~Spring Is Sprung~

The past few days have been just great..up in the 70's and for
here that is pretty good..They say it will be a good week end
which being Easter Im glad..So many will be on the roads..and
Donnie & Dawn will be 2 of them..They are taking their Trailer
to a park for the week end just to get away, even taking the dog.
I dont think the cat will go tho..Donnie gets along better with
Jerky..lol...hes a gorgeous animal..chocolate Labrador and huge
for his age..a year old and close to 100 pounds...big dog...

I went out side to day and sat out by the conference room in the
sun..was nice to get out there..There is a patio out there that any
of us can use..not kept very neat or clean..and nothing to look at
at all but the parking lot of the apartments next door..If I went out
the other main door I would be sitting in the middle of the parking
lot looking at dumpsters for garbage..which is NOT a pretty site
or smell for that matter.. I do venture out of the building but as I
have said..the view from what ever door I go out is NOT the best..
Was good to feel the fresh air on me tho..I liked that..makes me
miss my Lanai for sure, specially my sweet smelling roses..

My favorite rose is the Yellow Peace, its so lovely..Well I love them
all but I just like the yellow. My sister has a gorgeous lavender or
pale purple rose that I have never seen before..and huge blooms
on it.. When I lived in Texas I had a cute house there and there was
lattice all on one end of the porch on the west side. I planted climbing
roses, red of course, there and that whole side was covered, when
they all bloomed it turned all red was just beautiful..Only problem was
the bees..and sometimes made it hard to sit out there..they loved
those roses.. When I had a birthday or for a gift everyone knew that
I loved roses and gave me rose bushes to plant in my rose gardens.
I had 2 out in front of the house there that were quite large and I
dont remember exactly how many different rose bushes I had there
but I know at least 6..they were just gorgeous...I need to find my
album and get some photos lol..

But I still could work in a garden outside..if it was a raised bed, and
I had one of those kids red flyer wagons..I could still scoot around
and tend to them..and carry all my little tools in the wagon next to
me.. I used to sit on the ground when I was going to do alot of work
in my gardens...and just scoot down the drive..I should have thought
of this idea then..saved alot of wear and tear on my hiney wouldnt it?
lol. I would have had the legs to propel my self around..and back then
I was having alot of trouble walking so thats why I scooted on the
ground..I wonder why I didnt think of getting a wagon? Hmmmm...I
was out there at least once a day at least. Not working the garden
but out there sitting. I never thought of that-now I wish I had. It was
hard even with legs to scoot down a paved driveway..on the grass
wasnt too bad at all..I liked sitting in the yard on the grass, was so
cool..and soft..specially after David cut it..I loved the smell of that
fresh cut lawn..we were very fussy about the yard and we were so
glad his sister was the same way when she moved in next door.
both our sides were identical..and she loved to garden too..and
did the same as I did and converted the end of her driveway .our
side was better tho..as we had the stockade fence on the other
side of the neighbors for more privacy and we had the wonderful
oak tree at the end of the drive in the back yard...Our side was
better for privacy and there were hedges that ran across the back
of the yard..was a great spot..Can you tell I miss that? lol.. :-)

Well Talking about missing stuff , I missed lunch was 3 different
kinds of salads today that this cook should NOT be allowed to make
it tastes so bad..So I didn't have lunch, I don't want alot..this flu is
still working out of my system..and I hate when I have to get up in
the middle of the night and make a mad dash to the bathroom..
its hard enough when I am awake and already in my chair..well
when I have to hurry and get into my chair out of a sound sleep is
when its kinda dangerous..many times my hand has slipped and
I have learned to make sure I have a good grip before I pull my
self backwards into my chair..and when I am all groggy its very
easy to not be careful..I hate when I fall asleep in the bathroom tho..
Makes my stumps ache something fierce.. thats what usually wakes
me up LOL.. well I sit backwards..facing the back..grab a towel, roll
it up..and lean forward...and fall asleep. im tired lol...and this is
not easy lol..Lord I just tell everything dont I ? lolol..well now you
know I sit backwards and slept on the potty...lol..nitey nite..:-)

Y'all have a good one now Y'hear? LUV ya..and Thanks..:-)

Always, Lois****

May God Bless you today,
I'm so honored to call you friend,
I pray the Lord will keep you safe,
Until I write again...

gardening: when I was married, and we had a house in the suburbs on a lot 20m x 40m or 60 x 120ft I did a lot of gardening. I grew raspberries and sorrel in the side yard, and tomatillos in the back yard. Tomatillos are mexican green tomatoes for making salsa verde. They grow almost wild - they are self-seeding and every year I got more and more tomatillos. Finally, the police came and gave me a summons for farming without a permit.

LOL..farming without a permit? HAHAHA..your kidding? Just for having a garden? wow..well I guess thats the joys of living in the city..lol..I bet those tomatillos grow like cherry tomatoes. They come back every year and even more plants, good eating tho.. I love fresh veggies. There are many spots along the roads here to buy veggies from the farms..great stuff..

    Thanks for the smile Momar..:-)
    ALways, Lois****
