~Mail Worries~

I have to say I don't know what to write about today.
All Ive been doing is worrying about getting my mail
and the trash out.. I did call Donnie and he said he may
be will come over tomorrow.. He has some personal
problems to attend to and he needs time for that. I
can only sit back and give advice or perhaps another
point of view on things to try to help him. Hes a very
special guy and I hate that hes in sort of a bind. I
wish I could help him more but theres not a lot I can
do other than offer a hug and a shoulder. We talked
for quite awhile and he knows I will do anything I can
to help him. I hope hes feeling better .

We are still in this very cold snap and it is blowing
today which causes the drifts which causes a lot of
problems specially for the roads.. Going down the
highways in the summer you see them lined with trees,
and I used to complain as to 'why do they have to plant
them to block the view behind them, I like to see'....
but that was before I realized that those tree lines
keep the snow off the roads.. In the open spaces like in
the farmland the snow fences are put up every year to
try to stop the roads from drifting. Those way out county
roads don't get plowed as often as the ones in town...
When its really bad they will ban traffic from the streets
and only emergency vehicles or snow mobiles are allowed
out.. And if you're parked on a snow route you will get a
ticket, those are the roads they plow first to give access
to emergency vehicles... Ive seen some cars that have
been hit by those big plows and not a whole lot left ....

David and 2 friends of ours Gail and Larry decided one
Friday nite to go out to Brule River Tap for one of their
famous fish fries.. They came over to our house and
we sat and talked for a while then decided we better
get going as it was and had been snowing most of the
day and we didn't want to get stuck.. We got into the
car and proceeded out to M-73 and as we made the
turn off from US-2 the snow was really coming down.
It was at least a 20 minute drive yet to the Tap.
Larry was driving and Gail was riding shotgun.. (she
was in the passenger seat). David and I in the back.
As we went down the road the snow got worse and
worse and we couldn't even see the road, it was
all white.. Everywhere... all you could see was the
snow going past the headlights..

Gail had her forehead pressed up against the window
and the whole time shes almost screaming "LARRY!,
STOP we CANT go on, its too bad". Larry looked at
her and said "I know this road and every turn and
there is NO place to turn around and we ARE going
for a fishfry" and told her to just NOT look! I had
my head down the whole time.. I looked up once and
saw nothing but snow and I didn't look again till
Larry said "See, I told you we would make it" as he
pulled that car into the parking lot of the Tap.. I
was never so scared being out in a storm.. By the
time we ate, and surprisingly we were NOT the
only idiots out in that snow storm.. lots of people
were there.. By the time we left the snow stopped
and one of the guys there had a truck with a plow
and he left the same time as us.. told us to just
follow him and he would "Plow us home". :-)

I think I am going to plow my way out into the kitchen
and find some food.. what I have NO idea YET, but I
may make a nice meatball sandwich I have some great
cheese its either that or a Philly beef steak one.. I
have both.. Such decisions :-) I'm gonna watch the snow
for a while and finish this new dishcloth I started and
then watch TV.. I have such a hard life.. NOT.. I should
never complain.... but.. well I want my mail :-) Time to
post and write my MAIL LESS GORGEOUS WEEBLE
"g'day, g'day"... :-)

Y'all have a good one now, Y'hear? love ya and thanks!
Always, Lois ****

"God Bless You" is my prayer today,
I'm honored to call you "friend".
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again....

    Hi, Honey,
You know, you ARE already a great help to folks - including "your" boy.
Having somebody with whom you can discuss ANY subject and who is a good shoulder to cry on is immensely valuable. That is one really good job that you do. I bet there are quite a few folks who feel they can discuss a problem with you and get a sensible hearing. Keep up the good work, Bless you.
    Take care, Honey,
    Luv Ya,
    Raife
