~Kites~

Ive been thinking about my grandson, Tyler and his
kite being up in a tree.. :-) I know that had to make him
a tad upset. I always enjoyed kite flying.. I wasn't very
good at it but we had fun Kelli and I. I made the kites
for her so we didn't care if they got damaged or if
she tangled them in a tree.. The main thing was we had
fun and laughed. She was a happy girl and of course I
tried very hard to keep her that way :-)

I loved to fly them and ..she and I would go outside as
the only things that were in the way were the trees..if
you were careful and kept the kite away from them it
was big fun. Kelli and I had gone out one day was a good,
nice windy day.. I got it up off the ground for her and
then would give it to her.. I was running down the yard
to get the lift to the kite and didn't pay attention to
where I was running, just at the last second before I
hit it I saw I was running right smack into a tree.. I
almost knocked my self out much less knocking myself
right to the ground ! That kid laughed so hard at me.
After the stars disappeared and I knew how stupid I
had to have looked I laughed too.. I had a hell of a knot
on my forehead though.. and needless to say I was VERY
careful which direction I ran.. :-)

But if the neighbors saw us, as I ran down the length of
the yard, every step I took Kelli was right with me.. we
had to look like it was a major deal... Kelli would hit a hole
or a rough spot and down she would go and I would look
back to make sure she was ok... the kite would fall down
to the ground and we had to start all over again.. When
I think of all the running I did, and how I just always
thought that would be forever.. Goes to show you how
things change..

This new great grandbaby, Alex, Gran wont be able to run
that kite down the yard for him.. I bet if I had legs I
sure would :-) Grandpa says our boy has 2 new teeth.. He
took them to Wisconsin for a week end the last time he
went. Kelli's mother was from there so she has other
family there as well that all look forward to seeing her
and of course Alex. Hes growing so fast.. when I see him
and my Dolly .. I just am amazed at these years went by,
but I didn't know it.. One day she was 3.. now shes 23...
Still my Dolly, but now shes got a REAL dolly too!... :-)

This photo today.. I have SHORTS on... They were a gift
from a friend, and the top is a new one that Penny got
on sale and grabbed it for me as I have been wanting a
new white top.. I wore them the whole day yesterday. I
have a few others of this set if you want, you know the
drill.. write and ask... It was interesting to wear them
since the last ones I wore were the leopard..I still have
not made them into a skirt yet ... I plan to though.. Ive
just been so busy.. :-) Pants are still not one of my
favorite things, shorts either, but I can say I tried
them on.. and the try is the keyword.. :-)

Rebecca said she might come over and she and Penny
try to put my wardrobe together if Donnie cant get
away. She also offered to paint my living room as well.
That one whole part over by the door and the ceiling
Big Daddy Ken never did finish.. I thought it would be
really nice to have it all done.. This little house isnt
too bad, and hopefully in time I can get it fixed the
way I need it to be since my knight seems to have
really gotten lost, or fell off his horse, but I need to
make some arrangements and now is just as good a
time as any.. I got nuthin better to do and if Rebecca
will help too.. I think the 3 of us can get some thing
done.. we're gonna try! :-)

Now, I'm gonna try some late lunch. I havent eaten
today as I didn't know what I wanted, so I think I
might have some shrimp... I love those things.. or fish.
I wish they would build a Long John Silvers here.. I
went to that one in Elkhart all the time.. I almost
drool when I see their commercials on TV . Hope
y'all had a great week end.. I sure did.. some great
company and lovely surprises.. Time to wind this day
down and get this posted.. First my GORGEOUS
WEEBLE "nitey nite" :-)

Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and THANKS!
Always, Lois ****

"God Bless You", is my prayer today.
I'm so honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

    Hello Lois
I back on the computer again, have been busy with Bob...he is home but on bed rest for one week.
Sure make it hard for him to stay in bed all the time.
And my washing machine went out the same day he had surgery. My daughter Beth came and pick up our dirty clothes and she washing them...wow how nice of her to do that for us.
Our Son Leon wife Tina has surgery Saturday, was a spider bits the doctor said...there having to leave the 4 inch opening so it can drain.
Good to be back on the computer again.
    God bless you Lois

    Hi, Honey,
I've just e-mailed you the plans for a kite! A Grauel Sled, invented by a guy called Ed Grauel, in the States. It is very easy to make and is an absolutely sure fire flyer. Just keep the proportions right and you can't go wrong. I had kids in school making these, and every one flew! I may well do them at the First School down here, if I can get Police clearance. (Nobody is allowed to help in school here without Police Clearance).
I made a template for the kids to draw round, using permanent fine marker pens.
    Good luck!
    Luv Ya,
    Raife

    Hi, Honey,
    Some rules for kite flying!
    1. NEVER near power cables!!
    2. Not near a road.
    3. If you can find open ground, away from trees, so much the better. Trees create a lot of turbulence in the wind, so do houses, which doesn't help get kites into the air.
    4. You shouldn't need to run with a kite. When you stop, the wind flowing over the kite stops! If there ain't enough wind for a kite, it is a good day for your boomerang!!!
    Luv Yw.
