~Lost Power~
We lost power last nite at 8:30. It didn't come back
till about 1 today. It wasn't so bad other than just
not having to much to do and no coffee!! :-) First
thing I did was turn it on.. Its perking as I write this.
We had a storm but nothing that to me was THAT
bad to warrant the loss of power like this.. I was on
the phone too ! I was talking to my friend Blue in
Australia and I warned him that I might lose my
phone if the power went out and I no sooner said
that and I hear "CLICK".. and nothing.. TV went off
and I sat there, then decided to go to sleep :-)
I was tired so that wasn't a problem :-)
I got to thinking though, which I had plenty of time
to do that ALL morning :-) what if I had let my chair
totally go down in charge and I lost power before I
could recharge it OR the power went off while I was?
If I didn't have a manual chair close by, Id be stuck
till some one could come and get it for me OR I would
have to get down on the floor and go over to my manual
and get in it .. THAT would NOT be easy!..
The more time went on and I didn't really KNOW what
happened, things looked normal outside, I didn't get up
once it was dark dark so I don't know if other people
had lights.. Well.. first thing I did was check to see if
my bill was paid or in shut off, which I kinda knew it
wasn't but .. well you have to check everything before
you come to a conclusion .. I saw Steve and Lisa pull
come down the street so I raced to the front door
and asked them if they had power and they said all
of Colon was without it.. They had gone to the store
and it cant open its all electric doors :-)..
But It did come back on and this is the first thing I
did was log on this computer of course and I checked
to make sure my phone was working.. It is.. NOW, I
am gonna go have that cup of coffee Ive been waiting
for since 6:30 am.. All is back to normal for this
GORGEOUS WEEBLE.. its post time, coffee time
and I will be back ! :-)
Y'all have a good one now, Y"hear? love ya and THanks!

Cordless phones require electricity - the conventional phones do not. Since 2003, we have not had a blackout here in nyc. Our electric cables are underground - so when there is ice, we are safe. I have a gas stove. I still have electric friges. In the 50s we still had gas refriges - I do not know if they are still being made.

Honeydear!
I havent read your blog for days... Had to take a trip with you know who!!! Was to her sister to give her strength in her sad days... My brother in law has cancer in a late state, and have gone through another treatment... Whole family, us included are very sad... He is a really good man!
I have lesser problems like being allergic and suffering from bad heart (not so bad if you ask me)...
Take real good care my dearest, until..
Today i must work back, what i lost during these last days. The puter gonna be my home rest of the week, but unfortunately not as entertainment!
Kisses from your own

Hi Momar,
My phone now is with cable, so lose power it goes.. I have no real land phone anymore... I like a gas stove better than electric, can control the heat better...
