~Hazel Is Gone~
Penny didn't come in today, she did stop by on her way to
her other clients. She had called yesterday to ask if it was
ok if she came Thursday instead.. Hazel, a lady we both knew
has passed and she wanted to go to the funeral which was
at 10 this morning. Hazel worked at the Hell Home, I knew
her well and she was SO very nice to me. She often came
down to my room to visit..or if she saw me in the halls, she
always had time for me and to talk awhile. Lovely lady, I
 know she will be missed.
Hazel worked in the supply office. If a resident, as they
called us, needed anything, like a band aid, or lotion or even
a comb, they charged for every single thing. Hazel many
times gave me things I needed or ran out of. Anything I
needed even down to writing paper, she made sure I had
everything. When I started to make quilts in there, she
went to a lot of people and got material to give to me.
She smoked and had to sit outside in the employees area.
Many times I would sneak down the hall and go and sit
outside with her. To sit; where we were; well lets just say
there were not many in there that you could sit and enjoy
a nice conversation with you know? Lovely people, but bless
their hearts most of them were in their own world and
not there at all.. which sometimes that's a blessing. Hazel
and I talked about lots of stuff as she was a sewer and
crafter as well.. The first time we sat outside I asked
which car was hers that was out in the parking lot. She
pointed over to the right and said, "see that little red one?"
I saw one of those wonderful little RED CONVERTABLES.!.
A chevy I think I don't know, but it was beautiful.. She
said, "want to go for a ride? its nice and warm..want me to
go and ask?" I looked at her and started to roll towards
her car saying, "I will wait right over there", as I nodded
towards her car. She took me on a tour of this town in
that little red car, top DOWN now, mind you.. I had a
GREAT time.. She took me for rides quite a few times.
Hazel was a dear friend to me. Once I left there though,
she never came to visit me, but I guess shortly after I
left there is when she was diagnosed with the horrible
C word. She has been desperately ill for the past few
years and her passing is really a blessing, she is not in
pain anymore.... But bless her, she sure helped me. She
will have many stars in her crown.
Guess what? well- KennyBoy came by this morning.. he
fixed the outside faucet that has been steady dripping. I
called BigDaddy Ken last week about it. Penny stopped by
with an icee for me and I had her check it, its not dripping
so hopefully its fixed. The faucet is right by the back
door and with winter coming that's not a good thing to have,
a leaky faucet. The bad thing about his visit was he was
coughing and sneezing and informed me he didn't feel well,
and was coming down with something.. not good.. I sprayed
with Lysol after he left :-) hey I aint takin NO chances,
that stuff knocks me right into bed... so better safe than
 sorry I say :-)
Lunch was... well not worth mentioning so needless to say,
I have a few hunger pangs. I got my net flix yesterday
a Bruce Willis Die hard one, was a little exaggerated but
hes a good actor.. Hes like one of those energizer bunnies
nothing stopped that man...I enjoyed it..But now I need
a late lunch. I have no idea what I want I just sit there
for a while and look at the freezer and see what looks
good :-) I have some yellow squash that I love and I may
cook that with some onions..Sounds good :-) Its that time
again for today, my GORGEOUS WEEBLE "nitey nite"
Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and thanks!
