REALLY realized I had a
problem with feet and my legs.. The doctor I went to told me
I had arthritis in my feet and that with in 10 years I would not
be able to walk and be in a wheel chair.. this was in 92..In
20001 I was in a wheel chair..but I didn't have that arthritis..
She was right but for the wrong reason... I know how bad
my feet would hurt..turn white and just throb.. If I stayed
on them and didn't sit I was ok..but if I sat and relaxed
them THEN got up they hurt so bad I would almost cry. I
would go for a cigarette break or coffee, I worked nights..
9pm to 4 am...when I would get up to walk back to the
work area I hurt bad.. Then the pain graduated to my calf
and when I would walk, if I went too far the ache would
start, by the time I made it to sitting down I was almost in
tears.. Was NOT a good time..what was bad was that
even all the times my legs were bypassed..each one
at least 3 or 4 times...it didn't help ..well you see.. I don't
have any legs! :-)
Anyway I have NEVER written a bad check, was interesting
to work for EDS just as interesting as when I worked for
AT & T telephone company in Houston.. THAT was
interesting .. and I learned EVERYTHING I could and
lately that's come in very handy with some of the calls I
have to make..Speaking of which, I have NOT heard
from BigDaddy Ken..that upsets me that he cannot return
a phone call.. so.. I will give him a call later today,AGAIN.
Well I have a wonderful GREEN ICEE from DQ and I
will honestly admit I AM addicted to them..If DQ EVER
stops them I bet I will surely cry..They really are the only
thing that quenches my thirst..When I eat salty stuff which
I try to avoid,I find I just cant drink enough to stop the
thirsties.. but a Icee? try it.. It WILL satisfy a thirst.. Good
stuff for this GORGEOUS WEEBLE :-) Now Its that time
again to tell ya "Nitey Nite"
Y'all have a good one now,Y'hear? love ya and THANKS!! :-)
Always, Lois ****
God Bless You, is my prayer today,
I'm so honored to call you "friend"
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
until I write again .....

Quenching thirst. In the good old days my parents used to go to an A& W root beer drive-in. We would all order root beer which would come in frosted glasses Root beer with vanilla ice-cream is called a black cow and both root beer and black cows sure quenched our thirst. In the winter - I used to go to the Catholic Worker. After a lecture they would serve sassafras tea until years later - they quit serving it because natural sassafras root the found is a carconogin.
